Are you for real Dougie Bimson pmsl They also describe Sheffield as being the most passionate football city in the country. Well yeah I'd disagree with parts of what theyve written myself, but they did research their books by talking to those who were there at the time. And Eddie did run with the main Chelsea mob in the early 80s. You're basing your opinion on this on what youve found yourself about Arsenals support and thats all their books are, a fans view. And we all come at these things with different experiances, angles and predjudices. So I think what they say is as valid as anyone else, especially as neither me or you are likely to have first hand knowledge of the London hooligan scene back then. You're right in some regards, however I don't respect their views at all. I completely dismiss the notion that they were and are in any way clued up. The best thing about most of their books is that largely they're posting pieces sent in to them from various hooligans around the country. The pair of them strike me as a pair of middle class wankers jumping on the football hooli-book culture. I mean his account of Euro 2000, was like a Stephen Fry diary of a week in Provence, only less funny, and lets be honest when have fucking Watford ever had a firm? A few dafties turn out when they play Luton and that's it.

Is there anyone on here you would say is guilty of that, don't worry there's no need for a " "

The antagonist I think it's how you're 'draged up', tbh. I was always in an environment where it was dinner then tea. I know my youngun was confused at school on his first day when they got told to go to the 'lunch hall for lunch'. He came home asking why they say lunch and I say dinner. The answer, 'cos they're mugs' wasn't well recieved by the wife. Especially as he was only 4. Lunch though, I mean howay if you're from Newcastle working class and say lunch I'd just think oh dear personally. It's dinner always will be. Saying lunch is linguistically correct but as far as I'm concerned if a working class bamp like me or yee said lunch I'd just think what a pretencious divvy.

8 mins onwards OH DEAR. Those lasses on the bed they'd probably celebrate someone winning the X Factor more than that, a good portrayal of Arsenal I think.

"lunch" If you say lunch it says a lot about you.

Shite everywhere mate, Birmingham believe it or not is keeping my head above water, people keep saying we're not out of the woods yet, I don't even think we're in the woods yet, companies going bust every day, last month a £50m t/o M&E company went bust, they owed creditors £11m, meant 2 roofing firms shut and a MC. Nightmare times.

That's wrong I think otherwise West Ham and Millwall would have many ethnic fans and they probably make up less than 5% of their football. There's something about Arsenal that attracts them, and I don't just think it's because of ethnic role models, all teams have black players. Arsenal's down the years have been more iconic than most though with the likes of Ian Wright and Thierry Henry but I think it's more to do with the culture of Arsenal. Most of the other London clubs are more tribal, Arsenal have always been generic and have always in my time watching football had the most lifeless, passionless fans in English football, even in the height of football passion in the late 80's they were winning titles and it still got the name the Highbury library. This made Arsenal an attractive proposition for Indian, black and muslim supporters because of the nature of the club, the placid way of the support, and the upper class profile of the fanbase comparatively speaking, I mean for fuck sake could you imagine someone with a turban sitting in the Chicken Run at West Ham in the late 80's. Yes it's the nature of the club that is the reason for this, and now 90% of ethnics support Arsenal which is why I would suggest that they have double the fanbase of anyone else in London, they do as well. Think Wenger has a lot to do with it as well (not just the bloke himself but the culture / players he has brought it) as everybody hated them before he came along. Aye I think there is that too, it's a good point to be fair. It removed the Englishness of Arsenal, who were stoically British on the pitch under George Graham. However, it's far from the only factor, I mind my first visit to Highbury in 1993, there were more rolled up Guardian's and turbans than what I what class as proper football fans even then. Aye, I meant in addition to what you'd said. Nick Hornby (thought Fever Pitch was alright in parts tbf as well) sums them up. Absolutely he does. Even the film Fever Pitch itself they don't look that happy when Thomas makes it 2-0, I'd be jumping out of the flat window. He's a snobby cunt from Berkshire who receives far more accolades than he should.

No mate I went to the hospital because me knee was killing me, nurse said I should just stop playing full stop. Played since and its so much pain afterwards. It's alright on me bike or cross trainer it's just playing football. It's a shame, I thought I'd go on forever, maybe I should rest it for a few months and see how it is then.

Office crack is criminally bad. I wasn't built for offices myself. There's always a funny little fat man who isn't funny but gets arselicked too.

Ive just re-read this thread and cant beleive I missed this from Khay. When drivers pay road tax, I shall start paying road tax on the bike. There's a lot cyclistists on here mate sadly. PC doesn't cover us.

I dont disagree with a lot of what you say here (for once lol).... Football is all about the money, I think with the right manager and methods you can work around the money issue to a certain extent (i.e. just spending money alone doesn't make you successful), but if you fail to add to a good team for one season you stand still whilst those around you move forwards... if you fail to add quality for 2 seasons in a row you go backwards at an alarming rate. With Everton we've been great at adding good players and getting the best out of them for little investment... Over the years we've rightfully been top 5-7 thanks to Moyes picking up players for fairly cheap and improving them beyond recognition. The problem is that once these players become internationals and coverted by bigger clubs then we have had to offer them top wages... now one or two players on 50k a week is fine, but when you have maybe 10, then Arteta on £75k a week it becomes a big problem. The blame lays both at Moyes and Kenwrights door for that... no club can operate with a wage that eats up over 70% of turnover, and as such we find ourselves over stretching like you say in the hope of defying the odds and getting in the top 4... its a foolish strategy! Will someone rich buy us? Who knows... I dont personally think Kenwright is actively seeking a buyer in all honesty, or if he is he's asking for far too much, else how come loads of teams have been taken over and we havent? I actually think its very similar to Ashley who was supposedly trying to sell the Toon... was he really? Or was he just trying to apease the fans? Interestingly both chairman employed the same man to sell their clubs, a man who someone once said was able to achieve the "square root of nothing". I guess its frustrating having all that turnover your club has without spending it... especially the whopping transfer fees brought in... not sure but I think I'd rather know my club was financially secure than be in the position we are in at the moment. I didn't know that. Has he successfully been a middle man in a club sale before?

Never try to understand the mentality of a mackem. When I worked there this fuckin mackem "John Smith" from Ry'oa-ahpe (Thai bride and all that caper straights), he said to me "Soonlun are a beegur cloob bea-cos there's 259 thewwwsund peapull in Newwwwcassul, and there's 280 thewssund in Soonlun" that was his argument. Also today I see Brewce is saying the press coverage of the game has been disgusting because a lot of it focussed on what arseholes Bardsley and Cattermole are, thought it was fair enough mesel. Proper victims mackems.

Aye, he's decent craic. Though again, he's another of the unemployed I imagine by the amount he tweets. Taity Heed's a joke, he offers absolutely nothing. The best hack to follow is @iainmacintosh and @huddohudson . Macintosh is hilarious. Maybe, although this place would be dead during the day if there wasn't a large number of us posting from work. Aye you're right like, I skive some days when I've brought my money in, which I have this month £8200 no one can grumble. Think I made 6 calls yesterday and sent 3 emails.

MacIntosh is good like I agree, but I do like Steve Brenner, we fight like cat and dog sometimes over his pieces but it's always forgotten about the next day. I agree re the unemployed thing, how does someone like tatty heed have a blackberry when he's on the dole? #brokenbritain tbh

When you think of all the shit women go through like child birth, periods, minge cramp etc... we can't complain us blokes, but I fucking hate shaving. When you're about 13/14 you think get in, I can shave, I'm a man!!!! It sharp wears off though, so that's another reason to support growing a weeks stubble at a time.

but of course this person doesn't exist, and is just a name I could choose Fucking what an embarrassment. White Lightening on cheap in West Derby is it? Goodnight deluded one. Did you read the word Maybe? You know, like a suggestion? The maybe changes the fact these are real people does it :icon_lol: bet you were foaming pmsl. Not so much digging your own grave as doing a fucking great job on the carpentry of the coffin too.

Meltdown Meltdown pmsl yeah I'm the one accusing you of being a mackem who thinks I'm a cunt on another board fpmsl In all fairness you couldn't make it up. Could you link the boards blueboy and sandpiper post on, I'm sure they'll find your mental state equally as mortifying as I do. Jeez, you're as thick as two short planks. I was giving you names you could open new accounts in on this fuckin board duh! Why lie? You've proven your intellectual level this evening by failing to grasp the £40m comment was for one season. If I was a Liverpool fan, and thank fuck I'm not, I'd be embarrassed by you. You epitomise why Alex said all scousers are cunts on another thread yesterday. He asked the question what is the Liverpool Way, you can't answer it, because you know the official line will be too cringeworthy for this boards server to take.

You Your Evertonian is wrong, how come you always come out with these silly made up stories just to back up your own wishful thinking? The uni did a postcode survey about 8 or 9 years ago now, and it worked out that Liverpool had a higher local fanbase than Everton, not by much, but enough. There are also weak links to establishing local fanbase, like I have all my life met more reds in the city than blues. Scouse adults don't tend to wear replica shirts other than going to the match, but the kids do, and it's always been more red than blue. Also, I've been to many a function where the band playing are from outside the area, and for some reason they think they should end the night with YNWA, a local band just wouldn't do it. The amount of clapping and singing would tell you quite easily how many reds there are to blues, it's always massive. Istanbul tended to bring in more oots and oocs. Out of curiosity could you provide a source for your last 15 years and having 40 million more than Everton over that period? Not that I disbelieve you, I'm just interested. I'll get him to post his thoughts on here if you like. I don't what I would have to gain in saying that.- What, open another account? Maybe you could be blueboy or sandpiper. His your thoughts are shite, and you/he have no idea of what you're talking about. Gain? When talking about Liverpool FC you always have your own jealousy driven agenda, I find it amusing. I haven't worn a replica top since I was about 16, but every time I've been to Anfield which is a lot, you see lots of replica shirts being worn by all ages. - What has whether YOU wear a replica shirt got to do with anything? I said, other than at the match, Scouse adults don't wear replica shirts much. Anyway I was wrong our turnover must've been more than £40m more than Everton's at one point, pretty shite source this granted but it's also a true one, and if you look you'll find an official link somewhere anyway. In fact I can't even remember Everton ever being in the richlist. We were even in it in our relegation season, all I was doing was highlighting the commercial and financial difference in size between Newcastle United and Everton. http://www.xtratime.org/forum/showthread.php?t=127167 1 (1) Manchester United 175.8 (251.4) 2 (2) Juventus 152.7 (218.3) 3 (4) AC Milan 140 (200.2) 4 (6) Real Madrid 134.7 (192.6) 5 (3) Bayern Munich 113.8 (162.7) 6 (12) Inter Milan 113.6 (162.4) 7 (8) Arsenal 104.6 (149.6) 8 (5) Liverpool 104.4 (149.4) 9 (13) Newcastle 97.1 (138.9) 10 (7) Chelsea 93.6 (133.8) 11 (10) Roma 92.6 (132.4) 12 (15) Borussia Dortmund 86.7 (124.0) 13 (9) Barcelona 86.3 (123.4) 14 (n/a) Schalke 04 82.9 (118.6) 15 (16) Tottenham 66.9 (95.6) 16 (11) Leeds 64.3 (92.0) 17 (14) Lazio 62.2 (88.9) 18 (17) Celtic 60.8 (87.0) 19 (20) Olympique Lyonnais 58.9 (84.3) 20 (n/a) Valencia 56.3 (80.5). I was hoping for the 15 years you talked about. Where did I mention 15 years you disgraceful wallpushing bastard? I said we've been wealthier than them in one season for over £40m can you not read, generally it was always 20-30m but I made the point that that particular season our income would've been £10m more than normal cos of the CL. fucking hilarious. You think I'd pose as a blue dipper to annoy you PMSL mate if you died tomorrow I wouldn't notice or care, even if someone came on this board and said "see that cunt Pacino he's died" I'd think "poor cunt", and that would be it. You deluded nobhead. If they annoy you, they must talk sense whoever they are. Someone sounds upset, truth hurt? You said 'Newcastle have over the last 15 years had a turnover over £40m more than Everton' I was actually more interested in your 15 year source, not the 'facts' you come out with, I take no notice of them anyway, they too often turn out to be wrong. I don't think, I believe, that you would pose as anyone, and have a conversation with yourself, to back up your points. I'm not your mate and if I died tomorrow why would I think you'd know about it? Sounds like you take the net far too seriously, you need a life sonny boy. Me deluded, the fucking irony. Amusement isn't annoyance. The last paragraph seems to be a drunken effort at an insult, a frenchman teaching english wouldn't know what the fuck you're on about or what to say to his pupils, and neither do I. Drink could be your main problem I think. Can you answer a question though, do you believe there's a thing called "the Liverpool way", and if you do can you describe what it is, and what's so different about it from other clubs. Why am I not surprised you choose to say you don't understand it, nor give a source for your 15 year quote? You understand it totally but it's too near the truth for you accept. Yes, there is 'The Liverpool way' but why would I want to explain it to someone who wouldn't understand it in a million years? Shut up you emotional scouse mug, you're a clear and present manic depressive alcoholic. You've proved it tonight beyond any doubt. I've been perfectly reasonable with you, spoke with you with a degree of respect, well more than you deserve and you act like a cunt. If you re-read the 15 year thing you will I didn't say we were £40m above them for 15 years. People like you caused the deaths of 39 innocent Italians perhaps it's on your conscience, maybe that's the way you are how you are? Actually 38 Italians and 1 Belgian. Clearly you're having a breakdown when you think I could be some Evertonian on another board who obviously thinks you're as big a mug as I do.
