  1. Don't want him, seems to run about all the time without actually doing anything. :icon_lol:

To be fair, he was a great player and turned in some awesome performances for the danish national team, but the whole Real Madrid adventure turned some screws. Have completly lost the plot as of late

  2. .cock has BS quoted as saying Hangeland is not a player he has watched.

vg.no (norwegian newspaper) has reported that BS has told Jim Solbakken, the agent of Hangeland, that they are interested in Hangeland. Of course that's what the Hangeland Agent is saying.

  3. I just think that's horrible logic. I do understand what you're saying, but I can't get my head around the whole "he needs to cost more for us to be interested" argument.

I was just about to say he's the type of player that Bolton would sign :baby::baby::baby::lol::lol: so I'll let you win this one. If he does come here and is shit, mark my words that I shall resurrect this thread ;);)

If he is shit and were bottom of the table after two games then let be me the first to jump on the bandwagon and say

    SACK THE BOARD

    GET SAM OUT

WHATS THAT IN YOUR POCKET SAM - A BROWN ENVELOPE

I think his height and champions league experience is a good reason to go for this guy.

So what?? Aaron Hughes has those as well aaaaand has the much-desired (so we are told) Prem experience. Scandinavia must be littered with players who have Champions League experience; it means nowt imo.

I am not calling him shit btw. All I am saying is that for £3m he mustn't be too good or he would have gone elsewhere - surely???

Not alot of players with Champions League experince in Scandinavia since Rosenborg are the only team to regularly play CL. In Denmark AaB, BIF and FCK have been in the tournament ONCE!

To be fair, Hangeland has just recently gotten to be a hot name, after winning the league with FCK. Before that, he played for a mediocre team i Norway. He is only 26, and there are a bit of fuss about him, so it wouldn't surprise me to see him leave. Another reason to why he hasn't yet, is that FCK simply haven't accepted any offers.

He is one of the best players, and the best players get lifted at the end of the season. But paying 3 mill £ + for a player from the danish leagye, is a bit of a gamble in my opinion, considering how many who returns without considerable succes. That's probally why alot of clubs have declined to pay that kinda money

  4. The lad further up the page was quoting £3m. If he's any good that's nowt for a decent defender. We shouldn't have any problem convincing him to come here either as I imagine the money in the Premiership pisses all over whatever he gets in Denmark.

These £3m defenders are just Wigan/sunlun/Fulham type of players iyam.

:baby: Do we have to be getting ripped off for you to be happy? :baby:

I'd rather we took a chance on a Danish international for £3m than spunked £7m on a big-name-but-not-big-enough-for-a-big-team Italian or Spaniard or whatever. I think you've got completely the wrong attitude - we should be looking for good quality and good value not people with big price tags just for the sake of it.

If the guy is good, then surely he would be picked up by a good team - especially if the price is only £3m!! The price indicates he aint that good as he hasn't gone elsewhere.

We should be aiming around £5m for good defenders imo.

A price tag of 3 mill £ in the Danish Premiership IS very big money, considering players usually go for around 350.000 £ at most here. Had the likes of Daniel Agger played in Germany Liverpool would've had to double the money they paid. Scandinavien players are cheap, but not necessarily crap.

  5. Anyone know anything about him (outside of his FM stats)?

Without a doubt on of the best defenders in the danish premiership. Cracking header, and seems to be able to play the ball also, and he can play in midfield also. He've had an outstanding season with FCK, where they won the league. He've played 33 international games for Norway.

He's a good player, but if he can have succes in the Premier league is uncertain, and instant succes is very unlikely. He is big, strong, good tackler and good header, but the Danish premiership is one thing. Not alot of players have come from the danish premiership and gotten instant succes in England. Daniel Agger is the only one in ages.

He could be a good player, but an instant strengthening of the squad he is not.

Also - it is very unlikely that FCK will let him go for anything less than 3 mill. £. They're about to enter the CL qualification, and the need him. So unless there are big bucks in for him, he's staying.

Michael Gravgaard didn't go to West Ham last season, and they had an 3 mill offer in for him

  6. wont happen. sam made it clear he needs defenders

Hangelaand playes central defence for FCK. He apparently CAN play in a defensiv midfield, but haven't yet in the danish premiership. He is one of the best defenders in denmark, but that doesn't at all mean, he'll make it in the premier league

I think he was talking about the Baptista link there.

    Ooooh... my bad

  7. wont happen. sam made it clear he needs defenders

  8. SAM ALLARDYCE wants Norwegian centre-half Brede Hangeland to shore up his Newcastle defence.

He hopes to land the 6ft 4in defender in the next few days and will pay FC Copenhagen about £2.3million.

Hangeland, 26, has been looking to move to England but was overlooked by the likes of Everton.

However, Allardyce thinks he can be a major addition to the St James' Park squad.

The Toon boss has already landed Czech Republic ace David Rozehnal and has England Under-21 star Stephen Taylor available, but he wants Hangeland to fight for a place.

Hangeland, born in America, can double up as a defensive midfielder, but Newcastle want him as a powerful solution to their old problems at the back.

Norway international Hangeland's natural leadership skills made him skipper of FC Copenhagen, where he has been a regular for two seasons.

He is under contract until September 2009, but Copenhagen will let him leave for the right money and Newcastle are negotiating.

And Allardyce's agents already have been in touch with the player's camp to push the move along and it should be done in the next few days.

I don't think he'll get hangeland for 2.3 mill. I'd bet he'll have to go a bit over 3 mill for Hangeland. FCK are shit wealthy, and didn't sell Gravgaard for 3.2 mill in winter. Unlike most danish clubs, they don't have to sell players. They can wait for the right offer.

  9. wonder if he is worth going for

Would be very difficult to say. Had a good season in the danish premiership, but not alot of players from the danish premiership have gone and gotten big succes in the Premier League. Daniel Agger must have been the only on in years. I think he'll be to expensive, and priced around 3 mill £ since FCK doesn't need to sell him. I'd look elsewhere. Much to uncertain if he'll be a succes

  10. Owen/Ameobi?

    Viduka/Luque?

    Martins?/Gudjohnsen

    Barton/Zoggy/Duff

    Butt/Emre? Hangeland?

    Dyer/Milner

    Bridge?/Edgar

    Rozehnal/Huntington/Ramage

    Beye?/Taylor

    Geremi/Solano

    Given/Harper/Krul

A left-back, holding-role midfielder and another central defender will do, tbh.

Hangeland is actually a central defender, but apparently can play as a defensive midfielder. He in central defence all season for FCK in the Danish premiership. Strong header, but doesn't look that fast. He playeds alongside Michael Gravgaard, that was a toon target earlier.

IMO going for Hypia would be the wiser choice, instead of Hangeland. They have similiar qualities, but Hypia have at least proven himself in the Premier League, though Hangeland is alot younger
