What I will say is that, when they do have a bad result, they seem to bounce back well enough. Whether or not that’s down to Ten Hag or not is a question but I wish they’d just bomb out and lose 4/5 off the belt so some proper questions get asked

Na I quite like this keeping him in the job shit.

It would certainly be delicious if one the clubs who wanted to prevent anyone breaking into their cabal were ones of the ones who fell victim of FFP. Especially those, with their unique blend of old skool cunts and bandwagon-jumping wankers. It would probably at least lead to a relaxation in the regulations too. Which would suit us fine without really helping them (in a financial sense at least).

I've plenty of transferable experiences and can see it happening. Life writes its own poetry.

They're absurdly lucky to the point where I suppose you eventually have to concede that there's something more than just luck there?

But I still think Ten Hag is a bang average manager getting results through, like you say, individual quality. Like they're almost getting results in spite of his efforts, not because of them.

I would expect us to cruise past them in the second half of the season as we get people back and benefit from being on the training ground more.

They remind me of Bruce's NUFC in that I was always astonished by how many points we had. The chickens will come home to roost.

Gillespie was kicked out of a crucial 6 week period after Xmas by Gary fucking Neville - ptobably as big a contribution as Schmeichel's.

I really don't remember him being injured but do remember the 2-0 defeat down there just after Christmas. Even if it was 6 weeks you're looking at February for a return and in that run-in I remember Beardsley on the right wing and Gillespie on the bench; the irreplaceable Ginola, Ferdinand and Lee shitting themselves with Batty being one who actually didn't.

Also recall Barton and Beresford being replaced by Watson and Elliott, as their arses went as well.

    Swapping Clark for Batty

Fazackerly leaving for Blackburn at Christmas

Lack of title run in experience

are your top 4 reasons IN ORDER for NUFC not winning the title in 95/96 . All other suggestions are wrong :cuppa:

I don't recall Gillespie having any injuries. I do recall KK dropping him and shifting Beardsley out wide to accommodate Tino.

Swapping Clark for Batty improved us. Agree with the lack of run-in experience though.

Out for a family thing, get in at HT see the score, didn't fancy us one little bit today with Joe out so genuinely surprised and happy. The longer it goes on the more you think these might just fuck it as we're dead on our feet as per but they're not taking advantage then KDB comes on and just passes it in through schar's legs and waits till the very end to play in the kid for the winner. This season is a write off, we're not getting relegated so just have to suck it up a bit and hope we get better luck with injuries, maybe get a good deal with an incoming/outgoing transfer and go again next year but I'm fucking sick of these kick in the clem's, like.

Further to this I do think we're being set-up for a title charge next season. No Europe and in a much stronger place than when we finished fourth.

De Bruyne is on another level and when he came on I did expect this. Joelinton probably would have prevented it, though.

  8. Before this season I'd have said Bruno was our biggest difference maker, but I now think it's Joelinton.

I noticed Bruno's missus up the stick again too, so we have Teletubbies on the pitch pre-match on the horizon. Time to nudge elbows with his release clause.

I really like this new discovery of theirs. Context, I think they call it. I wish we had it back when they beat us, y'know before they swandived out of the footballing spotlight. Back then the only thing that mattered was the result, not the bigger picture.

End of the day the only reasons we won were; PR gaffes, the flag display being underfunded because it's the Christmas period, the flag display group pocketing the money and then fucking off to Benidorm, and of course our owners paying off the refs and their players to gift the win to our more expensively assembled team of better players.

We also had ITV put the microphones in our [their] end so that it sounded like we outsung them at times to sportswash the nation.

The mackem and ex-Sunderland manager in the studio were there to make minds think that The Learned Elders of the Protocols of Magedia had fuck all to do with the whole psy-op.

Never mind posts, just heard the huffy fat Yorkshire Italian mackem bastard gabbiadini double down on it after huffilly biting to Anderson telling him about the Sunderland fan who told him Clarke would have Trippier's life. Bit like a shark saying not all Sunderland fans thought that. FFS, take, sorry, tak your fucking medicine you sour faced cunt.

Guy's fucking shite, got nothing. I almost feel sorry for them because I recall clutching at straws in the same way 89-92.
