I emailed my line manager, contracts manager & our planner on Monday afternoon that I was struggling with my breathing and wouldnât be in yesterday. Yesterday afternoon the planner sent me my work schedule for today Contracts manager has this morning sent official company advice that was issued on Friday. All my colleagues saw it on Friday too. There have been no further updates to the company advice since then, not even after Mondayâs change in government advice. Yesterday morning I emailed the our senior manager with the letter from my consultant detailing my respiratory issues and asking him, in view of Monday evenings change in government advice, what I should do and where I stand. A brief fob off email from him and then silence. Monday afternoon I sent an email to the individual âleadingâ the companyâs Covid 19 response. 10k employees: 9k office admin, help desk & management, almost all been told to work from home. 1000 engineers earning the profits to pay them; weâre all still required to turn in. This individual admitted in his reply to me that he had no idea how many engineers have underlying health conditions that fall into the vulnerable groups as detailed in Mondayâs government advice. Obviously since Monday Iâve heard nothing more. I expect heâs been busy like but still...

you mean round about this time?.....

Schools are in various states of closure round our way, mostly due to teachers with a kid with a cough having to self isolate for 14 days. If there was some sort of government requisition of the ÂŁ375 private health testing kits that the likes of football clubs and MPs are getting tested with then the teachers currently at home could be getting tested .Same goes for NHS staff in the same boat.

Oh that mutual friend, tell the lucky wee fucker to stay safe The whole country are now trying to minimise risk whilst continuing to maximise income/profit. Not going to the pub reduces risk. Me at home reduces the risk to the current Mrs PL who, along with her mother, are FUMING that Poole Lighthouse have cancelled this Fridayâs opera performance

Iâm under the care of a respiratory consultant at Poole hospital..was referred by my GP. They couldnât take treatment any further.

Noises coming from our occupational health wife who Iâm conducting an online affair with at the moment are disappointing...theyâre going to assess how well asthma symptoms are âcontrolledâ Sheâs an RGN with an MSc & a NEBOSH cert. Iâm fairly certain the good old Corvid 19 virus isnât going to take into account whether Iâm taking my fuckin inhalers correctly before it assaults my respiratory system. But Iâm standing by to be corrected by my employers who are clearly keen to show that their employees health is at the top of their agenda at this time

I expect you get a flu jab primarily because youâre a front line A & E nurse?... deputy CMO judt said all asthmatics who get a jab are to socially isolate. If youâre needing a bang on something a bit pokey hit me up I got good shit man

They bailed the banks out quicker than you could say âfancy a sub Tarquin?â but apparently wonât lift a finger to save tens of thousands ordinary businesses about to go to the wall. The only surprise is that itâs a new way to fuck ordinary people over..

I know, theyâre utter cunts which makes me think thereâs a chance theyâll still insist those in vulnerable groups still attend work. Looks like they can legally still do it. I think itâs unlikely but you never know,,
-
Just read that. Unreal and sadly makes Piers Morgan on the right side of the argument. Hope youâre well Andrew mate

What are the chances any employer insisting an employee in a vulnerable group who canât work from home still attends? Mine has till now, as I said Iâm basically bullshittihg to get this week off (obvs before guidance changes today) youâll be ok but your employer has got to tell you not to come in before theyâre legally bound to pay you and theyâre not strictly bound to reading this.. https://www.ellisjones.co.uk/blog/article/coronavirus-covid19-are-you-entitled-to-wages-if-you-self-isolate

I couldnât before the advice changed today. Ive had to tell work that my asthma is playing up, not that I should be signed off due to Corona virus. Thereâs nothing wrong with me, Iâve got no symptoms. My issues are the risk of infection from the doctorâs surgeries I work in all day everyday because (officially as of today according to the government) Iâm in a vulnerable group. But it looks like my employer could still require me to attend

Not as yet mate I donât think... I think itâll be left to the contractor youâre subbying for..

We had âone on oneâ interviews with NHSPS last month, they just wanted us to sign a bit of paper accepting the new T&Cs. âCan I see the contract please?â I chirped up. âNo we canât show you the contract!â Came the reply As you say, I can tupe across on my current contract but they plainly want us on these new ones ASAP. The thing in our advantage is theyâre chronically short of engineers anyway and now this virus shit. But that is also now a disadvantage as opportunities to jump ship are going to be fewer than before Bunter started piping up at tea time
