Welcome to the Foreign Office Boris.

They had better be pro west considering there's USA bases there.

Turkish Military release statement saying they have taken over.

Hopes it's a Labour type coup.

Jesus. British Tourists all over Turkey.

And that guy from Sweden / Norway ?? who shot all those kids on the island. Regardless of what triggered him, it's devastating that such an easily accessible "weapon" has resulted in over 300 deaths / casualties. Why now get involved in the risky business of suicide belts and automatic weapons when you can simply hire a truck. Horrible.
-
Problem is you can't do that from the air and like the taliban they will simply dissipate and either pop up in the next country or wait til the troops go home. There's also no likelihood of the world coming together to do it.
-
I agree. You missed "known" out of your post I was replying to.

Only watched about 12 mins in but pretty depressing stuff the people on the march having those attitudes. I know we have the EDL and their "view" scales down the further you go into society. I wonder if it's similar on the Muslim side. I'm not a racist but...... Not sure how I feel living among people who think we are the scum of the earth and destined to burn in hell. Not sure what you do about it.

I don't think they know yet. Probably have to go through his online activity first.

I'm only going off what I've heard on normal news so happy to be wrong, but I think after the Paris attacks the Belguim PM said they had lost control of Molonbeek? Dunno.
-
You might be right but to me, the propaganda / cause is already out of the bag. These low life criminals that seem to carry out a lot of this are not relying on complex messages. And * just going on information I've heard on the news * France and Belguim seem to have problems with "Muslim" areas that are no go areas for police. Apparently such areas in Nice as well. So a lot of this hatred will be festering / discussed regularly.

I googled that earlier for some inspirational hope. Take your pick. http://indy100.independent.co.uk/article/10-alternative-ways-to-defeat-isis-that-arent-air-strikes--WknFKxYmqg

Their message gets out in lots of ways. The warning in April of planned summer attacks in Southern France, Italy and Costa de sol came from Africa. The point about the news coverage (not that I'm suggesting it's blocked), is that it will be celebrated by ISIS terrorists / wannabes all around the world and allows them to see how easy it was carried out and how devastating the results. I must confess I'd never given any thought to this type of attack or how horrific the casualties could be. Likewise their will be terrorists who can't get hold of automatic weapons but can easily get their hands on a lorry. I'm not meaning to argue about this btw, I've stayed on promenade des Anglais and loved the place and just feel very pissed off this morning.

You'd be wrong. Just look at what Chez posted.

Fuck off They day I ponder stained glass windows you can pipe up.
-
Also each attack reviewed in detail on 24 hour news worldwide is the biggest advert they could hope for.
-
They'd just transport their "message" to another country to get it out as Bin Laden and his people used to do from their caves.
-
Aye, IS's leader has been telling followers in France to do exactly this for some time. As for arming civilians, no thanks. That just gives more unbalanced people opportunities to commit horrific acts. The bottom line is Governments can do nothing about this sort of terrorism. If some low life sympathiser decides it's his day for "glory", it's going to happen.
