Locked down too late, didn't lock down properly AND opened back up too early, everything was a shambles.
-
It's crazy, all along I've applied my own rules and been extremely risk averse (way more so than just staying "alert") shit I even unilaterally locked down 3 weeks before the Gov't said shit (I work with French/Spanish folks) so understood what was coming, yet I can't undertake a very low risk visit (or be visited) to/by family but I can go to the pub. I am no less cautious, yet loads are, have been all along and will continue to be. As I said before, they can fuck off, I'll continue to be extremely careful and will abide by my own strict rules. On the subject of the French/Spanish folks - we weren't ever properly locked down to start with, compared to what they went through.

He can fuck off, if I can still go to the pub (which I don't) I will visit my son and D-in-law (live 5 minutes walk round the corner) he's working from home, she's a veterinary nurse and is fully PPE'd when at work (and doesn't use public transport)

Is that really true though, no-one knows yet what potential effect on young'uns is
-
It's not an NHS app though is it, it's Dildo Harding's baby (Serco) isn't it

It was only in May so fair do's, easy to miss in your research if you spent less than the 20 seconds I did. https://www.scmp.com/news/china/science/article/3084634/china-adds-long-term-organ-damage-list-effects-covid-19

They're a test case for landlords getting their cash, nothing more

Thing that gets me is the "it's only the old and ill" from people in their late 40's early 50's, Aye mate and until there is a cure/vaccine each day you're getting closer to the danger zone as well ! Not to mention how many people who don't even know that they have an underlying condition. It's here for the foreseeable I reckon and sooner that's accepted and planned for/adapted to the better IMO, all this "we must get back to the old normal" is mental, if we do great ! but don't count on it. No way am I changing what I do in terms of distancing/interaction etc.
-
It would appear so, but that could be down to the demographic of the infected being younger, it can still climb the age ladder and there is now evidence of "long covid" in some young'uns but still not a lot of quantifiable evidence to truly know. Former colleague of mine was telling me, the Dr thinks that his lad had it in March, mid teens cross country runner, and he's still affected and still not right.

Read an article by a doctor few days ago (can't find it again now !!) who said when it all kicked off, they hadn't a clue what they were dealing with and they were swamped but have learned what treatments help alleviate the condition before it gets critical and that perhaps helps explain a reduction in deaths/ICU levels (so far) and the fact they're not seeding care homes with it !!

Certainly hope so

Latest theory on yank-twitter, he'll resign before the election, Pence will become short term President and will give him a blanket Presidential pardon !!

Evidently, down in the detail there's $300 million in loans coming due over next 4 years he has personally guaranteed.

Whilst I wholeheartedly endorse the sentiment, and would love to pile on, it's not as plain as that in his case, he previously worked for them as a Senior Exec and will no doubt have exercised his share options, it's not like he just dived in to grab shares recently to profiteer (unlike the rest of the corrupt Tory cunts). (Edit - basically what Ewerk said but I hadn't seen his post !!)

iPhone 6s can’t download it 🤷🏼♂️

Dean Jones RIP only 59 !!
-
It was obviously his time, it was just a case of bovine intervention.
-
But what if it does ??? all options need to be explored
-
But it is probably inevitable, this fucking thing is probably not going away any time soon, there's no ideal answer but persisting with the "old normal" in the face of the carnage is madness, if it's five hundred and eleventy bazillion (copyright P. Patel) that's what it is. Someone in Government needs to grasp that fact and work out options, ploughing on is just folly.
-
The sooner Government(s) realise this is deep shit and it ain't going away any time soon and plan a "new" way of living/working the better. Those that do will be ahead of the game whilst those mired in "getting back to old normal" will continue to lurch from fuck up to fuck up and wave to wave for the foreseeable. Those that continue to deny that, are brewing up one hell of a backlash when the reality becomes apparent (bit like what'll happen with Brexit for us). As an aside, I reckon these repeated "armed forces" references are so they can (and will) get army on the streets in advance of Brexit because of Covid and can then avoid having to get them suddenly out for the unrest that I fear is guaranteed because of Brexit, it'll all be played as down to Covid (and the EU obvs). My paranoia rules just now :-) (but I did read Shirer's Rise and Fall a few times and we're well into it).
-
What Gemmill said, we start a year earlier than most anyway, Gov't need to work it out (gawd help us!!!) set up remote to keep education ticking over until this is under control. It's a new situation, needs new answers, shoehorning "normal" back won't work.
-
Notice he mentions the "armed forces" again in his bullshit answer

Condolences Wyki, it's a shitter. Am pretty certain this non-Covid treatment block is all part of a "NHS can't cope" strategy so we'd better find another way - Oh how about private insurance. Cunts !!!

If only there'd been clear and comprehensive rules for the various levels of the pandemic from the start. We'd have known what to do from the start, it's at 2 you can do xyz, it's at 3 you can do abc all they'd need to do is publish the levels. Making it up as they go along (and all the backtracks) has worked so well Oh aye make masks mandatory at shops etc, and clamp on it hard with on the spot fines/no-entry, short term security/labour intensive but it wouldn't take long for it to sink in. Friends have just come back from Turkey (rather them than me going through an airport/abroad like) and papers to fill in on flight, where they were staying etc handed in at immigration/visa desk, temperature check as they entered terminal, came home and absolutely nowt on return !!!!
