  1. Chawaka-wow! Ugly men and women on television. No way would Juliet Bravo be produced now with her. No way would Duncan Wood or Paul Frost get jobs on telly, let alone Mike Neville. Have you seen that fat BBC news reporter with a missing eye and a limp? Freaks me out. What?
  2. Iain Banks' latest book is quite deliberately set between 'fall of the wall and the fall of the towers', he claims the former heralded in a false dawn of hope that the latter smashed. Good one Renton, 'Frankie says' t-shirts too.
  3. Worlds apart the two ends of that decade. Ecstasy changed everything in terms of popular culture. Arguably broader than just that, when the wall came down in 89, it seemed the world was becoming a more chilled out place. Mind you, the Germans were probably right on it by 89 so you never know actually.
  4. I suppose that's an argument but it's not one I really buy (no pun intended). I think they would already benefit from being able to bring in 25 top class players (plus dozens of U21s no doubt) whereas struggling clubs are stuck with what they've got from the end of January. I.e. I don't really think the window stops them going beserk it just stops poorer clubs selling to stay solvent or buying to stay up etc. outside the window. However the system ends up, its never going to be a perfect market so you will always be able to take advantage of it if you have the most money. It stops poorer clubs buying to stay up but at the same time stops poorer clubs losing their best players and going down. Anyway, i only came in here to say Santa Cruz would be canny imo
  5. Wouldnt Man City then just literally buy the title?
  6. LBAB was in Longbenton station for years. Had to look up deeley-boppers. Kappa jackets.
  7. Remember them t-shirts like a string vest? T-bags or something like that. Yeah, dont think i had one though. Bit clubby for me at the time
  8. Farahs, pods and tank-tops. Top clobber. Have we had luminous terry-toweling socks with light grey slip-ons?
  9. Pods. The shoes. With Farahs.
  10. Aye but 2J is young and in love, makes you do daft things.
  11. Me mates older sister wearing fingerless gloves with lacey bits Sodastreams!
  12. I'm always a bit suspicious of men who love cats. Whiff of lavendar tbh.
  13. Depends on whether you think teams should be allowed to look at what they have got in competitive matches before finalising transfers. If thats the principle then you have to allow the 25 to change.
  14. KD, very few human killings are just for the sake of killing, they are in wars which are on the whole derived from our animalistic pack-mentality of confrontation over land and power. This is derived from our genetic inheritance and observed in nearly all species on earth. Even plants fight for supremacy in their own way.
  15. Whats wrong with Santa Cruz? Similar player to Carroll, likes to lead the line as a lone striker. Therefore in my eyes we need someone like that, so Carroll doesnt have to try and do what he did on Sunday for 38 games. We need competition for places, i'm sort of hoping we keep hold of Smith too who provides cover and competition for Tiote (who will probably pick up a ban or two). Get rid of Best to Blackpool, Ranger on loan, then we would have AC, RSC, PL and SA. No?
  16. DWLD 8 points. You have us on 13 points out of 18
  17. Bigger than Notting Hill carnival, Love parade, Fete de la musique?
  18. You have to differentiate between people expressing views and governments oppressing a religion. I may not agree with what they have to say... you know Voltaire and all that shit. Cya l8er my taxis beeping outside I'm going maccy Ds A nice hat was right then.
  19. Do you care to cite examples of this sort of behaviour en masse across the states? What I'm insinuating is I doubt you'll find evidence that the majority of a populace numbering over 300 million are taking part in this sort of rabid nonsense, and if a relatively small protest like this breaks your heart in such a manner what do you propose? So much for freedom of speech... Happens every weekend in deeeeeeeeep South apparently. He takes things quite seriously for assilleekunt.
  20. "No moustache has caused quite as much suspicion since the IAAF’s unscheduled dawn visit to Caster Semenya’s house." The Telegraph.
