  1. No. I think the very most we can hope for, and it would be a push, would be a draw.
  2. Aye, seen who wrote it and stopped. No idea what the article says.
  3. Robbie Elliots has to be up there Oh and Robbie Keanes one of the worst.
  4. Thats cos you;re at the top of the page dafty
  5. Wont happen but the points valid. I just dont "get" booing. What exactly is it meant to achieve? Would you rather lift a player and him score a goal or knock his head down further so there's even less a chance? "great" support.
  6. Finally, got to see Dark Knight. Enjoyed it like aye. Few bits I thought were a bit shite, thought the Joker was played class though. Canny all in all.
  7. Given Beye Taylor Collocinni Enrique Gutierrez Guthrie Duff NZogbia Owen Martins
  8. The forum feels lighter already.
  9. Will you two love birds fuck off and get a room or something?
  10. Good second half. Took us a while to get into it. Things that stood out for me. Duff had a bust game, I thought MOM was between him and Jonas. Jonas looked good, got better as the game went on. Covers alot of ground not just sticking to the wing. Didnt see him put a cross in, more run inside with it. Guthrie had a good game, first chance Ive had to watch him properly and I was pretty impressed. Beye was solid as ever and Zog still looks dangerous when he goes forward. Milner was busy but his final ball is poor or he just runs into trouble.
  11. Reet then, few snippets from the game yesterday. Spoke to John Beresford before the game. Said that Cox left due to his back, something thats been a problem for him for a long time apparently and he suffers badly with it. The travelling was making it worse. What KK will miss is his ability to spot a play on the pitch who is taking the piss. KK would be watching everything while Cox watching more individuals. On Smith, said that its not that KK doesnt want him to go, more that he doesnt want him to go before he is replaced as the squad is so small. While Ashley thinks if there is an offer on the table we should take it rather than get less or nothing for him later. Said the signings are all KKs, he has the final say on if he wants a player. Said that there is a better chance of KK finding a "gem" than signing a big name player (used examples of Rob Lee and Scott Sellars). After the game we spoke to Bob Moncur. Spent most of it talking about expectations. He thinks we'd do well to finish top half with the squad as it is now. Agrees that forwards are our biggest problem having only two real goalscorers in Vikdua and Owen, both who have injury problems and Martins who he says is up and down. Great one day, crap the next. Interestingly seen Mike Ashley after the game, he was signing stuff for some kids etc. someone shouted when we signing some more players, he said to the crowd in general we will sign one defender and one midfielder but no forward. Sure there was a few other things but I cant remember... Edit : Oh aye, Moncur says that we need to realise that though Ashley has put the money in he has now, that the club will also loose money operationally this year and that needs to be covered. Thats why he is trying to address the wages. Also get us up the table to increase income and try to find more investors in the club.
  12. I didnt know that, but thats what I was told yesterday by Beresford and is apparently why he left.
  13. Didnt boo him, dont like him either. But, I still say booing any player while on the pitch is a disgrace. Not to mention I find it funny as fuck anyone who is meant to be remotely grown up shouting "Boooo"
  14. makes me smile too ......... Making something out of nothing there like imo. If you are waiting for him to suddenly say "Ive done this for nothing but love and enjoyment and don't expect a penny back at the end of it" you'll be waiting a long time. Of course its an investment. If I buy a new PC its an investment. I'll buy it, use it, hopefully enjoy it (unlike now due to a Nvidia/Vista driver problem!), and then at the end hopefully sell it and get some of my investment back. What people are so eager to stand shoulder to shoulder with the red tops and shout "yeah, why Ashley" or "yeah, what you going to say to that Mike" baffles me. Has years of discontent and being fucked over really make us all so sceptical and bitter? I think Id rather cautiously enjoy it and feel fucked over when it goes wrong, that stand there smug saying I told you so. the play on words mate, is making it sound like they ARE doing it for love and enjoyment and not expecting a penny back at the end of it. We all know that if or when he sells, whether it be next month or 10 years time, he'll not have lost a penny. He's got the club now, he should be focussing on being successful on the footballing front, how to beat the competition, and reaslising he has a manager that has shown he knows how to do it. I agree! Of course if he sells it he will get "his" money back. the club will spend money in the meantime on transfers etc. Maybe he will tot up some of the transfer money with his own, I dont know. But, the whole idea is if he put "250M in now, and bit in for transfers on top of what the club does, then "if" it works and say we are a sold 5th place club in 3-4 years and he wants to sell, we'll be worth more than what he paid when he bought it. Fair enough to me like. Thing is, all he will do is prob get his money back. Everyone says you dont buy a football club to make money. But, at the same time I can understand a more sensible approach for while you might not make money, you dont want to loose it either.
  15. Until we see quotes from Cox we wont know why he left. Ill ask the question this afternoon and see what I get told (We have either Beardo or Beresford coming into our room for a while). Thing is, we are investing in players, we are moving forward. Its just that in the old regime, we were used to buying big names and worrying about it later. While now we are being more cautious. I can see why people dont like this approach, but to me its make good business sense. Its a shame, but we cant get away from football being a business and thats how it needs to be ran. Perhaps having someone run it as a business rather than a supporter running it to prod his own ego will be better for us long term. Just maybe.

  17. What a nightmare. Fucking fucker fuckers. Im "trying" to organise 20 people to this thing, some up from London, some the north west and most locals. Ive had delayed trains, people dropping out, people who said they couldnt come now ringing me saying they want to come, moved rooms, changing plans and worst of all, a wee jobbie in my loo wont flush away and I need to leave

    I'm worried

What they don't like genuinely committed fans who have seen far worse days than this, who are passionate about the club, and if the club sunk to the depths of 1991 or lower would still be there while others would be walking round the Metro Centre on a Saturday? It's a sad world we live in that a large proportion of our support are now like the gimps who have posted above. "Bravo jolly good goal". Very few of us can remember what our support was like in the late 80's and early 90's (I mean in terms of quality), and it's a sad sad world we find ourselves in that this generation is watered down in comparison, almost yuppified. Breaks my heart knowing the above are the norm at SJP now rather than the exception, and people wonder why the atmosphere has went shit. Speaking of caricatures, how many of you can remember Walker Dan? Not fucking many I'd bet. He was the epitome of what being a toon fan should be in my eyes. You're the best fan Stevie. Come on everybody. Tell Stevie he's the best fan. I think you just need a dump
  19. oh can i have it too me too p three
  20. Im not a big tv watcher. Films and the discovery channel are more my thing (boring fucker eh). That said: Heroes Mock the Week IT Crowd Scrubs (though starting to tire of it) Big Bang Theory are things Ive enjoyed of late and would Sky+ Other things I may watch if Im flicking past
  21. not if you've got kids........... Tell me about it. Mine's only 11 months, but oh how I love the "lets see how deep my arm fits in the DVD/Video player" or the old time classic "how many handprints can you make on the TV while Daddy blinks".
  22. Not as bad as the headline suggests. He's hardly demanding it but of course it must be our aim.
  23. Indeed. Replacing Sam with KK Paying off the Debt Putting a footballing structure in place Starting to get rid of alot (and we still have alot) of dead wood These are all steps forward. Now for the important one. How we do this season.
