  1. (Again if true) It would perhaps explain why we went through with the Tozer deal as Pompey were one of the other teams competing for his signature...
  2. If he can wave goodbye to £40m to get rid of Allardyce's army of experts after 6 months do you doubt it? That figure always makes me laugh. We had Lee Clark out and Round in and a goalkeeping coach replaced too. To my knowledge he brought in a few others including that sports science guy who would be on ok wages but the rest were just Masseurs etc who I honestly do not believe will be on that great a wage, they even advertised the positions on nufc.co.uk.
  3. Allardyce to Pompey it is then?
  4. 8 million for Harry fucking Redknapp!
  5. For every good player there has been a Marco Boogers, Paulo Futre and Florin Raducioiu....
  6. I was just telling Jimbo about that.
  7. Bring him back!!! With such enthusiastic team talks we will be unstoppable... http://www.soccercircus.com/
  8. I have been having nightmares of a double appointment McClaren for Newcastle and Souness for Scotland. I think I would give up on football all together if that happened...
  9. I would take him, infact I would take any fucker, over Souness....

  11. I have just bought a house (not in Newcastle though) and was lucky enough to do a private sale. Other houses in the street have went over the same time period my deal has been set up and its looking like I may have saved myself £20k upwards than if it had went to the market...
  12. I think your friend is talking shit...
  13. Sam Allardyce has reportedly made contact with Don Givens with regard to the vacant Republic of Ireland manager's job. Allardyce parted company with Newcastle United on Wednesday afternoon and confirmed that he would be taking a break from Premier League management. However, he made no reference to international coaching and 2fm radio station in Ireland are reporting that the former St James's Park boss made a phone call to Givens in relation to the Republic of Ireland post. Allardyce, who wishes to stay in football, has some history of managing in Ireland after spending a year in charge of Limerick City. He took up the role of player/manager in 1991-92 and guided the League of Ireland side to promotion from the First Division during his only season at the club. Allardyce is currently 16-1 with the bookmakers to become Steve Staunton's successor. Givens is caretaker coach of the Irish national side and part of the panel entrusted with finding a new manager. The likes of Terry Venables and Gerard Houllier have also been in the frame for the post.
  14. Sky now saying that Everton, Pompey and Blackburn have all claimed they have had no contact from us. I can keep dreaming for now...
  15. Is that ITK info? I'm hoping it came from the same bloke who told Akabusi we were signing Giles Barnes as I am still waiting on that one happening... Rather than te one who told him that Sam was going to be sacked, 24 hours before it happened? Obviously...
  16. Wait and I'll nip over to his soccer "circus" and see if hes still there this evening...
  17. Is that ITK info? I'm hoping it came from the same bloke who told Akabusi we were signing Giles Barnes as I am still waiting on that one happening...
  18. Ultimately I don't think anyone apart from the few involved in making the decision has a clue who it's going to be. And wasn't part of Mourinho's severance deal that he couldn't manage another PL team until next season? Going through the 'proper channels' could mean getting him released from this. Beat me to it!
  19. What about Ashleys mate from Tottenham's comments? 'If I were a Newcastle fan I would be very, very excited' Whilst in my heart of hearts my head still says we have no chance whatsoever the statement was that they are going through the right channels. Whose to say that isn't refering to doing a deal with Chelsea over the supposed talk of Mourinho not being able to manage another club this season. Yes I know its probably dreaming but let me be....
  20. From the league table - 8 Portsmouth 34 9 Blackburn 33 11 Newcastle 26 Given the stability of the other two clubs does the league places really make either Redknapp or Hughes much more of an improvement?
  21. Hes just been on SSN saying its between Hughes and Redknapp. So much for his own story about a top manager
  22. you reckon he's got the 'world class manager' lined up that happy face is prediciting then? if he has, fair play to him and i'll admit i'm wrong. i'm suprised no one else shares my conceren tbh. what top manager is going to fancy a job that's average term over the past decade has been just over a year? To be fair Spurs have had (more or less) as much of a turnover of managers as us over the last 11 years or so and still managed to attract Ramos
  23. if you're right, then i would have to agree. but we'll have to wait to see who he does have lined up - my concern is that he has gone down the same route as shepherd and pandered to the frenzy that's been whipped up without lining up a top quality replacement. like, i said though, i'll be happy to eart my words if i'm wrong and a top mananager is on his way. And then find find something else to moan about....
