There's a lot of people read these forums as peasepud has mentioned many times from all sorts of sources, and I wouldn't want them getting the wrong impression, that we talk like mackems.

So, how important is this north/south of the river Tyne thing? I mean, Gateshead is south of the Tyne and people from there (Gazza etc) seem to be considered "real Geordies". The Gateshead Games are even mentioned in Blaydon Races :nufc:

I think at a push Heworth metro is the boundary.
