Except for the only one who was a referee, and he agreed that it was a penalty. Especially from where the ref was seeing it from. As he said, it can still be a foul even if there is a touch on the ball. And if it's a foul, then it's a red card. I think it was a fair enough decision from Styles. Maybe a little unlucky, but in no way is it an absolute clear cut call. Can't be too upset that it's gone against you, it was a very very risky move from Beye. Referee was seeing the back of the players, and from that angle, it's a penalty 95% of the time. Maybe if he saw it from the side he might not have given it, but even then, I'm pretty sure he would have given it and sent Beye off.

Just a bit ago, you where complaining about the tone, and now you're being the arse. Don't pretend to know how i would react, if that was the other way around, 'cause you cleary you have no idea. It was a SHIT decision, regardless of the risk and angles. Shit decisions do happend though, and is a part of football. Nevertheless, a shit decision. And i repeat. For the not so dense, it's pretty obvious why people is furious with Ashley. Because of the lies about tranfser money. The handling of Michael Owens contract. Creating a setup that sparks internal tensions, and undermining Kevin Keegan. Putting out a statement with lies in it. The lies about Keegans position within the club. Lies about Dennis Wise role in the tranfser dealings.
You come on here daily and you still don't get it. There are plenty of information on here, but still you just manage to take in what suits you, and then you post questions which only will wind people up.
The whole alleged Mike Ashely family threat is a good example. You claim his family have been threatend. It's been pointed out with valid sources that, that was not the case, but you still linger on the noition, that it is, and continue to debate from that point of view. That constitutes winding up.

Brondby are still strugling. Alot! Rosenborg hammered Djurgaarden 5-0 in there last Euro game at home. Brondby lacks firepower up front, and Rosenborg might be in a better physical condition. I think a draw is for this one
I fancy an away win, gave that one a wide berth.
I also think an away win is more likely, but I agree, it's a risky bet

Tell you what it is tonight, I know Celtic have a good home record in European Competition, but by all accounts this Aalborg side are the best to come out of Denmark for a good few years and if people are 100% honest Celtic are pure shite. Do they have one player of genuine quality. McGeady has no end product, and the Jap wants away. Who else is there, Venegoor can win headers?
The likelyhood is Celtic will sneak a 2-1 home win, but Aalborg have won every game this season, including easily sweeping Kaunas aside 4-0 who Rangers could barely muster a chance against, and also if you remember Aalborg battered Spurs at WHIL for 45 minutes last season in the UEFA Cup, went in 2-0 up and it could've been 10. I'd be lying if I said I knew any of their players, but when I've seen them in struck me they have an excellent team ethic, the side that played Villa in the Intertoto were the better team over two legs, and these are better than them. I reckon it would do no harm to stick a single 5a on Aalborg at 6/1 to win, so that's what I'm going to do.
Aalborg are woefull in the league, and have only won two games out of seven. Have been decent in euro though, but still, not as good as last year. Right back is injured and a very dodgy australian is playing it tonight (not Craig Moore though). Saganowski, on a loan deal from Southampton, is in no form what so ever.
I belive they can give Celtic a good run, if the get going early on. They do have some fight in them, but they're long of the form that won them the league last year. But if they conced early, i'm afraid they'll pour in

I do agree, that Aalborg is one of the better teams coming out of Denmark in the last few years

Isn't it really about depleting and all ready thin squad, when being told that 4-5 more bodies would come in?
And when they finally managed to piss Keegan of enough to leave, didn't people just finally had enough?
For me, sitting comfortably far away, it's about the fact that what was being said, now isn't true.
My point being that this only came out after the collision and that the lions share of this should fall at the feet of Wise and Llambias, not Ashley.
It's pretty hard to know who is at fault here, since, at least in my opinion, the club has come out with contradicting information. Since Keegan took over, it has been said over and over, that there is money for players. Alot of has been said by Ashley and also Wise, about who has the final saying over players. In the end, there didn't come in enough quality players, and the role of Keegan was even more obscure. It was all happy days, until the transfer window showed how things really where.
I can understand people going of the handle, when stability has been lacking since Robson, and also before Robson.
The whole DoF strategy doesn't ensure that at all. Managers get fired, when players, brought in by DoF's, fails. Infact, when players fail, you should fire the DoF, and you then have the same situation that Ashley talks about, he wants to avoid. It doesn't seem like the whole setup was thought through. You don't bring in a manager, and THEN a DoF to take care of player recruiting. It seems a bit backwards.

I think the problems begin with the hiring and firing though. Put it this way. Say Ashley hired.... Jonah Lomu as the DoF, Jonah and Keegler get on fine, Jonah submits suggestions, Keegler signs off on them and it's all happy days. Meredith Brook is Director, not Llambias, and wile she's a bitch, she's also sinner and a saint... so that's nice.
so everyone is happy at Camp St James', there's no press release about who's hiring players, there's no retort, there's no war of words. None of this happens if Ashley had hired the right people behind the scenes. Similarly, if the manager had been someone content to be a first team coach, or someone used to that system, there wouldn't have been any of the problems either.
See all the things you say are what's wrong with Ashley, have only appeared or been made apparent after the fall out of the Wise/Llambias - Keegan collision.

The only one I'd currently see as a sort of consolation. Directly coming from the Cruijff school of football. Still want getting rid of the numpties at the club though.
Laudrup is a bit of a sulk though, and i can't see him working in the current setup right now. He is a control freak, and wants his own staff, and alot of saying on which players there is brought in. Upside is though, that he has worked under a director of football before. But i honestly don't see him taking the job under the current conditions

I think surviving the next few years in good financial shape might be a victory in itself.
A few more clubs with stupid foreign backing behind them and then the whole Premiership becomes a house of cards (and the whole anti-debt/wage structure legislation looks more inviting).
It does completely suck for thoughts about regaining old Keegan or Robson days though.
That's in place in Italy too isn't it? If so, it doesn't contradict EU or Uefa regs.
I'm not sure, although they were looking at all sorts when the Italian league nearly bankrupt itself a few years ago. Most everything contradicts some EU or Uefa (or Fifa) regs though.
At least there maybe some comfort in seeing Man U glory hunters faces when/if Man City win the league.
Iirc the Italian system requires that the wages do not exceed a certain percentage of turnover. The penalties are relegation and so on. I think that is what happened to Fiorentina.
Not that I give a fuck at this moment in time.
In Denmark a club MUST have 25% of the monthtly wage budget in cash, otherwise the club may risk being declared bankrupt, and relegated out of the pro divisions. I guess, they could be heavily in debt, as long as they just still have 25% of the wage in bank.

Millionaire Ashley, sat in his Newcastle shirt among the travelling Toon Army fans, was caught downing a pint during Setanta's live coverage of United's defeat at Arsenal.
But Ashley should not have been drinking alcohol within view of the pitch, which falls into line with licensing laws at Premier League grounds.
Ashley, whose shirt had King Kev 1 printed on the back, appeared to down his drink from his pint glass and then leave his seat five minutes before the end with Newcastle already losing.
Alcohol is on sale at Arsenal and other grounds but fans are not allowed to take drinks back to their seats.
Newcastle issued a statement which said: "Mike was offered a drink which he thought was non-alcoholic so he took it in good faith."
Arsenal confirmed they do not sell non-alcoholic beer in the stadium.
I Denmark we fling beer at each other, when goals are scored, so this really is completly out of proportions for me

If I rewind 7 or 8 years; I'm leaving the house on a matchday and making my way to Anfield. There was no need to ring around in the morning; I'd just turn up and walk into one of two or three pubs around the ground, and would bump into people I knew. You knew where everyone would drink, and had done for years. The same faces, the people that made this club what it is. I can pop my head into those same pubs now, and I wouldn't recognise a soul. Those long standing supporters have now all but disappeared, replaced by families from all over, decked out in official replica sportswear and taking pictures of anything that moves. There's a smaller crowd of us left and tend to keep out of the way. We don't conform. Those areas around the ground have now been taken over by the new brigade, while the old guard retreat to pastures further afield.
As a Danish part time Newcastle fan, that really talks to me, and kinda pains me, 'cause i'd be one of those consumers when i attend Newcastle matches. I don't really like the idea of football supporters being made in to a tourist spectacle, when horders of people from abroad invades theire "home" in replica kits and photographing anyone that might be a genuine fan. I wouldn't want to be on the other end of that, but i wouldn't want to give up watching Newcastle either.
I've only been to St. James once, and I painfully remember a conversation with a geordie and his canadien girlfriend the day after. He had easily spotted we weren't from Newcastle, since we where ALL overly dressed in new merchandise.
He asked if we had been to the game, and I said yes. He's girlfriend asked, why they had not went to the game, and he bitterly said, that there was no way they could get tickets. We could on the, on the otherhand, easily get tickets. We just had to email a contact, and he'd sort us out. We got some nice 42£ lounge tickets, wich included a matchday program and a dinner voucher, and access to a bar on top of St. James. It felt ackward sitting there. Fully knowing, that we took up spaces from people whole really wanted to be there. But the club knew that we would spent silly money in every superstore we came accross, and therefor we were deemed good money.
The same thing with football is happening here in Denmark. Our stadiums are slowly transforming to all seaters, with more add space, and big screen tv's. The beer is getting more expensive, with lesser alchohol and in smaller portions. We are no where near the situation in England, but we're getting there. Some guy got slammed with a half a year ban from every ground in the country, for putting up a sticker.
I do sympatise with english supporters, that has been priced out of the stadiums.
I would never call myself a sooperfan, and I try to conduct myself with a bit of humility when i do post here, unlike some other supporters from abroad

That's the second time Agger is being brought up. First it was claimed he was a bargain, now he is tier one. Agger was an overpriced danish premiership player, who was a fringe national. Albeit a major talent, he still was only breaking into a wounded BIF side, in the danish premiership and a fringe national player. Agger was a gamble, and not a tier one player. The gamble has paid of, no doubt about it, but paying more than 6 million pound for a danish superliga player is lunacy in any capacity.
The boy has matured, and is playin VERY well. But he was not a bargain, nor a tier one player at the time of purchace

I'd love to know wtf Wise and Jiminez are doing right now, there's a few players at the Euro's I would have and we need to be up players agents arseholes right now to stand a chance, therefore more rumours would be abound as to who we might be getting but that's just not happening.

3. Villa
4. Sneijder
5. Sionko
6. The big black guy who played the holding midfield role for the Dutch hte other night, Engelaar I think?
I doubt that Sionko would make it in the PL. He hasn't excately set the world alight in the Danish Premiership. His good and all, but not the worldbeater he should be in the Danish Premiership.

It could potentially ruin his career. It's okay if you're Michael Owen, with trophies, a European player of the year award, spell at Real Madrid, England caps and goals galore, already on a hundred grand a week. Even if he hadn't recovered after being flown halfway around the world to see an expert he'd have found his way onto the MOTD couch (Shearer and Owen, now there's a punditry to make your balls shrivel in fear). But for a young lad like him?
Will he get flown to America to get his ACL fixed? Actually, might be better if he doesn't - a knee specialist in Bradford told me he was a better surgeon than Steadman. Then again he was an arrogant cockend, but you kinda have to in order to be a surgeon.
ACL and knee surgery in general, has gone leaps and bounds, the last year or so. In his age, he should be back at the same strength. Possibly he'll be stronger, since it might have been a problem with the knee in the first place, they haven't noticed. ACL damages are bad, but not as bad as two og three years ago
