  1. Kev stuck to his principles ...the problem with football these days is that most people dont have any ...

His principle of walking away from any job when the going gets tough.

How many jobs have Keegan walked out on?

  2. Allardyce dug his own grave imo. Selling all pace and creativity, left a pretty onesided Newcastle team. That might have worked at Bolton, where the put that system in place over years. At Newcastle it was a reckless gamble, and he didn't take his time, to put that system in place. Furthermore his scientific approach to football didn't stand the test. The players wheren't in any decent condition, and that proved on the pitch. It's all well with ice bath and advanced statistics on passes and running patterns, but when the cardio isn't in place, it's a bit of waste.

On top of that i just think he might have been way to stubborn for Ashley's liking.

That the club doesn't have succes now, doesn't mean that the sacking of Allardyce wasn't the right thing to do. I think most people would agree on, that what has happend aftwards, is a major farce. But who's to say, that it wouldn't have been Allardyce that had walked out on Newcastle? Who's to say, that Dennis Wise wouldn't have been appointed if Allardyce was still here?

To many if's to say, that Allardyce should have had the chance to put his system in place. He failed pretty fast imo, and he's inability to adjust tacticts just sealed his fate

  3. according to one danish newspaper, Newcastle are trailling croatian national Danijel Pranjic, from Herenveen, along with Real Betis and Sevilla. His agent, which is the dane Soren Lerby, says that Newcastle are also in the frame.

Have no clue if there is any validity to this story, but Newcastle do get more press here abouts these days, after the Løvenkrands signing.

  4. Club are in dialogue with NUSC but find it strange you have to pay a tenner to support the team.

Club wants to forget KK and move on, but NUSC insist on talking about him.

Says NUSC get 'more credence than they deserve'

An incredible unworthy and unwise dig at NUSC. The cluc shouldn't question the NUSC ways of business. That's seems more like a way of discrediting NUSC. It stinks of let sleeping dogs lie, but there are questions unanswred regarding the structure of Newcastle United. Eventhough they don't want to talk about it, doesn't mean they have lied about Keegan and Wises position.

I find this whole talk about it costing money to be a part of NUSC completly futile and pointless, well... even childish. You rarely join any organisation, that takes care of your interests, for free. In Denmark it's pretty comon to have supporters clubs, and they cost money. Money spent on administration and merchandise. Llambias is bang out of order, commenting that.

He should sit down with the NUSC and put forward his grievance. Not through the media.

And the whole debt thing is in the air again, i see. Nice one

  5. How on Earth Kinnear can bring himself to say these things, after this horrendous windows. And why in the hell, would anyone gain anything from waiting untill the seasons is over, before the club will have a dialog with fans.

More bullshit, and now people can basically look forward to Ashley being Director of football instead of Wise. Smashing

  6. Dennis Wise is supposed to be running the transfer arm of the Newcastle business from London on a salary of £1.2m a season.

Now I am indeed baffled. Between all the lies, and misinformation this comes out. If Ashley really where concerned about the wage bill, why in the hell, would he stik Dennis Wise on 1.2 million a fucking season. I don't even dare to think about Llambias salary

  7. If Mike Ashley would just come fucking clean. Tell it like it is. He should have done that from day one. Been honest! This is bullshit. January 1. Newcastle where in for a couple of players. Even on Monday Newcastle we're, allegedly, in for that french right back. Come today, Ashly is skint. Not a dime in his pocket. I hardly think he lost 2 billion overnight.

He might have lost the money, but a week ago, people where lead to believe that there where money for transfers. Just tell the fucking truth someone, and you might not end up being beheaded

  8. You forgot to mention Preben Arentoft, truly a great Dane, he was in the 69 side that last won us a trophy.

Bit before my time, and actually didn't know he had played for Newcastle. But apparently he did a better job, than Pingel and Kristensen.

  9. Hurra. I expect sooooo much from his looking back at his time at Schalke....

yet another exciting dane, trotting his stuff at St. James. Løvenkrands follows big names as Jon Dahl Tomasson, Bjørn Kristensen and Frank Pingel

Why do I detect a slight hint of sarcasm....

    ;)

TBH Jon Dahl Tomasson actually did go on to do good for himself. Pingel and Kristensen on the other hand....

Løvenkrands should be able to do alot better than those

  10. It's about time the club fined every player, who can't either keep his mouth shut or keep his manager / agent on a leash. This is getting ridiculous. Sadly i suspect the regime might gain from this mutiny

  11. i said this 2 years ago. sell geremi and buy a winger who can cross the damn ball. your midfield is so bad that even john terry and rio ferdinand would look average playing as center backs.

You make it sound, oooooh, so easy

hes a barca fan, pretty much every player in the world wants to play for them so it is easy

    for them

And you're Newcastle. You pay insane amounts of money to average players to play for you, give them massive salaries, and then they never want to leave and you are stuck with a terrible team. Funny how most other teams don't struggle to get rid of bad players, I wonder why that is...

And you don't think we fucking know this. It's not like the transfer deparment of NUFC is a democracy where web board members chip in to buy world class players.

Like we fucking don't know we need a winger and that Geremi is abysmal. But you picked a perfect time to point it out for us.

  12. 1628: Drama at Newcastle. Referee Alan Wiley has disallowed a goal for the hosts after Lucas Neill sliced Fabrico Coloccini's cross from the right horribly into his own net - but Michael Owen was adjudged to have pushed James Collins. Would have been a belting own goal.

Taylor had a hand in the back of some ginger Hammer, and he fell over like Ronaldo in a Ferrari. Soft freekick, and goal disallowed. Taylor shouldn't have had his hand there though

  13. Lovenkrands is another like nzog who has pace to burn but really is a headless chicken with no real attributes other than being fast. Much like your Rommedahls and others who made a name for themselves purely on their ability to run fast. Again like our Le Sulk he used to chip in with the odd goal, quite often against Celtic, and this for many hid the fact that he was very average.

I'd say Løvenkrands has more ability than Rommedahl, since he's able to go left and right, where Rommedahl can only head straight at full speed. Furthermore Løvenkrands can put in a cross, where as Rommedahl is just useless

  14. What's Lovenkrands like?

Injury prone apparently and obviously not in good form at Schalke. He's training with Rangers at the minute so I'd be surprised if he doesn't re-sign for them.

He have said, he won't be signing for Rangers again, though he apparently still has a home in Glasgow. He is pacy as hell, and on his day, can be a very very good player. He've had some decent games for the national side. It not working out for him in Schalke, can be of various reasons and not just injuries. Alot of players have failed at Schalke, and alot of them have had injuries.

I'd welcome Løvenkrands at Newcastle, since he'd come for for free, and short term could do a job. He can play as a striker, and cover on both wings

  15. Del pede, sorry I haven't replied to you before, I genuinely haven't seen a post from you that would require a response.

I understand what you are saying and I think we are in essence saying the same thing.

I believe KK did have the final say in whether the players he was presented with signed or not. The problem with that is a manager is never going to turn down a player. Why would he?

The real question is did KK agree to work within Ashleys policy of buying young players with potential that will appreciate in value or not? If he did then his demands to sign high profile names would be out of order and he would be in the wrong.

There is also the question of reducing the wage bill. Was KK made aware of that or not? There are a few players at Newcastle who have not been playing regularly who are on mega money, it is in the clubs long term interest to put a sensible wage structure in place.

All of this stuff needs to be answered before anybody is condemned.

Most on here have already made up their minds though.

Plenty of managers have said no to players. Either because they weren't needed or weren't good enough. Keegan didn't have the chance to say no to Xisco and Nacho. Players he didn't want. He wanted Warnock, and he wanted Malouda, and he wanted Lassana Diarra. That is of course allegedly, but it makes sense regarding to where the squad is weak. The club tried to sell Barton to Portsmouth, and Keegan didn't want it, since he said he would support Barton, and the squad was thin allready. Furthermore, Barton texted Sky Sports to say, he didn't wanna leave Newcastle, so that is basically cut and dry.

I don't think Keegan said yes to work within this policy that was only maked clear, after Keegan left, and Ashley poured his heart out. Newcastle publicised on their own website, that they would back keegan in the coming transfer window. That he would have a kitty available. That proved not to be right. He didn't oppose it either, 'cause it would be a sensible thing to do. Get young players in on the cheap, that are players for the future. But you still have to maintain the current squad, or the future might look bleak. Keegan said that, the club appeared to agree, but it didn't happen.

Regarding putting a sensible wage structure in place, you say it yourself. Long-term! It wasn't that hard to put in place. Don't be an idiot when discussing wages with players. Don't offer them retarded amount of money. But you still have to pay the players, that are allready on contract, eventhough they are dead wood. But you can still sign good player, without paying them the same wages as Owen, Viduka and Smith. Reducing the wage bill should have been done over time. Not in one window.

At the end of the days, this is just a case of conection the dots. Look in the news archive on the official club website, and you'll see the club contradicting it self.

I'm not making Keegan out to be a saint. Maybe we all would have been better of, if he had decided to stay, and fight it from within the club. But it would never had been a fair battle, trying to win games, with players you didn't sign, and also with Llambas wanting to smack you.

There are so much evidence, that points out that the club has contradicted itself. So no matter what Keegan did, the club has also lied to supporters of Newcastle. People have been mislead, and now they're being feed bullshit stories, through a middleman.

So I get what you are saying. People are quick to back Keegan, but it's more than that. They dismiss what the club has done.

But thanks for a well thought reply, Danny

  16. Some on here could watch a video of KK agreeing to work with what hes given and then saying you know what fuck it Ive got my money Im off and still blame Ashley.

Again what exactly did Keegan do wrong?

It also says a lot that 'Arry would only go to Spuds if he was in charge IMO.

I would say only KK and Ashley really know. However if he agreed to work as a head coach rather than a manager and then fucked off because he had unrealistic expectation for signings I would say he has doner a lot wrong.

And here you go again. Winding up. When the arguments hits in a bit, you'll be off. We've been over this, and not once have you replied to my arguments. You simply won't comprehend what has happend at Newcastle.

Keegan was appointed as manager. MANAGER. That was before Wise was brought into the club.

Keegan voiced his concern over the Wise situation, but was then assured - which also was announced on the clubs official website - that he, he being Keegan, had the final say in players.

The club posted on their official website, that Keegan would have a substantial transfer kitty come August. That did not happend.

The last tranfser window showed that Keegan had NO saying in what players went in and out.

Joey Barton texted Sky sports, to say, he didn't want to be sold, that why we knew they tried to sell him.

More fact. More things you can look up. You wanna let it sink in, or just fade away, and come back with another WUM thread tomorrow.

  17. Tom said this would happen and I accept you are all angry. You dominated on the introduction of barton and if it had happened earlier you may have taken all three points.

JK hesitated to put him on because of what happened on that touch line.

I am sorry that you lost but I honestly think this is the reason why you did.

Why don't you reply to acrossthepond's post? Or are to many arguments to much for you to handle. Typically of you to leave a thread as soon as you have to reply to solid arguments.

  18. Not really. I am a scholar of the game. I have forgotten more about football than most on here will ever know.

Two things. Forgotten is the word that makes sense. You seem to forget alot of things. Another thing. The game itself has nothing to do with the situation in Newcastle. A situation you simply refuse to comprehend. Because you'd rather be on the wind up, than carry an actual debate based on facts
