  1. We are not going to lose any deals. All these countries will still want trade with us and we’ll be able to get better deals because both sides will be able to focus on just areas that are mutually beneficial to each other without the EU’s external tarrifs getting in the way. On top of that we are free to focus on the real growth areas of the world.
  2. Im sure you already know this but.... Theres a great deal of difference between having the flexibility to do our own “Free” trade deals in our “own” interests than deals that are part of 27 countries that are skewered to “others” interests.
  3. I’m afraid a lot of you just don’t get it, in the same way you dismiss the way Thatcher re-invigorated the country in the 80’s. We may may not be an imperial power house any more but we are still the worlds 5th largest economy with a hell of a lot of influence in the world in all sorts of ways whether that’s our soft power, our universities, our language, our tech sector or our service sector of law and finance. 95% of the worlds growth is outside of Europe and we will be far better placed outside of the EU to take advantage of that growth. The EU still has lots of eurozone financial issues under the surface and also are heading to a much more federal position. We are finally going to have a sensible immigration policy that caters for the UK’s needs, not just a source of cheap labour. I see nothing but a very positive future for this country and think we will look back in a few years and wonder why we didn’t do it sooner.
  4. And the hall loved it, the journalists loved it and the country loved it. A strong performance with good news on cancer treatment, Petrol prices and tripling council house building via councils. Overall placing the party firmly in the centre and sending out a come and join us message to the disillusioned labour centrist voters.
  5. Great performance from May. Absolutely knocked it out the park.
  6. Naturally you are discounting the scenario of a deal being struck which will lead to a boost to the economy and business in general, the Brexit discourse dropping off the news cycle and a new Tory leader having over 3 years to concentrate on good old domestic policy to build on the extra 3 million jobs, the billions extra for the NHS and the record levels of house building. Doubtful the electorate will want to gamble all that in 2022 on an bearded old man peddling a socialist Eutopia. Depending who replaces Corbyn, 2027 is the likely timing of a Labour Government.
  7. The economy? That’s what they said about Thatcher in the 80’s.... 18 years they remained in government. Coincidentally the last time Labour went too far left.

  9. Of course a deal is still on. It’s going to go down the wire and then all sorted out at a dramatic last summit.
  10. Your only answer on this whole subject is an armegeddon scenario. Lots of factories use JIT parts from outside the EU and manage. The deal that will be agreed will sort all these problems.
  11. Show me where I’ve said I want a hard Brexit and a hard border?
  12. I’m not afraid. Weve already had it man. Remain forecast all sorts of armegeddon scenarios and still lost. As demonstrated in Scotland and here, they are toxic events and should be avoided. I’m sure you said we should never have one again.
  13. European membership is far bigger than any one party and has been a growing thorn in this country for 30 years. We should have done this in 2005 but Blair u turned and opened the doors to cheap foreign labour instead. Only the sense of Brown kept us out of the Euro. As for the deal, I think we’ll end up back at her Lancaster house speech with a Canada +++ arrangement. Both sides want a free trade deal and once they agree on the Irish arrangements we can get on with the implementation over the next 2 years. It seems to me that both sides are now putting more effort into the Irish border and sensibly looking at the greater role technology can play. As always, it’s a massive game of chicken but a deal will be agreed.
  14. Are you talking about whether remain should be on the ballot paper?
  15. According to the poll god, John Curtice, there has been no significant change in EU voting intentions. As for the negogiations, they are far from over and I still fully expect a deal to be agreed.
  16. He was pretty clear on the radio, “Remain should not be an option on the ballot paper”.
  17. According to unites Len Mcluskey, the only question on the paper should be deal or no deal.
  18. And out from under its little rock it climbs with depressing predictability You do know you have an ignore button Tragic
