  1. Well funnily enough you've managed to make it up, thick fuck. and where do you get the idea that theyre calling for a boycott ? theyre calling a meeting so that fans, including yourself can stand up and give their opinion Baggio; come along in your i love mike ashley t shirt and have your say
  2. lifted from nufc.blog ; worth a comment or two big bopper // Jan 22, 2009 at 5:29 PM the majority seem to be in agreement that something needs to be done to sort out this mess. NUSC are trying to give fans the opportunity to be an organised and centralised group who can pull together opinions and work for the one thing we all have in common, our love of Newcastle United. what has occurred over the last few months all boils down to the underhand way that KK was treated when manager - thats why we protested in the first place, why the fanzines and .com suggested a supporters club be formed and why some supporters stepped up to the plate and in their own time (and for free), agreed to set up the embryo of our first open supporters club for many years; affiliated to the football supporters federation (FSF) and supporters direct, a body set up by national government to help give supporters a say in the running of their club. All good stuff. If we want to effect change we have to do it together; splinter groups will get us nowhere. at the moment too many are too willing to slag off the supporters club without having any idea of what it is about. you only see the joining fee, immediately convince yourself you are being ripped off and close your eyes and ears to it. some may have ulterior motives; some may not be able to affort the fee. others may think it is ineffective, wont achieve anything or that it is somehow linked to the club and is working in cahoots with them. It isnt. Unless we give it the opportunity to succeed by supporting its aims it will fail. Then the doubters can say i told you so. Do it from the inside, be part of it, speak with them and see if their aims are the same as yours. The bickering between fans is doing as much harm to the region as Ashley Wise and LLambias’ inaction. supporters united can and will effect change, influence those in positions who can make change and be a force for good. Disharmony gets us nowhere. put aside our differences of opinion on policy and mistrust of a bunch of supporters who are just wanting what all of us are striving to see (thats NUFC to again be seen as the best both on and off the field) and rally behind the common cause, be seen to pull together and not concerned by petty playground squabbles concerning their failure to collect any more than £3,000 for a cause that many of our relatives may be afflicted with in the past currently or in the future; or whether this bunch are ripping us all off with our tenners. they aren’t and can’t because they have put in place a process that wont allow this to happen. For the good of us all and the future direction of our club, unite together. Together we might effect change ; change for good, not bad.
  3. on the finance thing; we all knew he was forced to pay off the mortgage the halls set up and that was at least £57m. reflecting on the mortgage. it was used to develop the ground and in light of developments since it was completed, experts in that field consider it to be one of the best pieces of business shepherd and hall did; rebuilding SJP to the quality they did and then doing it on a mortgage which by standards of Arsenal's looks chicken feed. liverpool, everton, spurs and chelsea would snap your hands off for a 52,000 searter stadium on a mortgage of £57m. Ashley should take a cold hard look at myself and the people he did the deal with (and those who assisted/advised him). with the mortgage still in place we would have had that £100m to invest back into the club in a positive way, not lining the coffers of barclays debt machine. he should have done full due diligence.....fact; he should have considered re mortgaging rather than paying it off in cash......fact; he should have explained all of this 18 months ago..........fact; i equate his handling of the mortgage to the guy who saves all his pennies, pays off his mortgage packs in work and then finds that he has no money to feed his family. A foolish and selfish thing to do, as his kids starve to death or get taken into care. some call him prudent, others a fool. on the remaining £40m; without a full set of accounts and the previous years figures to match up against, i dont know how much we were in debt, whether that was serviceable debt, debt on transfer fees stil due or debt due to the companys trading position. on the increase in wages during the period; does that include the £4.6m+ to Allardyce and his backroom staff What we do know is that mike ashley paid off debt but then placed it in another account ready to collect when the club is sold. is the club worth the value he paid for it £136m or did he get if on the cheap - over £100m cheaper than it was worth, cos apparently its now worth nearly £245m; or does he just want some other mug to pay him what he thinks he is owed for his folly. its all in the spin
  4. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/...le_Kinnear.html Joe Kinnear has blamed Newcastle's plight on his predecessors and claims he is sick of "carrying the can". The Magpies' season hit a new low on Saturday when they lost 3-0 to Blackburn, managed by former Toon boss Sam Allardyce, leaving them only two points clear of the relegation zone. Kinnear, who took over at St James' Park following Kevin Keegan's resignation in September, has a contract until the end of the season but has come under pressure from disgruntled fans. However, he feels the squad was not up to scratch when he arrived. "I've inherited this," Kinnear said. "They are not my players, everybody has forgotten that. "But our biggest problem is a lack of strength in depth. Why wasn't it addressed by the last manager (Keegan) or the manager before him (Allardyce)? "I am carrying the can for it. It is as simple as that." Kinnear, who claimed this week he has been offered a "lucrative" contract to stay at the helm past the end of the season, is optimistic owner Mike Ashley will provide money to strengthen the squad. "I have spelled out the gravity of the situation," Kinnear continued. "I say, 'We're not prepared for anything like the disaster we face and you've got to realise the importance of that'. "I want to be judged on what I bring in. The depth of the first-team squad is not right at the moment. "We must look to stay up this season and have a big clear-out in the summer and address everything completely differently." Kinnear admits he is worried the Magpies could be playing in the Coca-Cola Championship next season. He added: "I lie in bed and worry and dread this situation. I'm a proud fella and I don't want to be relegated."
  5. I expect an announcement from kinnear at todays press conference linking us with this guy; Masal Bugduv, despite the report below. Several media outlets were left red-faced after tipping Moldovan international Masal Bugduv as football's next big thing only for it to emerge that the player does not exist - a web of blog postings had created the player out of nothing. (Guardian) what odds on him being one of our targets ?
  6. wholesale changes in January and then we have the manager saying the players need 6 months to settle; by then we are in the championship. if we cant beat west ham at home then how many points do you think we are going to pick up at home when the likes of man utd, chelsea, arsenal and everton have still to come here, not forgetting the great unwashed and the smog monsters. and with away games at man city, spurs, west brom, blackburn liverpool villa and hull, the big question is can kinnear motivate this squad to get the results needed to keep us up from these games. that just leaves fulham and portsmouth that should be nailed on home wins, not discounting the six we demand from smogs and great unwashed. wise is now more involved than ever in events up at the training ground, he is actively touting the whole squad as potentail sales in order to reduce the wage bill, not strengthen the squad. loverkrands for charlie ?; ferguson for Barton, mido for smith
  7. you can listen to the full discussion with harris on the listen again section on radio 5 website; programme wqas football matters and newcastle were talked about at around 8.40pm. guests were robert peston, bbc finance reporter and john majeski, chairman of Reading. interesting that there is no mention in the journal piece of the bit where Harris referredto newcastle fans as zebras. wonder how many times that phrase has been referred to in the boardroom. it sounds very much like the sort of condescending remark used in anger, rather than than in a complimentary tone. Perhaps thats how Ashley see's us. interesting also to hear we were taken off the market because of necessity rather than a desire to take the club forward.
  8. i am now more convinced than ever that someone up at SJP is taking the piss regarding press statements, an insider said etc etc. l can hear a little weazel now, squeaking " i know what'le boil the geordies piss, lets tell them we're signing Mido" ,,,,, sits back down and giggles like a potato smsh robot...agh...agh.....agh....a.a.a.a.a.a.a. er the sooner this transfer window is over and we can target our anger in just one direction the better. united we (hopefully) stand
  9. wouldnt be surprised if city held back any offer until just before the deadline date, giving us little or no time to spend the money. Tactical perhaps; they are after all in the dog fight themselves.
  10. Smith hits out after Newcastle agree Mido swap deal with Boro - The Mail Alan Smith is furious after Newcastle attempted to offload him to north-east rivals Middlesbrough behind his back. Magpies boss Joe Kinnear agreed to swap the injury-prone 28-year-old, who has been out for the past three months following an ankle ligament operation, for Boro striker Mido. But Smith claims he was never informed talks were taking place. And Smith, a £6million signing from Manchester United 18 months ago, insists he has no intention of leaving St James' Park. A friend told The Sun: 'Alan’s really angry about this. He has been working hard to regain his fitness and wants to do well — at Newcastle. He is back in training and should be ready for selection by the end of the month. He does not want to go anywhere else.' mido; he's nearly a geordie you know - surely not
  11. might go something like this; " i now need only £10m to spend cos ive just spent £6m on shola ameobi. This kid has the potential to be a legend at NUFC and fill Alan's Shearers boots. Players like Shola are the future of this club and i'm delighted and i'm sure the supporters of Newcastle Utd are delighted that we have secured his services on a three year deal. I think and so does Mike, that shola can make it into the England squad and i will be telling mr Capello so."
  12. from todays chronicle; Kinnear -"the transfer window is not the ideal time to recruit" well thats a new one on me; any ideas when is a good time to recruit ?
  13. Are we seeing the start of a support the Hull ONE campaign; banners for saturday anyone ?
  14. like many, i have been on toon travel trips in the past, have met keith and know one of the lads he was with on Saturday; Normal dedicated fans who love NUFC. I feel very strongly about what has happened to Keith and believe that this could happen to anyone who attends a game and comes across someone who they have crossed in the past or has a dislike towards them. It takes two to tango and the guy who was remonstrating with him has every right to his opinion, However, he should at least appreciate the opinion of others and stand up and explain his own conduct. this is what Ashley, Llambias and Wise have brought us down to; fighting among ourselves and while this continues the club slides further and further back and they act in the manner of Nero; "fiddling while Rome burns". they must be laughing thir little mockney socks off tonight.
  15. It's a scan of my first ever match ticket from that game. I'd imagine that was the last time it was simply called the West Stand. V stoke City April 1967 (or possibly 1966) me dad told me ma we were going to the pictures in town (the queens, where trillions is now) to see James Bond; went to the match instead. gallowgate corner under the 10 minute flag pole;
  16. I think you're missing the point. The clarity of the posts before yours are cristel clear why they are miffed about this press release. So; the point i am missing is that the press statement in some peoples opinion was mis guided; others think it was badly constructed and some say that it doesnt represent their own thoughts so they might take their ball home and not let anyone play with it. perhaps NUSC should be an organisation that represents the cuckoo masses then, sitting back while the big bird shits in its nest; does everything democratically and "chatters while Rome burns" calls an agm in leazes park to save the expense of hiring a meeting room and sits back and takes Ashley at his word. If we keep the pressure on and Ashley doesnt get a buyer (highly likely in the current climate) he might just have to come back and listen to us the fans; ask us to call off the dogs and work together with him until the situation settles down and the money markets and money people come genuinely to table. far fetched perhaps but no more so than people running around trying to get consortiums together or pursuade football people to rally behind their half baked ideas to buy the club as is happening with the nigerians and south africans
  17. having read the comments made regarding the recent press statement i wonder exactly what people actually want to happen with regard to Mike Ashley, llambias and wise and their continued mis management of the club. NUSC was set up because fans were clamouring for a single point of contact; a voice that would be heard and would eliminate the need for bedsheet protests and the so called rent a mob that embarresses some of you. out of 52,000 supporters, 250 turned up and 25 to 30 offered their services for free to get a genuine supporters club up and running. anyone with any sense would see that a supporters club would need to be financed yet within days people are posting complaints about a £10 membership fee. next theyre criticising the representatives for putting out press statements they dont agree with. guys; your missing the point. while the mechanisms of a supporters club are being set up - something that will take time - it is vital that we continue to keep the pressure on Ashley. if NUSC put pressure on sponsors, they in turn will put pressure on Ashley. if he wont listen to the supporters he will almost certainly listen to the sponsors who wont want to see their own companies being dragged into a campaign that is none of their making. These are the people with the real power behind the throne. money talks, but lack of money talks more. Ashley is in a financial pickle at present and wants to use NUFC as the jewel that refills his even dwindling bank account. he wants to rip the club off for millions and is holding out for his best price. Ashley and his mob will be laughing into their cristel this morning seeing the fans arguing amongst themselves; the so called best fans in the world getting hung up about scaring off sponsors, upsetting people and clubbing together with £10 each to form and orderly queue to beat them with feathers. show your mettle guys; come up with suggestions on how we deal with Ashley. do we sit back and wait; if so for how long. do we take him at his word or do we fight back; embarress him, humiliate him; show him and his mob up for what they are - a group of individuals who in 3 months have done more damage to NUFC than any rent a mob . do we picket his stores; organise sit ins; mass protest or do we wave the white hankie; winge on about the nasty rich man and his mates and go back to our keyboards and type bleating messages about fans who want to make a difference; how it might upset sponsors and damage the club. Remember, its Ashleys club for gods sake; he holds the keys. scared off sponsors will come back; new sponsors will climb on board and sensible sponsors will join the chorus putting pressure on him. at least the so called bed sheet protestors had the guts to get out there. similarly those who put their stake in the ground in trying to create a supporters club and put more sanctioned pressure on the owner and his mates. If we hadnt protested before and after the Hull game he wouldnt have even contemplated selling up because he thought - and probably still does think - that he was in the right to sanction his executives to buy players and hand them to the manager. do you think Xisco is the finished article; worth £5 million; come on guys. wake up and smell the coffee !!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. there have been some interesting comments and ideas posted regrading NUSC and i'm sure that the folks setting up the club will be taking them all onboard. i know everyone involved has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to get this porganisation off the ground. the people who attended the last two meetings were the one's who attended the first meeting and made a commitment there and then to get involved in the setting up of the club itself. You cant have a committee of 250+ its only been 2 weeks and much focus has been on keeping the pressure on Ashely, llambias, wise and Jiminez while giving 100% support to the team. A two tier approach; setting up the club while continuing the protest. members will be kept informed of all developments and the important thing is that the membership reflects the clubs aims and allows it to speak for and on behalf of supporters of newcastle united. the club can take up issues on behalf of its members - not getting refunds owed on season tickets despite being promised them 4 months ago - problems with heavy handed stewarding - coherently explaining the fans views on Ashley et al's stewardship of the club - ensuring that any new owners dont make the same mistakes as Ashley and understand what this club means to supporters . Now that ashley has put a deadline on bids for the club, has anyone considered what will happen if none come forward. we only know from press statements released by ashleys "friends" in the press who write his press releases for him that 7 interested parties have voiced an interest; yet four weeks no firm bid has materialised. in the current financial climate we could be stuck with an impotent owner who wont invest in the team come january and a board of execs who dont even watch the club anymore and are just taking our money. what role do Wise and Jiminez now have at the club if Ashley is not interested in team affairs anymore and obviously wont be putting any money into investment in new players. ashley is no longer a billionaire; according to reports in the sunday times his share values in various investments has dropped by over £900 million. together with his alleged gambling losses on HBOS and his personal investment in NUFC, the City have lost faith in Ashley and he is not viewed as a sensible investment and if he doesnt find a buyer willing to pay over the odds for NUFC dont expect any january signings. send off your membership, trust the people who have done such a great so far to get the club off the ground; support them in their campaign to keep the pressure on Ashley and together we really can make positive changes happen at NUFC. NUSC will announce benefits of membership and "value for your membership fee" as soon as they can. what you can be certain of however is that the people at the heart of NUSC are supporters; not imported executives being paid handsomely by an owner who hasnt a clue and who cant see that his "friends" are ripping him off and tearing the heart out of the club we all love. join NUSC, you know it makes sense geordies united, will never be defeated...........
  19. lets remember that NUSC came about following calls from thousands of fans to various websites and fanzines all asking what should we do to sort out Ashley, how should we protest and seeking some sort of co ordinated plan to oust Ashley, Wise, Llambias etc. When the guys at TF, The Mag and NUFC.COM responded, a meeting was called at very short notice and over 250 fans attended met and urged for a supporters club to be set up. 25 or 30 people volunteered to help set up NUSC; give up their time and effort for free and sow the seed that could be built upon to create THE Supporters Club. Yes, it will cost money to set it up and given that the folks who have stepped forward are all volunteers, i think its something to be applauded not ridiculed or looked at in suspicious circumstances. Give them a chance. if you think the membership is too steep, let them know by e mailing them directly or sending in your membership with a polite note explaining your scepticism. I'm sure they are working on something which will show value for money in terms of the membership fee. It's only been two weeks so give them time. their website says that if it all goes belly up and they fold, any monies collected will be donated to the Sir Bobby Robson Cancer Fund, so dont think your gonna be ripped off. They have Accountants, Auditors and Solicitors among their ranks (all supporters of NUFC) who are giving up their time for free to ensure that this club starts off with all the right mechanisms in place and that no impropriety is taking place. the most important thing however is that as Newcastle fans we all unite and keep the pressure on Ashley and his cronies. theyre still there; nothings changed except none of them bother to even attend matches never mind support the team but still collect astronomical pay packets taken straight from our pockets. Keep supporting the Team but dont support those running the club. Boycott Ashleys shops, dont spend money in the ground on match days and get behind a collective group of like minded fans who are trying to do their best to set up NUSC. Together we can make this happen. we can slso show any new owners that the fans of NUFC are united, capable and a collective force for good as long as we are not treated in the manner that the existing board have shown. Together under one voice we can be a force to be reckoned with.
