Hello all. Been a long time since I posted here (if you can remember me, that is.) Just wondering something: It's my stag-do tomorrow and I will be heading into the toon for a bit piss-up. I want to get into a pub which shows the hookie matches so we can see the match. I am aware that I could buy a ticket, but there are a lot of us and three or for of them would rather swallow their own vomit than pay to get into SJP. (Liverpool and Man U. fans respectivley). Right, just saw this film last night and I have to say... Wow This is the most visually spectacular film I have ever seen. Sod Star Wars, sod Sin City and all them lot. This has the visuals to beat them all. The CG element is something that would make WETA and ILM fill their pants with computer graphics-based excitement. An entertaining thrill-a-minute ride.... BUT... ...It's for fans and people who have played the game only. Sure, you can get lost in the thrills n' spills of this gorgeous movie, but if you don't know the characters, you're not going to care at all. The movie makes no effort in trying to introduce you to them. The part where the good guys square off against the summoned demon will have you jumping in your chair as each one does their stuff. However, the amount of times I had to answer the "who's that?" question from the missus in that sequence alone would send a saint into a spin. Watch it on your own or with people who have played the game, for your sake. Apart from a few dodgy dialogue scenes (Hey, its japanese. What'd you expect?) This film has plenty to keep you coming back to watch it again and again. One question though: I know the in-game themes made a comeback (The victory tune was a welcome surprise) but where was Red XIII's theme? Cosmo Canyon had my favourite music in the whole game, and I really wanted to hear the revamped version of it. *sigh* ah well...
