This would be a great way of re-establishing the bond between the team and the fans. Pay all players a flat £10K a week. At the end of the season the season ticket holders fill in a multiple choice card which allocates the remainder of a pre-determined figure among the squad. Maybe a band system where E equals no extra up to A which would add the maximum. Much like the Fantasy Football you'd have £X amount to share among the squad. Injured players would be encouraged back sooner *ahem* and genuine cases would stilll be on a cracking retainer. Ok there are some holes, and it's too sensible to ever be implemented but whaddya think?

It's a fair point....Owen didn't exactly need long to get scoring did he? I don't like the chaos new managers seem to cause to the 70% good bit of the team. They always seem to tinker with the wrong bit and we still end up with a rotten 30% or even more. A great manager would have got all the squad champing at the bit so that injuries would have less effect IMO. I think Souness's behaviour (not talking to the press) also suggests that he's lost the fight. Hopefully the next manager won't have to deal with Shearer's ego too. I think the guy's a legend but I'm not sure how much help his prescence is sometimes.

I'd LOVE IT if he came back... (until we find a long term replacement)
-
I'm not saying it's ONLY bad luck..... I agree with you about not using "bad luck" as an excuse, but I don't know what else you'd call losing our 2 best players in the same match....
-
The only curse I can see is that of Souness. 72711 But Souness has only been here just over a year....the bad luck goes back way further than that.
-
I disagree, Shearer gets picked because everyone else is even worse
-
Yes, I was more patient than you were. As far as I'm concerned now, I've lost every scrap of faith in him. Not only for being bad tactically, but for being such a bloody jinx.

I didn't mention either Owen or Souness so..... I guess the whingey threads will dry up when we stop being cack

Please fuck off. In the last fortnight, the team and management have been paid over a million pounds to: Score NO goals Win NO matches Get NO points Provide NO entertainment. I'd love to know how much effort went into accomplishing these dizzying achievements. *Goes back to earning a living* BTW Happy New Year folks

Well....the height thing's pretty fair tbh

Console yourself with the fact that I was one of the silly fuckers that paid 80 quid for it about a month ago. Arsenal to score 3 or 4. Is it bad to be looking forward a bit to seeing a team that can play football? 66503 As I predicted; best 30 quid Ive ever spent 66567 To be fair you had everything covered.... [MysticMegVoice]You may or may not win the lottery tonight![/MysticMegVoice] See, I'm a genius too!

Flogging a deceased equine It's hard to still be funny by series 3. Ricky Gervais is a wise man.

Try contacting the Ticket Office. I saw an advert for season tickets last week on ITV. When I had mine, I bought it in the middle of a season and that's when we were doing well!

You tempted like? 63320 Nope It seems like a lot of money for a fairly soul destroying pastime. If the effort was there or the price was lower, I'd be there, but over a grand a year for me and the Duchess to watch that cack from 300 feet up in the air? Nee chance. 63447 Over a grand a year? Is it £500+ to sit up there like? Bliddy hell. Mine's about £470 but it's a canny bit better view (N. E. Corner). What worries me is with all the money that's been spent they might put them up again next year. Unless we qualify for the Champions League that is 63465 Some of the good seats are cheaper than the new ones My dad's mate has a fantastic seat and it cost less than ours did. I think it's fair enough for the people who have been there for years and years to have the best seats, but us Johnny-come-latelys are getting ripped off for a piss poor view. The atmosphere's non-existant up there too. The cup games I've been to (where I had a better seat) were LOADS better. I think that CL spot's looking a bit unlikely too and I'll be staggered if we keep hold of Owen and Given. *cries*

So you don't like Stevie Wonder then!

Football is piss poor at the moment, I have turned my interests to my own warmth and watching Spiderman on DVD. It is both cheaper and more rewarding. 63309 I blame the fans. 63316 I blame the city. 63337 I blame the boogie. 63341 I just can't control my feet. 63347 Where has my love gone? How can I go on? It seems dear love has gone away. Where is my spirit? I’m nowhere near it, Oh yes, my love has gone astray. But I’ll blame it on the sun, The sun that didn’t shine, I’ll blame it on the wind and the trees. I’ll blame it on the time that never was enough, I’ll blame it on the tide and the sea, But, my heart blames it on me. Who poured the love out? What made this bitter doubt? Is peace not here for me to see? Wish I could tell you, But, words won’t come for me to speak. But I’ll blame it on the sun, That didn’t fill the sky, I’ll blame it on the birds and the trees. I’ll blame it on the day that ended once too soon, I’ll blame it on the nights that could not be, But, my heart blames it on me. (background)...yeh, yeh, yeh, ooh, Your heart blames it on you this time.

We can now save our energies for the Champions League push!

I agree. RIP Bob Wilson was just on the news saying he'd heard George Best described as a son of instinct not a son of logic. Sounds about right to me.
