  1. I just think with the goal difference and the run in of the teams between 3rd and 6th we're definitely the team that is up against it, so while we have a chance I don't think it's much of one and it's going to take a few shock results to make it happen.
  2. If we win the next 2 we will finish 5th above Chelsea IMO, not much chance of 4th.
  3. I think his mind was made up when he was dropped when Tiote and Cabaye returned, despite being our best player at the time.
  4. Ba's freekick, I always rated him but he went up a lot after that one.
  5. The next 3 games are winnable and if we do take maximum points then we will finish above Chelsea IMO, even if we do lose to them at Stamford Bridge.
  6. Originally said I said I think Ba will leave if the contract clause is correct, so he will be back up to Cisse. To quote the player -“The question is very simple. I want to play and if in Manchester they see me as the fourth or fifth choice, then I would rather go to a club where I can play.” He would play plenty here if we get European football, a better question would be if we can't get a 19 year old who's 5th choice at best at City to come here and be second choice then what standard of player can we attract to do it?
  7. Guidetti's ego is too big for him to come here and to not be guaranteed a start. What do you base this on? I read Koeman say he needs to work harder but I haven't read anything about him thinking he's too good not to start.
  8. Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Arteta, Song, Walcott, Rosicky, Benayoun, van Persie. Subs: Fabianski, Andre Santos, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ramsey, Djourou, Jenkinson, Chamakh. Man City: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Toure Yaya, Barry, Milner, Aguero, Nasri, Balotelli. Subs: Pantilimon, Richards, Pizarro, Dzeko, Kolarov, Tevez, De Jong. Come on City.
  9. I know Cabaye said Debachy wants to come here but I'm not sure if we're genuinely interested.
  10. And why would City sell the best young player they own? He's said he wants to leave if he doesn't get decent playing time, which he won't realistically, so why should we be in with a shout? I don't think City are the sort or club that would make an unhappy youngster stay either as they have an easy come easy go approach.
  11. Without meaning to sound arrogant but if we can't trust Gosling to come in and fill in adequately against a team fighting relegation then he needs to go.
  12. I can see us signing someone like Yoan Gouffran to play the opposite side to Ben Arfa. Ba I think is likely to leave if his contract buy out is true and then we will sign a young back up to Cisse, like Guidetti from City who is on loan at Feyenoord.
  13. He's had the joint second best start at a new club with Viukda (Leeds) and Aguero hitting 9 in 8 in the Premiership. Micky Quinn is top. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17643837
  14. I think he might be banned as he's picked up 5 since the turn of the year. EDIT - He just gets a slap on the wrist and warned about his future conduct.
  15. Every team can think of points dropped here and there, completely pointless dwelling on it and thinking what could have been.
  16. Krul, Coloccini and Ba are my 3 stand out players that have done it over a long period.
  17. That's with us winning the next 3, losing to Chelsea and picking up a point each in the final 2 games.
  18. We've now got the same amount of points as Robson finished the season with when we all booed them for finishing 5th. 6 games still to go too.
  19. His vision was to bring in better players on smaller wages, I don't really see how that wasn't an achievable vision for the club. Replacing Hughton with Pardew was a risk, as was selling Carroll last day of the window without a replacement but that's their job to make decisions like that.
  20. Absolutely. In fact any situation where you're progressing season on season represents a massive achievement which is far from easy. Only Man U manage it regularly really and they have to do it just to stand still (as it were). Taking absolutely nowt for granted here. Llambias said in a recent interview that in the clubs plan that a top ten finish was the aim this season, he also said top 8 was the plan for next and that that won't change even if we do have a higher finish this season. It's a good attitude to have and will keep some of the pressure off Pardew.
