WTO won’t get through the commons. Any Brexit that doesn’t allow for our own trade deals is pointless.
-
I think if she sorts this week and gets to phase 2, then she’ll step down pretty quickly and a new broom will revamp the cabinet and give it a year or so to get a deal without calling an election.
-
I’m all for a successful Brexit but Westminster looks to be struggling to deliver it. If I woke up tomorrow and it was cancelled I’d just get on with my day. Much prefer no brexit to bodged Brexit. If Labour had a stronger leader they would be romping home.
-
I must agree that now is the moment that Labour should be throwing Brexit under the bus. Sure a lot of labour voters are brexiteers, but come an election I think most of those would fall in line behind the magic money tree. Opportunity missed.

It will be all sorted when Theresa explains the big words to Arlene.

Man from earth 9/10 Apparently they brought a sequel out this year as well. -
And what’s this, agreement on Ireland. Phase 2 here we come.
-
In other news, sounds like the divorce bill is now agreed.

A selfless act to help rid the young of student debt. Didn’t realise at the time he was lying.

It just seems a fact of life that young people are idealistic and left wing. Thankfully they get older and wiser.
-
It couldn’t be any more apt. The EU adapted the rules of the customs union with regard to Turkey. They will adapt again to suit the UK and solve the Irish border issue.
-
The only reason Turkey is referenced is to highlight the EU’s willingness to adapt the customs union. All we are after is an adaption that suits us. Im genuinely surprised that reasonably bright people are struggling with this.
-
I think this is all a bit of a storm in a tea cup. On the one hand I feel that it’s not in the UK’s interest to reveal commercially sensitive information about certain sectors. Why give the people across the table any extra help. But secondly, most business sectors probably have a better handle on how it may effect them than the government. IE; the very many public reports on the financial sector.

So quoting the UK governments negotiating position is thick? Ok
-
So quoting the governments negotiating position is wummary now.
-
Im quickly coming to the conclusion I’m the only one that does.
-
Theres literally no point arguing over this. All I am doing is relaying the long standing position of the UK government You shouting it won’t work doesn’t make me stupid for quoting the governments position. You are 100% confident it can’t be done, the government is not.
-
Ofcourse they are. Why else do you think the UK government are trying to negotiate one?
-
Well that pretty much backs up what I’ve been trying to explain for the last few months. Naturally we would tie it up a bit better than Turkey.
-
Im not sure what you are failing to grasp We are currently in one form of the customs union with the EU. Turkey is in a BESPOKE customs union with the EU. It’s different to ours. We want a different bespoke customs union that keeps as much as what we have but allows us to carry out our own 3rd party FTA’s.
-
No I don’t want Turkeys deal and you clearly don’t understand I’m not sure what else to say. This is the solution and what the UK is after.
-
Im not sure what you are getting at. Setting up a bespoke customs union is the answer to all of this.
-
So we can do our own trade deals with the parts of the world that are booming.
-
I suppose the bottom line is both sides know a good deal is in each other’s interests and the EU will no doubt welcome the ongoing payments from the UK for the various ongoing projects. It’s now simply about getting to the end point with both sides being able to sell the various compromises.
-
No, it’s a bespoke custom union with the EU similar to Turkeys.
