    No. The UK , USA and quite a few EU countries want Russia out of Swift but Germany, Hungary and one other don’t want to do it. Apparently this would really hurt Russia. From what I understand though, it would also hurt the three EU countries who are holding out so on one hand their reluctance is understandable.

    Unless you are talking about invading Russia, I’m not sure how risking WW3 to turn Ukraine into a bloodbath would change the oil situation.

    Probably, but the world seems to have changed this week and hopefully the sanctions will ramp up and eventually lead to Putins removal. I think / hope he has miscalculated and the West will no longer “play along” with him. The optimist in me, particularly given how the worlds people are shrinking with social media, would hope that the younger generation will eventually be able to step out from under their day to day oppression and move the country forward. Depends if the World remains firm against his regime.
