  1. I remember when Newcastle were getting less than 20K to games. ridiculous when you compare attendances to today. I was shocked to see the number of empty seats at Uefa games a few seasons back, especially when you sell out 60K to watch Dane Bowers et al in "THE MATCH".
  2. Er... currently you're 1 place above us. Big spending this summer might help you, but equally you could find yourself in a very similar position to this season, and if you're not careful in a similar financial position to which the last board left us. Fifth 2 seasons on the bounce and a cup in the cabinet this year. Anyway, that wasn't my point. The reason we have money to spend is we sell out pretty much every game, we have a sensible wage ceiling 50K/week (and thats just for the big boys) and very little debt to service. Now we have a half decent manager in place hopefully we are going places. None of which contradicts anything I said. No offence Fop, but you are quite a bit behind in real terms.

  4. Theres a Spurs fan who goes to every game and home and away and most of the reserve games. He spent 7.5K on football last year.
  5. Spurs are reaping the benefit of sound financial planning over the last few years. Our wage bill is also relatively low in comparison to turnover (45%) which is eclipsed by West Ham, Arsenal and yourselves. We dont have an endless pot of cash but shrewed transfer dealings over the last few years have ensured we are doing alright. Dos Santos is a very promising player, as is modric but as we all know nothing is guaranteed in this life, we may not end up in fifth.... We may get fourth
  6. Disgrace. Players who are proven to make racist comments should be banned from playing for England imo. Thats the thing, it was never proven. England captain at the time so it was swept under the carpet. Ledders is the type to grass. So he gets away with it.
  7. Said something to Ledley during the 2-1 at WHL last season that had the black players going mental. Of course Ledley didn't grass him but we all know what was said.
  8. Eto'o when we had the chance first time round. Dennis Bergkamp we had the chance first time round.
  9. Huddlestone is yours if you want him. I think it would take more than that little lot (all 50mils worth) to make you top four.
  10. as much as I don't like him you can't get that lucky that often, his positioning and anticipation are really good, he's always ready to follow up I think his long range shooting is overrated though btw I think that nike "take it to the next level" ad that was just on ITV is brilliant I think it is fucking goon shit but there you go. Game of opinions and all that.
  11. Has Lump o lard ever scored a goal that didn't involve a deflection somewhere along the line? He is the luckiest fucking player I have ever known.
  12. And me. It has been alluded to on a few Spurs boards too. What has he been up to?
  13. Some very harsh opinions of Dawson on here. He had a very succesfull England U21 career, knocked on the door of the full squad a couple of times. Is he really much worse than Taylor?
  14. What else from being the brother of the murderer does connect him to this case though? So why did he have to talk about it anyway? They were talking about his public image. he was moaning on about the affect the case had on him without a second thought for the affect it had on the family of the poor fella who god his head staved in.
  15. He's a Scouser, what did you expect? ha ha, life's born victims. Thats a very good point.
  16. I heard an interview with him on 5 live a few months back and a few things struck me: 1. Every time, when questioned about an incident, he was always a victim of circumstance, he admitted what he did was wrong but always tried to justify it with a kind of "they started it thing" 2. When talking about the fella that got his head axed, JB seemed more worried how he was made to feel "guilty by association" rather than expressing any condolences towards the family. In my opinion, he is one of those people who will never accept any blame for his own actions so will always be trouble. I know he is your player and it is none of my business but I honestly think you are better off rid of him.
  17. OK so the first post on here wasn't strictly on the level. This post was showing a general interest in what you lot thought about the players you have been linked with. In response to another post. Newcastle players I would have: Given (class keeper) Owen (obviously) - A bit rich for our blood, you would need to sub his wages for us Viduka - Old but still good - Wages again Milner Maybes: N'Zog Taylor
  18. Sorry that's what we call you, either that or Newcash. What do you prefer to be referred to as (collectively)? how about our actual name? or perhaps mags or something, like how you're reffered to as "spurs" Don't mind being referred to as a spud. All very harmless really. At least you didn't say "toon army" or the "geordie nation" both those terms do my nut in. Mags it is. toon army or toon isn't bad but geordie nation winds me up too since I'm not actually a geordie it's just stupid, it's like assuming all spurs fans are londoners Toon army just reminds me of sky sports fans, wearing jester hats and blowing air horns. Toon Army = The match.
  19. For Bale? We will end up paying SCBC more than that for him. His ears are worth more than that. Bollocks - the whole of Wales isnt worth 7m. ha ha ha, he is certainly a diamond in a bucket of shit mate, thats for sure. No way you are getting him for seven though, we are paying ten with clauses so you need to dig significantly deeper. But another 6 months of sitting on the bench because some half arse Spaniard, that Ramo's thinks is technically better, starting instead of him, again, will fix all that. 4m in Jan. With Modric getting the shits with it all and looking to get the fuck out of there this time next year. I have seen enough of Ramos to trust his decision making. If thats the case, so be it. Until then you will have to stump up some serious wedge for Bale.
