1. In his time here he scored and created more goals than the rest of the midfield combined. 74089 Interesting stuff, but not really a response to the question I asked. 74097 I'd like to say I was surprised by your reply, but I'm not. Anyway, it is interesting that you believe someone who produced as much as Robert is a layabout.
2. In his time here he scored and created more goals than the rest of the midfield combined. 74089 Can't argue but his time had passed imo. 74095 He has a few good seasons left in him yet, as he'll go on to prove.

4. No, that argument was always a total nonsense put forward by idiots. Every time it is put forward in future I will still consider this line of argument to be stupid. Cheers
5. Shame Souness isn't, but then Keegan has integrity. Suppose it depends on how simplistically someone looks at a complex individual.
6. For the umpteenth time: I said that Souness needed time to prove himself one way or the other. He's used that time to prove that he isn't good enough. Which doesn't make me wrong because he still needed that time to prove his inadequacy in his role as manager of Newcastle United (not Liverpool, Blackburn, or any other club he may have been at in the past). It was simply the true, 100% correct statement that "A new manager needs time to prove himself" that makes me RIGHT and not WRONG. FACTARAMA. 73891 I know what you said. How do you quantify time? I suspect you 'go by the book' in most things you do, Gemmill. Again, sorry if I'm wrong, but sometimes 'the book' has to be torn up because circumstances dictate it should not be followed. In the case of Souness, he did enough in the first couple of months to show that the idea a manager needs a couple of years should be ignored. It's sad that it appears you still don't recognise where you went wrong.
7. I thought Souness was shit when he joined, which was more than 12 months ago, which means I win. 73865 Aye, but I thought you wanted to 'give him time'. Sorry if I'm wrong.
8. He should have been sacked after his obvious wankfest when he took off Bellamy against Charlton. At that moment, he proved beyond doubt that he put himself ahead of the club.
9. What really matters isn't that events have proven Gem to be wrong, it's that it looks like it's taken FS too long to see what a handful of people on here could see 12 months ago. Souness has been allowed to fcuk the club up and it'll take any manager some time now to put things right, imo. I don't care whether Gem ever understands this, I just hope FS does, hopefully today.
10. I fear for the coming months, I really do... 72800 Exactly how I felt at least 12 months ago. Nice to know you can finally see reality. Remember my prediction last summer just before the signing of the get out of jail card? His goals so far might yet save us, but we're in for a struggle now and I think it'll be touch and go. Today's game with the nappy rippers is massive. On another note, it's nice to see nufc.com filling their site with ideas from here, like. The 'get out of jail card' bit you mention, and today they've even nicked the stuff from Rob W comparing points between this season and last season!!! 72824 Can I just add about that the prsospects of relegation are very real now precisely because the mackems are so shit? It looks more than likely that they are going to beat their previous record of 19 points. Last time this happened, all the points that even the wrost team would normally get were distributed to the surrounding teams, which effectively raised the relegation bar to 42 points, when West Ham were relegated. Can we really get 16 points or more in our remaining games? Probably, but what happens if we go through a crisis, like at the start of the season? With the debt we have taken on relegation would effectively kill this club. It's a worst case scenario maybe, but we would be fools to be complacent and not take the threat seriously. The fact that the mackems might be partly responsible would be the ultimate irony. 73369 You're saying here what I was on about in the summer, mate. I have to agree with you. Perhaps FS will stump up another £17m for another get out of jail card, just like he did in the summer. The day we we sign another striker to replace Owen will be the day you'll be told you were a nob, a wanker or a mackem to even be talking about relegation.
11. I agree, that's pretty much the same as I see him. He's going to have to learn to read the game really well to make up for those failings you list.
12. Oh well, why not suggest that he be 'given more time?'
13. You don't need a tin hat, we all want him to do the business.
14. Sounds like an ideal replacement for Robert tbh. 72744 *chomp* 72753 I'm only having a laugh man, you two are so easy to wind up. 72762 The plight of the club obviously means more to me than it does to you. Cheers
15. As Isegrim has said, I already pointed this out in another thread, didn't think it was worth starting a thread about it. I said.... Just goes to prove that I was correct earlier this week when I said they write shite.

17. Sounds like an ideal replacement for Robert tbh. 72744 So you think the description of Luque fits Robert??? I'd be interested in you telling me how someone who scoreed more, and created more goals than the rest of the midfield combined during is time at the club is 'shit', 'no interest' and has 'no bottle'. I suspect I won't get an answer, so I'll go and have my fodder and a few cans. Might check back, but then again, why bother.....
18. relegation is a possibilty now that Owen is out. 72595 Stand by to be ridiculed.
19. 1996-97, first ever team to enter the newly expanded Champions League [QF] for finishing runners up .... 72123 And Sir Bobby Robson has what exactly to do with that qualification? 72368 I wondered why you restricted it to the "great" Bobby Robson Incidentally, if any further amplification was needed how far backwards we have gone under fuckwit, despite adding englands no1 goalscorer for 17m quid - at the moment we have scored 18 goals in 18 games, in the first 18 games of Bobby Robson's last season, with the presence of the "poisonous" Bellamy and Robert we had scored 26 goals. We have a team that without his goals would be without doubt relegation material....that is a cost of 33m quid, before Owens fee, to achieve a team that if he is injured is well and truly struggling. 72375 More good points. No doubt some will take the piss. Seems to me that some people aren't really that bothered that we're shit.
20. Not sure what the point is. 72246 Don't worry, I didn't think you would.... 72369 Why should I be worried about you getting something completely wrong and babbling on about nowt of any importance?
21. yes we do. A proven quality performer, consider Emre is always croceked, and fuckwit wants to offload Bowyer, it doesn't leave much. Whats the odds that despite spending 50m quid last summer, we will go into this summer needing a replacement for Shearer, and a replacement for Robert ... oopps Luque ... along with a left back, centre back, an ageing Solano and hopefully not owen when the penny drops he is playing for a club going nowhere with a joke manager [although he won't say it out aloud like Bellamy did, not that it makes any difference other than amplify the fact that Bellamy actually still wanted to play for the club and has been hounded for it by the blind Souness backers] 72324 I note some of you are taking the piss. Well, as far as I can tell, everything LM says in this post looks like a good prediction to me.
22. Aye, I agree. So Graveson plus £8m for Luque looks like a tremendous deal to me. If true.
