Spot on. When we played the ball into space for Ranger and Best they didnt do too bad, but when it was into the corner areas nobody from Midfield was busting a gut to get into the box and support them. A lot of the time Best was poor and looked on his arse for confidence. Ranger, well, he has the opportunity now to stake his claim. We need to get the midfield sorted and my concern is whilst Tiote is one of our best ball winning midfield players and best passers, he gives away a lot of free kicks and gets too many bookings.

Last season was a feel good season, 3 points, goals and watching players develop, i.e Carroll, Simpson, Enrique, Colo. This season we have had some great wins and some gut smashing defeats. Aside from that, the departure of Hughton then appointing Pardew then the Carroll Saga. Its the off field stuff thats taken its toll more than anything. We now have a thread bare squad, the Routledge depart looks a VERY bad move now with Strola injured. Blackpool are in freefall at the moment (much to my enjoyment seaside shit hole) we could easily join them. Its going to be a long hard back end to the season.

Well, Ranger has his turn to get a run in and show us what he can do. IMO he needs a run in the team to prove that he can do it. Last night he made a few decent runs and when the ball is knocked into space for him he can do it. Were used to knocking the ball high up for Carroll, well, we need to adapt our game as we dont have him any more.
