  1. As has been discussed many times and admitted by Labour, we totally underestimated the numbers that would come and unlike virtually every other European country we opted out of the 7 year freeze on eastern bloc immigration.
  2. I advocated loan signings from top clubs and gave the example of Bamford at Boro. A first team regular who got them 17 goals. I don't know who the equivalent of "a Bamford" is this year. As for Mitro and Gayle, I hope you are right, but as everyone goes on about this being a very tough league to get out of, I would be happier if we had a better quality striker come in before the season starts, either bought or on loan.
  3. Totally agree. We just fucked up big time with the eastern bloc.
  4. I much prefer our approach of getting people from the camps. I'd even be happy for us to take more this way).
  5. Whether I know about a player in advance has fuck all to do with getting some good loan signings. There's plenty of players bought and loaned who I've never heard of until we are interested in them. That doesn't mean fans then can't get excited about them. I'd never heard of Cabaye, but it was obvious from the press / fans he was a good player, therefore as a fan I could get excited. Asking me about who they may be, given my well proclaimed lack of interest in watching anyone but Newcastle is about as childish as it's possible to get on the Internet
  6. Because I'd either have heard of them, looked at their stats or seen the football brains in getting excited.
  7. That's a low blow and you know it. This is a ridiculous argument btw. You can't honestly tell me Dwight Gayle got you excited or that you would be upset if Rafa brought in a couple of prem loan signings.
  8. God you're a predictable bore I haven't discredited anything Rafa does. Quite the opposite in fact. That doesn't mean it's wummary not to get excited by Dwight Gayle or wummary to hope he gets a couple of good loan signings in.
  9. Why under 21? Why not one of City's spare strikers or Liverpool's or real madrids? Does Dwight Gayle excite you?
  10. Because we have Rafa, Because we have lots of money etc etc . There's still time, but Dwight Gayle hasn't stirred my loins.
  11. What did we have to do with the coup?
  12. Sounds like Turkeys about to turn its back on the EU and go over to the dark side. (Putin).
  13. Gayle 15 from 63? No nowt about him hope he's good. Perez should do well in the championship. Mitrovic, I'm yet to be convinced. Some of his misses last year were shocking. Would you not like a better striker in or are you happy to go with what we've got?
  14. No, I'm happy to buy as much young talent as Rafa sees fit. However, I'm also aware that because we are in the championship it may be that we can't tempt a few of Rafas 1st or 2nd choices to sign. In that scenario I would like to think that Rafa can tap up a few of the big clubs and get a loan deal or two. IE: on the striker front. I would still love to see a better striker than what we have so far come in. Ideally we buy him, but if that proves problematic I would welcome a decent loanee. I honestly can't see anything bizarre with that train of thought
  15. I'm back. I never said that as you know fine well. Him Bamford and Ince were past examples of championship clubs making decent loan signings. Trot on. I'm out again.
  16. There was nowt to discuss to be fair Hoping that Rafa might use a few contacts to get a bit of quality in to get us promoted is normally not controversial. (Unless it's a quiet day on TT)
  17. But that has nothing to do with his loan spell being successful All a bit silly this. I'm out.
  18. 10 goals from 15 appearances. Nowt wrong with that.
  19. I think I made it perfectly clear in my last post. If for whatever reason we are unable to buy a particular player in a position but get the chance of a quality loanee then happy days imo.
