Can anyone tell me the me words to the Newcastle song which was sung to the old tune "the 12 days of Christmas" It was brilliant and I think it was about the old fairs cup winning team.

A long shot but I hope someone can remember it (or even have a clue about what I am going on about).

Its come back to me

John Macnamee

four was Tommy Gibb

Three Frank Clark

Two David Craig

And MacFaul was the goa--olie

I'm a tad younger than you Bob but that sent a huge shiver down my spine - childhood memories of being allowed to go in the Leazes ;)

I am asuming then the rest of the song would be the 12 players from the game?

The only bit I remember is John McNamee to the five gold rings line, it was a brilliant song though.

I consider this a much more worthy quest than the Lindisfarne Gospel btw, I would like to see the full version if you find it

I have hunted around t'internet and can't find it anywhwere so this was a bit of a long shot but at least some of the words have been remembered ;) Thanks lads

(Bring the Lindisfarne Gospels home ;) )
