1. There was only ever one single person in the whole of NUFC as an organisation who wanted Nobby out...sadly for us it was the manager!
2. To be fair if i was a young player i suspect i'd imagine i could improve and progress better at a club with coaches who aren't shite!!!
3. The way the aussies have started this innings and with Warne bowling at us second innings on a surface that will take more spin i think we could do with losing some time today and tomorrow!!!
4. Agree. Whilst i think any people overdoing drugs are idiots, theres no doubting that paritcularly in days gone by rock stars could write, create and perform live to amazing standards despite being off their tits! So if they can do it and want to take drugs, thats their choice and to be fair with the older rock stars it was always about their music with the drink and drugs a side issue. With Doherty its about the fact he's a prick and a smack head with the music as a minor aside.
5. Agree about the brits, the fact that (including take that) Robbie williams has more brits than every other group or singer since the awards started renders them quite possibly the biggest joke going aside from 12 year old stuff like smash hits. As for mercury, i agree theres nothing wrong with helping up and coming artists as long as they're good, its no good helping out some of the shite they've awarded it to in the past!
6. Lets hope for back out, quick wicket, back in, back out and another wicket then back off again as the rain causes problems for the aussies rhythm!!!
7. That is some shite music thats won there!!! To be fair i don't take any awards seriously, they all have problems one way or another and this one is no different for selcting shite music for reasons other than what is actually best. Some awards go for whats popular or selling the most, some go for whichever groups or singers teenage girls fancy and others try to be really clever and superior and give it to obscure stuff whether its any good or not.
8. Except for Joe Whiley. Admittedly, she's the only one I can think of off the top of my head but its not exactly NO-ONE either. You think Nina Simone's 'Cutting Edge" and "arty" do you? Because that's the nearest person I could put in as a comparison. It's soulful, rich and unique (and I'm aware that 'unique' doesn't neccessarily mean good. Take 'The Streets' for example) with a voice so mature and passionate for a 32-year old lad. I've heard bands like the Kaisers, Hard-Fi et al many, many times. They're Radio 1 fodder. Alright, so he's camp as Christmas and the Lyrics are a little suspect but the music is sooooo good. Therefore I'm not gonna hold that against them. As for the nationality thing, couldn't give a toss. M.I.A. (I think that's what they're called) are Trinidad & Tobago. What's their excuse? British commonwealth? 30741 that was the papers description - some of the jury though they'd lose all cred if they rubber stamped the kaisers.. 30789 Hyped bands shouldn't win it. I love the Kaiser Chiefs but they're already one of the bigger UK acts. Nothing that gets played to death on Radio 1 and has taken up resiodency in the top 10 should be considered. It's meant to be a leg up for under-appreciated acts, not a boost to already massive sales, that's what the Brits are for. Good on the jury I say. 30796 Surely their job is to pick the album they think is the best, regardless of whether it happens to be an already big selling album played all the time on radio, or some obscure album hardly anybody in the mainstream has heard of? Though in music there no way you can really pick a "best" album as its an art form and all comes down to opinion!
9. You can guarentee it will just stop raining as tea finishes!
10. We really could do with some serious rain here! We usually always get early wickets and then we have the 5 bowlers to get on top of them. Now they are off to a flyer and we are missing Jones, though to be fair to him Collingwood hasn't done badly.
11. They should have to pay their wages for the period of injury and the games when they come back but aren't at 100%, their medical and physio expenses and just extra for fucking up on of your assets. Might stop their being so many stupid, pointless waste of time friendlies. Its a complete joke that clubs pay millions to buy these players, pay their wages, their signing on fees, pay for their insurance, their medical costs and everything else. Yet because of tossers like FIFA, international teams can say, we want your player, we'll use them, maybe get them injured and you will then have your asset unavailable, but you can pay for them all that time we use them and all the time they're missing with injury, its laughable.
12. Great effort from Giles and Harmison. Gutted when they got the lbw as i fancied Harmison to smack a few more big shots and with Giles going well i think they could have sneaked 400 which would have been great.
13. I imagine to be fair some of the criticism (well certainly mine) was not off him, but of the idea of the manager thinking he would turn a game on its head and get us two goals which he isn't likely to do. Also Lampard whilst not playign well is far more likely to score than Hargreaves.
14. Having lost the toss they would definitely have taken this days score like a shot. Even if we get it up to say 370 we have missed out as 450 would have been the kind of total to look for. But this test series is impossible to predict at anytime and until we see the aussies bat who knows what a good total will be!
15. That's pretty much most of the teams in the league tbh. 29914 Which is why we are poor so often!
16. What a fecking surprise, a new signing gets injured. We have the worst fucking luck with these things. Still it means Faye is guarenteed a game so we have that to look forward to!!!
17. I wish he played the way he thinks he can play. The Shola he regularly describes sounds like the kind of player we need!!!
18. As usual the game is tightly balanced, though England won't be that happy as with that pitch, the right weather and batting down to eight they'd have wanted 450 if possible. But still got Jones and Giles in who can hopefully push the score up as high as possible tomorrow and see what the aussies do first innings. And wouldn't it be a shame if when they were batting the rain kept them stopping and starting alot!!!
19. If Warne was English it would be 5-0 series to England, the bloke is a one of alltime legend who as they say could spin the ball on glass!! But we're fighting back now as we always do, so its game on! As for this rain thing, i've been watchign cricket since i was a kid and watching seriously for 15 years and we haven't benefited massively from rain compared to the opposition at all. SLP summed it up well, when we used to really need the rain and preyed for it we didn't get it.
20. Actually under Souness its noticeable that we do seem to match our opposition alot of the time! So when we face the manu's and arsenal's we often put in our best performances (such as they are) and then we turn to complete shite against poor teams!
21. How? Similar scoring records in Europe & in the Premiership. Both have flashes of brilliance but more often or not flatter to deceive. 29863 Correct. If i had to choose one of them obviously i'd go with Tino, he is the better player, but as you point out (but people don't like to hear) they have similar goal records in europe, both go missing in the prem and flatter to decieve.
22. Yes, but i hadn't read your post properly so how was i supposed to know
23. I agree. And the way he completely ignored his captain trying to calm him down and have a word with him tonight was out of order. They should all hold him down in the changing room and let Beckham fart in his face as punishment - if he wants to behave like a child, treat him like one. 29854 Why not! Svens method of doing fuck all isn't working, lets try the "Gemmill plan"
24. You've hit the nail on the head. They're almost identical. Both struggled in the Premiership, both excelled in Europe, and both should have done/ be doing a lot better. Yet one is considered a hero, and the other one is "crap". 29739 Robert is way ahead of Tino in terms of his contribution, for a midfielder he delivered a shitload of goals and direct assists which wins matches and he did it in europe and the premiership. Asprilla didn't score nearly enough for an international striker and missed so many chances to create goals by being selfish or over elaborating.
