Just done an interesting piece of work showing that:

75% of 1 day sick absenses took place on a Monday or a Friday

71% of 2 day sick absenses began on a Thursday

68% of 3 day sick absenses began on a Wednesday

Long weekend syndrome is alive and well in the DWP!

And as an aside, 100% of Wacky's sick leave was proven bullshit.

In the defence of DWP staff, Monday and Friday would include 1 day, 2 day, 3 day and/or 4 day absences though. Added to that chances are statistically higher that you will fall ill between Friday and Monday than between Tuesday and Thursday (4/7 as opposed to 3/7).

Course they're all on the skive though.

NHS Mental Health Workers must have the highest rate of sick days than anyone. Theres a couple of blokes i work with who rarely go a fortnight without a sick day. And thats no exaggeration.

Lad I work with must have a sick day/s every month. He had to start using his holiday in the end.

Maybe he was allergic to the Colonel's secret ingredients. Or just got sick of salting the fries?
