I think the ruling is you are not allowed to be in view of the pitch if you are drinking alcohol, ie if you are in a corporate box they make you draw the curtain if you order a beer.

Thats the case for domestic games but for UEFA games there is no drink sold at all in normal parts of the ground.

Haven't got a clue, stupid rule.

 

It is the reason I sat in Platinum Club for our games in the inter-toto, knew there would be no atmosphere anyway so went in there so I could have a few pints.

I'm really not that arsed about drinking at the ground. Get to my seat just as it's about to kick off, and assuming you don't leave your seat before the whistle goes for half time, you've got a 10-15 minute queue for a pint you pretty much have to neck to get back to your seat for the match. What's the point?
