It's a load of crap. PSR is a joke that is ultimately not in the interest of the league as it stifles competition. The only reason we can't do what Man City and Chelsea and Man U and Liverpool and Arsenal do is because we got rich owners at a later time. And even worse the PSR rules haven't been appropriately scaled with inflation or with the increase in player prices and wages, making them progressively tougher. We should further align with other clubs facing similar limitations and coordinate the transfer of promising young players to facilitate the headroom required to drive up results and revenue. We'd be technically compliant which is the best type of compliant. There's no guarantee that that money would be well spent.

I agree, even when he's not at his best his pace troubles defenders and causes them to make mistakes. We don't have anyone with the same combination of acceleration, speed and fast feet. I feel like Osula will be more of a nuisance than Barnes, though Barnes is capable of a great shot and can also stand up a good cross. From everything we've seen Howe is more likely to use Willock and Barnes there than Osula, I'd be leaning toward Barnes and Osula (at least give him some minutes to throw everything he can at the defense). Willock has just frustrated me too much, getting into good positions and then being wasteful. It's not through a lack of effort though which is at least one positive.

Yeah that's precisely why I specified in attack.
-
Tino looked good on the left in attack in particular but Trippier doesn't have 90 minutes in him these days. If Hall wasn't available that's what Howe would go with (as he did here).

@GrahamTaylor5 yes that's a better way of putting it. The amount of times over the years where we've managed to self-inflict a worse outcome than a loss...

The amount of times over the years where we've managed to invent a worse outcome than a loss; often red cards, sometimes injuries, always disappointing. This feeling is sadly not uncommon.

At least Joelinton is back.
-
There will be an extra spot in the conference league as Liverpool obviously won't need it.

His energy would have been good here you'd have thought.

It has that feeling from when we lost to 10 man Liverpool, but that's down to that feckin' eedyot Gordon.

I wonder why Howe didn't bring Wilson on.
-
How many times have we had the ball in dangerous positions in their box and done nothing with it.
-
Livramento put him way onside. This is the most Newcastle performance. FFS.

Until I said that and he defended like a street lamp.

I knew you would know.

Blue boots aside, apart from when he turned the ball over trying to counter he's looked half decent.

Dubravka has been brilliant.

Commentators alleging that the ref has been consistent and then saying he wasn't for not giving Tonali a yellow for the same thing he didn't give two of their players yellow for...
-
Murphy should have had a crack then.
-
We have to at least have an attempt at appealing it and having it downgraded to yellow, he's trying to push off a player who is impeding his run and in doing so accidentally contacts his head. There was no risk of injury from it.

I agree but I can't see them changing it to something that becomes harder to distinguish.
