Anyone got the feeling we're going to be good this season?
Wavey Davey replied to Row Z's topic in Newcastle Forum
Honest answer is: I don't know. And I'm excited about that. -
Hello there. I'm not exactly a new poster here (some of you may remember me in the early days, may even remember me asking for where to go for my stag do) but I have decided to stop lurking for news and contribute regulary. Soooo.... You're gonna be see me a round for a little while. Hope I don't get too annoying. Cheers!

Thanks folks. Appreciate it.

Hello all. Been a long time since I posted here (if you can remember me, that is.) Just wondering something: It's my stag-do tomorrow and I will be heading into the toon for a bit piss-up. I want to get into a pub which shows the hookie matches so we can see the match. I am aware that I could buy a ticket, but there are a lot of us and three or for of them would rather swallow their own vomit than pay to get into SJP. (Liverpool and Man U. fans respectivley). Any help would be great. Thanks.

You're not being told to buy anything. But as the response to this award has shown, hardly anyone has even heard of Antony and the Johnsons, which is a shame because it's good music. 30861 What he said.

Cool. I got it wrong. Still don't give a toss about nationalities.
-
Fair enough. Music is subjective like that.

Except for Joe Whiley. Admittedly, she's the only one I can think of off the top of my head but its not exactly NO-ONE either. You think Nina Simone's 'Cutting Edge" and "arty" do you? Because that's the nearest person I could put in as a comparison. It's soulful, rich and unique (and I'm aware that 'unique' doesn't neccessarily mean good. Take 'The Streets' for example) with a voice so mature and passionate for a 32-year old lad. I've heard bands like the Kaisers, Hard-Fi et al many, many times. They're Radio 1 fodder. Alright, so he's camp as Christmas and the Lyrics are a little suspect but the music is sooooo good. Therefore I'm not gonna hold that against them. As for the nationality thing, couldn't give a toss. M.I.A. (I think that's what they're called) are Trinidad & Tobago. What's their excuse? British commonwealth?

Well chuffed for them! Love the album. Love the voice. Different, but I like it.

Film/moving picture show you most recently watched

Agreed - best film I've seen this year, easily. 18616 Saw it last night. It was good. You could sort of see where things were gonna end up, though. Couldn't fault much else. -
CKY Antony and the Johnsons Grand National An eclectic mix, if ever there was one.
