Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas has backed Spurs' English contingent to bring success to White Hart Lane.
Martin Jol's expensively assembled squad includes an English spine of Paul Robinson, Ledley King, Michael Carrick, Jenas and Jermain Defoe.
Jenas has called on his team-mates to follow the example of Chelsea who, for all their spending, count England's John Terry and Frank Lampard as arguably their most influential performers.
"We have an abundance of good young English players and that can only benefit us," said Jenas.
"If you look at Chelsea and the success they have had with people like John Terry and Frank Lampard, it's important to have that English core.
"They've been around it before. English players know what this league is all about. Sometimes it's more difficult for foreign players to understand it all."
The England international joined Spurs from Newcastle in a £7 million deal and has started five games for Jol's third place Londoners.

Danny Murphy will not get picked for England on the simple basis that he plays for Charlton Athletic now & not Liverpool.

I can see Real selling him in the summer to a side that is fighting relegation (most likely us!) and he wont get another injury for over a year and he will keep that side up!

Get Moore in, instead of Boumsong.
He is more experienced and will bring Taylors/Brambles game along alot more than it does when they play along Boumsong by having always to carry £8 Million worth on your back.

Im sure that he is Feyenoords captain now and he signed a new contract in the summer, so he wont be leaving Holland just yet.
Anelka would be a good signing, then we can play to our strength rather than hoofing balls up to Shearer hoping that he will flick it on for Owen.
Then we just have 2 more positions to fill - Left back & the managers position (Hopefully)

If Owen gets injured against Austria or Poland I will be fuming.
Dyer needs to get himself sorted out, fast. No more nights out, Souness needs to get him on tag or something so that he knows where he is and what he is doing at all times. Alcohol will slow down his body from recovering from injuries and if he is going out all the time, it is going to be no good for us.
