Good old Joey! He's professional footballer not one of the Conroys or the Seers; he shouldn't be drinking & fighting anyway..... Freddie?

I take the point about wanting what he contractually was owed, but the fact was he was prepared to sit on his arse until it got paid - similar to his possible future here if no club comes in for him. If you wish to about contracts then I think we need to be aware of employment law. As a Union branch secretary I know quite a bit about this after dealing with redundancies and disciplinaries in the past however many years. firstly, his incident in McDonald's ought to have seen him, at best, get a final warning for the catch all reason of bringing employer in to disrepute, which is in every contract & staff code of conduct i've ever seen. consequently behaving himself for 2 years is the minimum we should expect and if you think that his conduct on Twitter has been acceptable then i think you need to inquire as to your shop steward's availability if you're about to launch a barrage of negative publicity about your employer in to cyberspace. while above him the club is a disgrace, Barton has engineered this situation, either deliberately or accidentally. He is the winner in this as he can now negotiate another fat contract with a new club. Load of bollocks, I have no doubt if a fair contract offer had been made he'd have stayed here for the rest of his top flight career, he consistently said he needs to put down his roots, cos his birds geordie, the bairns ganna be geordie, and he loves the city. It's like September 11th and you're focussing on WTC7, look at the important issue here, and it's not Barton's misbehaviour.

Would you not have held out for money you were contractually owed like? 300k isn't a fortune, there's a principle involved there. Anyway we all know Barton's past I was his most fierce critic, he's behaved for 2 years and he's basically done nothing that I wouldn't do if I was in his position since then. Deflecting the disgrace that has went on above him, by focussing on what you believe is his egotistical tendencies, in my view brands you as a certified DOILUM.

Might be a harsh thing to say this but @robatkinsonnufc 's head looks like a potato. Plus he's a fuckin nob. There's more nobs than good lads and lasses on twitter following nufc like.

I'd like to know where it's been reported that we spent THIRTY FIVE million on the training centre, which was top notch anyway. There's nee way we spent more than £10m on it in the last 8 month - fact. Honestly if I saw Ashley now, I'd fuckin lamp him, it's a bad nightmare this I feel even worse now than before Reading in 2009.

UnitedForNewcastle is more about clearasil than clear ideas. What it needs is some proper old timers to start something, just some respected faces, and something could take off, the shoes off brigate I 8 SUNDERLAND on the back of their shirt mob will always be looked down at by people like me, and many others.

We've just got nee dignity or class as a football club. We had that under Hall and most of the time under Shepherd, I hate it. Anyone who supports Ashley after everything when it's all put in to one box, is a categorical arsehole, I've said that to people's faces who have spouted pish about Keegangate, and I'd say it again to anyone who firmly supports this most embarrassing of regimes.

I think it was about two weeks between KK getting the shove and the Hull game due to an international break, which gave the Ashlites plenty of time to spin their shite about KK being a quitter. By the time the game arrived large swathes of the support were more concerned about the word cockney on a banner than they were about Keegan getting treated like shit. Not sure why the Barton thing has hit a nerve with so many – Keegan getting forced, appointing JFK, renaming the ground, painting shit on the Gallowgate roof, Hughton getting sacked and selling Carroll were far more significant insults. I firmly believe this particular incident is more about the vindictive nature of our owner, and his childish megalomaniac personality than all of the others, even the Keegan one. Losing Barton for nothing will have a massive impact on the side this season only a fucking idiot could fail to see that. We lost the gunpowder and now we've lost the bullets. In fact we haven't even got a gun now, more like a pellet gun relying on Jonas now to provide most of the assists.

UtdForNewcastle ffs Oh dear x 1000 The same kids and that's what they are, who promised us Esland had agreed to rehouse L7 in L4 corner. It's not their fault, the jelly and custard brigade they're only trying to help but they're kids and overage replica shirt kids who are seen as weak. The fact is we have been shite at protests for years. The last decent one was to get the Magpie Group in in 1991, the game against Oxford there was as many ootside the ground as in. The fans won the day there they got McKeag out eventually, but unless we adopt the Man Utd approach we'll achieve fuck all. The only way a football protest works, and yes this sound irresponsible, is with thuggish behaviour. Man Utd are the masters at it. Rooney says he's leaving "United" 50 of them go down to his house with banners saying "YOU DIE IF YOU JOIN CITY". When the Giggs thing hit it's peak when he was shaggin various cunts a few months ago, the same people went down and kicked fuck out of the press and paparazzi. It's the only way we'll get Ashley away from the club, a physical presence. A 2,000 shoes off if you love the toon mob aged 13 to 27 shouting abuse at the stairs will MAKE FUCK ALL difference. The Keegan thing against Hull should've been the protest to end all protests but it was meek under the circumstances. The only way we'll ever get taken notice of is to do something drastic, and that doesn't mean fuckin spanners standing outside of Shearer's with BOYCOUTT banners, with one GCSE between them.

I've said I've finally had enough about 100 times so pointless me saying it nuw, like a wife who's husband has a 12 inch cock, and he has loads of affairs but she always goes back to him.
-
Definitely. If any of you are on F365, pop over to the Toon thread and have a look at their views on it. All JB's fault apparently. Unbelievable. It's basic intelligence to know who is to blame here. One or two of them looked like rent boys tbh.
-
See the toon didn't win one game withoot Barton last season.
-
NUFC.co.uk They don't even want to flog him. We could probably get £4m for him. This is just fucking childish, it's become personal because he didn't fuck off when he was told to in 2009, and now these comments yesterday, they know we all now know the truth for definite that the whole club is pissed off with the two clowns running and the complete dereliction of any plan to move the club forward successfully.

I think one of the successes of Newcastle last season in games like Arsenal away where we had to dig in, was the English core of the side, and you'd have to say that the three most important players in that were Carroll, Nolan and Barton. Was the plan to replace people with years of Premiership experience, who were the cornerstone of dressing room harmony, with cheaper inexperienced foreign imports. Is that the fuckin masterplan? Even the most staunch Ashley sympathiser must look in the mirror today and say to themselves "I'm a total cunt for buying this hook line and sinker".
-
Nar I think you can just walk away. Because IIRC the DD didn't involve any external finance company, this is the first time I've not just paid cash for it tbh.
-
Barton's clearly been put on a gag and been paid a lot of the contract though. Disappointing
-
CT this definitely isn't the day for a wind up sonna.
-
Bunch of wanks. I feel like stopping me direct debit. This is just fucking unreal. Instead of needing 4 players we now need 5, and one of them has to be very fucking good just to compensate. What a circus we have become, so fucking depressing.
-
Looks like they've terminated his contract, unconfirmed.

Aye, at least Beardsley, Waddle and Gazza were staggered over four summers.
-
But is it merely brutal to our way of thinking? Are we just too soft and assume that our way is the right way and any other way is just wrong ? I think gassing 100,000 people for no reason other than to get rid of them is by any means a lot worse than the democratic capitalist way of life we have in the west.

Not just UK Muslims, all Muslims. Most Muslim countries at least pay lip service to the sharia - although if you'd like an example of one that absolutely doesn't, look up Tunisia's constitution - but very few of them actually operate societies in which the sharia is strictly enforced. The ones that do are extremist paradises: Saudi, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Is this a coincidence? I don't think so. Almost all Muslim countries except the ones I just mentioned have (at least somewhat) advanced beyond disenfranchising their women and placing ulama, or Islamic scholars, in positions of power in society. Can anyone show me "the sharia?" No, because it doesn't exist as such. It began as a few rules codified from what is expressly stated in the Qur'an, then started to swell and bloat until it reached the all-encompassing status it possessed through the 19th century. Why did this happen? Because of the ulama, who I mentioned above. In the time following the Prophet's death, there was no real distinction between the religious establishment and the political establishment. The caliph (the Prophet's successor), was known as the "commander of the faithful" - that is, head of both church and state. This lasted until Ali, the fourth caliph, was killed and the Umayyad dynasty took over. (All of this is happening in the 7th century.) Although these Umayyads claimed to be the true successors to the Prophet, they were really interested in political power. They set themselves up as a dynasty (until this time, the caliphate had not been hereditary; instead, upon the caliph's death, a group of respected elders and scholars would reach a consensus on who the next caliph would be) and ruled Arabia until 768, when another set of usurpers called the Abbasids took over. They would rule until 1250, at which point the Mongols destroyed them, and in the 14th century the Ottoman Empire emerged. Why am I telling you this? It is to illustrate the deviation of political power from religious authority. And following this deviation, the increasingly power-hungry rulers of (most of) Islam became more estranged from the religion. They committed endless excesses and flaunted the rules of Islam. Fearing that these excesses would turn the population against them - this is the important part - they granted their patronage to groups of regime-friendly religious authorities, or 'ulama.' Once the ulama realised that the rulers relied upon the weight of their religious opinions in order to legitimise their rule, they made more and more demands and became more and more rich and powerful. Now set up as a far-reaching religious semi-establishment, the ulama produced endless rulings on life and society, some at the prompting of their rulers and some simply at their own whim. These rulings became what we call the sharia today, and they emerged not from Islam, but from the greed of the Umayyad, Abbasid, and Ottoman sultans, who empowered the ulama to craft a set of guidelines that would maintain their firm grip on power. tl;dr version: The 'sharia' is not actually Islamic (although almost all of it is of course derived in some way from Islam) but was created as a means to power for rulers from the 7th-20th centuries. The caliphate is gone, the ulama have no power today, and the society that the sharia was devised in order to control no longer exists. We Muslims should recognise this and move on; most already have. Only revisionists who want to go back to the 'glory days of Islam' still bang on about the sharia and these revisionists represent the dangerous element within our religion, which needs to be removed before we can progress and become fully integrated with the rest of the world. Good post. It educated me regarding sharia's origins anyway.

I love it how you think that offends us. I love the way I speak. Much rather sound like I do than speak like someone form Newcastle. Possibly the most god awful sounding accent to disgrace the english language. To be honest when you lot speak it just sounds like someone has took a dyslexic, fed him shit loads of ket and shoved a golf ball in his gob. Are "yeey" takkin the peess? Mackem is a horrible accent. You can sound quite intelligent with a geordie accent, look at Spender, but mackem you automatically just think what a thick bunch of downtrodden tramps, horrible accent to listen to. As soon as I hear a mackem accent, I take the piss or I want to, that's how bad it is. There's not many famous mackems because they're victims of their environment and the mackem downtrodden acceptance of mediocrity ethic. Kate Adie fucked off when she 15, and Olive who sung "you're not alone did the same", there's nobody else really is there?
