  1. Apparently he'll be on about 3.5 million £ a year, with a payrise if Newcastle are promoted.

I'm afraid that bit sounds like bullshit given the current state of our finances. 3.5 million rupees maybe.

Honestly I think there probally is some truth in Løvenkrands signing with Newcastle. The whole wage thing is grossly overestimated though. Only fact from the Løvenkrands camp is, that he is in talks with an english club

  2. Several danish medias are now reporting that Løvenkrands have signed with Newcastle, and he have confirmed, that he is in talks with an english club. Apparently he'll be on about 3.5 million £ a year, with a payrise if Newcastle are promoted. Storied have come out in Ekstra Bladet this morning, and BT this afternoon.

So what you're saying is all the good 'work' we did reducing an unsustainable wage bill was so that we could re-sign an out of contract player on a wage that's higher than we were paying Martins? ;)

I'm only reporting the reported. Personally I do think that the number is a "bit" to high

  4. Aye, Sky's confirmed a season long loan deal for Xisco. So who does that leave us up front then? As I recall we're not exactly short up front amongst the reserves anyway, might mean Lovenkrands is deffo coming back then.

Word out of Denmark today is, that no clubs here wants to take Løvenkrands onboard, since he'd be on something like 25.000-27.000 £ a week.

  5. Can only be Lovenkrands

Martin Albrecthsen got released from Derby the other day as well.

he must be great being released from Derby ffs

I never did say he was great. But according to him, it was because the manager didn't like him, he didn't get to play, and eventually was released. He was great in the danish premiership, and did a decent job for WBA and later Derby.

But it has been pretty quite around him recent years.

But my point was, that the guy was free and a defender, so he MIGHT be an option.

  6. We have to get Lovenkrands back on board as soon as possible. Its getting to that point in the transfer window where clubs are getting desperate and I can see some of the lower prem sides thinking about taking a punt on him. I cant see what is standing in our way

New story today, about Løvenkrands. According to himself, he knocked back Villareal recently. He wants to stay in Britain, because of his children. He hasn't heard anything from the club as of yet, though.

  7. back to the matter of offering us what we don't have. yes, he has pace, but is pretty much a low rent 3 chances, 1 goal striker. offers little except pace and a few goals. Lovenkrands would have a field day against these kind of defences... and can create chances.

Quoted on Sky as being happy to come back as well.

Danish striker Peter Lovenkrands has revealed he would welcome the opportunity to secure a return to Newcastle United.

Lovenkrands left St James' Park at the end of last season after scoring three goals in 12 Premier League appearances following his arrival in January.

He has yet to find a new team and has recently been training with former club Rangers as he weighs up his options for the coming season.

Newcastle's caretaker boss Chris Hughton reportedly wants the 29-year-old back in his squad and Lovenkrands confirmed he would be keen to rejoin the club despite their relegation to the Championship.

    Interested

"Of course I would be interested in coming back to Newcastle," Lovenkrands told The Journal.

"I really enjoyed my time at the club and would certainly be interested in hearing what they had to say.

"As far as I know there has been nothing concrete from them although there has been a bit of interest. I have had a few offers from other clubs as well and there are a few things on the table at the moment for me.

"I know Newcastle are a Championship club now, but they still have great fans and I don't think they will be in the Championship for long."

Same story is doing the rounds in Denmark now. It reeks of desperation, and I think Newcastle has the better hand here.

  8. I think it's The Long Sands.

As most of you know we were asked, towards the end of 2007, to record a version

of the Geordie folk 'The Blaydon Races' for our beloved Newcastle United to

take the field to every home game. This is one of the biggest honours the band

has ever been given and we thank NUFC for their support. Anyway we have been inundated with your emails and MySpace's asking about a release. As far as we are aware a release will happen at some point this season, we are simply waiting to hold talks with the club about how and when it will happen. Keep checking the News area of the website for details. We should know a lot more in the next few weeks.

  9. Looks fucking useless at pointing.

    :D

What do you reckon the likelihood of this guys agent also being the other guys agent?

Ottesens agent is Gudlaugur Tomasson. Ken Ilsø has Marco Bennes

  10. Looks a bit like Taylor less the chest beating - couple of those tackles were made with the wrong foot but certainly looks physical and and quick but the most important attribute he possesses will be how cheap he is

SønderjyskE bought him for 80.000 more or less, and I'd imagine he could be bought for around 4-500.000

  11. Seems a no nonsense centerback, with a bit of pace in him. SønderjyskE are a rough playing and well organised team. He might have potential. But if there is any validity to the story, I have no idea

  12. Danish football site, bold.dk, today reports, that News Of The World is running a story about Peter Løvenkrands might return to Newcastle. His agent was wouldn't comment on it, which might mean there is something about it, or they are just happy to have his name thrown about, since he apparently is pretty desperate to be in contention for the national team again.

It's been pretty quiet around Løvenkrands since he left Newcastle.

Would be happy if he came back tbh. Decent player with a bit of pace.

He seems pretty desperate to find a new club, since he earlier this summer stated, that the danish premiership might was a valid option for him. He would be pretty motivated, since he's eyeing a place in the national team. Furthermore no other club have apparently shown him any interest

  14. stop showing off with your fancy looking letters man, it's embarrassing for the rest of us...

What do you know about the lad other than his positions?

Been highly rated for a couple of years, but still muck about in one of the small clubs. Seems to have a fair bit of pace, and alot of ability on the ball regarding dribling. He could probally do a good job, and wouldn't be awefully expensive

final product? decent finisher or a cross on him?

He seems a decent finisher, but doesn't get that many goals. But i don't really know that much about him, other than the big clubs in Denmark has been sniffing around him for the last 6 months, and that his club seems pretty resigned to loose him. Definatly one of the better players, and played for Herenveen before joining SønderjyskE

  16. Just heard on the telly, that Newcastle has scouts eying up ken Ilsø from SønderjyskE in the danish premiership, at todays match between Aalborg BK and SønderjyskE. He can play as a striker and a winger. Sheffield United are also present. The story should be pretty valid

  17. No loss for you guys-he's pretty shit. Has or had pace, but that is all. He was a poor man's Rhommedal, and he wasn't great at Charlton.

Dude.... Rommedahl is a spastic footballer. He has NO ability as a player, a part from pace, whatsoever. Comparing any living being to Rommedahl is a cardinal sin.

Furthermore, there has been no quotes from Løvenkrands regarding this story in BT and i haven't been able to find any other places

  18. In Denmark it's pretty comon to pick up another (english) team, apart from the your local, to support during the long horrid winterbreak. Also matches are mostly played on sunday, so we usually watch some games on the tv on saturdays, getting pissed, and warming up to a horrible early bus travel sunday morning.

My affection for Newcastle came, when Jon Dahl Tomasson was bought by Newcastle. I always had a sweet spot for him, and loved him as a player. Eventought that didn't work out for both, my affection for Newcastle didn't leave
