Great place to be in Germany and for a quick change of scene only 1 1/2 by train from Berlin. Why Hamburg? Because when we were in Germany last year it was just one of those places that struck a cord and we really loved the place. I have an opportunity next year to produce a documentary based out of Germany (no funding though as it is a joint project with a friend who has MS) but the opportunity is to good to pass up, so we, the lass and I decided to base ourselves in Hamburg. Should be interesting for us to dumb 'stralians who have never experienced a winter (with the exception of ski/boarding) with an average temperature lower than 9C!
