  1. I don't really understand what you're complaining about there- aren't personal tutors supposed to keep an eye out for bad marks?

It was Steve who hated the yellow laughing smiley!
  3. Could you imagine any modern footballers doing the 'Jeff Astle sings' feature or being made a tit out of in Pheonix in the Flames? They wouldn't be having it I reckon.
  4. I absolutely loved Fantasy Football, but I wonder whether it was the Pandara's Box for laddish rubbish like Cordon and Lovejoy.
  5. Fair play, I'm not sure Smith would have acted too differently to Blair had he been PM though.
  6. How's it a U-turn, you massive shit-strring pube? Cos you strolled in confidently calling LM a 'pathetic old man' and a 'bigot' and then later admitted you know fuck all about the subject! unsurprisingly you've become confused. I said that insisting that he was pissed of with Black singers, where I felt someone's skin colour is not relevant to their ability to sing one style or other, was bigoted. But when people seemed to back him up, I shrugged my shoulders and moved on. I don't believe I u-turned I just know there's no point in arguing in circles with him. I still don't think it's right to say only black people can sing that style, but if everybody else disagrees, then fair enough. Think it's a little lacking in class for you to stir it up again like, but there you go. Well I think it lacks class to call people pathetic old men and play the race card unneccessarily but there you go. Trot on. Having a mare son.

  8. Cameron had no power whatsoever when he was in opposition and he still made me realise he's a cunt! Fair point, I'm defending the indefensible here, not sure why. There are some right twats across politics I think, part of the job description I guess.

  10. Wasn't Benn minister for the post office or something? What I meant was they didn't have enough power to do anything to make people dislike them.
  11. he was before Motown ? Woule you say he sang like a soul singer, I wouldn't. I don't particularly like Elvis or Rock and Roll, although some of his singles were quite good but in the main best records were his later ones ie In The Ghetto, Suspicious Minds. Just my opinion like. I've got no strong opinion or expertise really, just interested what you thought. I just remembered when he first appeared on TV a lot of people were surprised that he wasn't black.
  12. What's your view on Elvis LM? Wasn't he heavily influenced by Motown?

    Driving

A Clio's a great first car to have- I've got one, it's pretty efficient and does the job IMO.
  14. I'll have to agree with you here NJS. it takes a simple person to define politics in such a way. Obviously there are exceptions but comparing Bevan, Atlee, Benn, Smith and Foot against Thatcher, Tebbit, Joseph, Ridley, Osborne and Cameron seems pretty simple to me. Anyway it sometimes takes sophistication to see though complexity. Benn, Smith and Foot never had to serve in government though to be fair. How about Galloway, Derek Hatton and Blunkett (80s)?
  15. I never thought I was a contentious sort, just likely to fall foul of some people's caricatures on here. I genuinely think if Stevie ever met me, he wouldn't feel quite as vitriolic towards me, but I'm not going to bust a gut to change his mind. I am surprised to be mentioned in the same sentence as the more demonstrative of the posters on here*; I think my frequency is mistaken for an implicit interest in the subjects... where as , in fact, I'm just very bored. * ditto Renton and Pud I think you often come across as very pretentious on here (although not as much as you used to), even though you may not be like that in real life. oh you do, do you? Yeah.

  17. Moving Images Sounds like a kids TV programme.
  18. Well like.. how many just got clean rejected altogether as in have no hope of going to uni this year The situation at the moment is there are 150,000 students trying to get 10,000 places through Clearing, so at least 140,000 will have no place.
  19. Accepted/rejected from their first choice? Their insurance choice? From all five choices? You'll need to be more specific
  20. I don't even know if my school does it? I've never heard of anyone doing it before? Can you do cope in upper 6th? I don't think General studies is available in sixth forms, it's more common with colleges who regard it as compulsory at AS. What's the difference between colleges and 6th form? Over here the options are the tech and going into 6th year, im guessing you call the tech college? Colleges are usually only for the teaching of A levels, whereas sixth forms are joined onto secondary schools. I see i see. Don't suppose you have any idea of how many people got rejected / accepted - bit of inside UCAS info, nah? Accepted/rejected from what? University in general?

I did it at 6th form, both as and a2 in second year utter doss but they stuck the fucking exam the morning when my chem ones were afternoon that day, waste of 2 hours It is a total doss but a lot of decent unis accept it for some reason (eg Newcastle and Leeds)
  23. General Studies is a doss, you don't need to revise for it; do the AS in January and the A2 in June.
  24. I'm doing 3 A Levels anyway if i drop politics. Business, ICT, Moving Images, Politics. OK, I've never heard of Moving Images in my life. Maybe take General Studies or something just so shore it up; a lot of unis accept it.
