If the universe is infinite...

....then all possible realities must exist at all times, right here right now.

Or is it really complicated? <_<

Never thought I'd be in the reality where Ameobi gets a standing ovation in St James' Park again.

If it's infinite, how come it's expanding?

It's re-colonising the space from its last expansion. <_<

So it isn't infinite then?

It is and it isn't.

It is moving into the future (time +expansion) as it receeds (-time - retraction).

The question you're asking is the same one I was thinking about when starting the thread.

It's a tough one for us to imaging cause to us space and time are very concrete, but in universal time they are really only ghosts. :D

Say there is a message on your ansaphone that you haven't answered yet. Is that message in the future or is it from the past? :D

I never answer them anyway <_<

Infinite is not the same as all-encompassing. Imagine a cube. Now take off the top and bottom. Imagine the space in the cube expanding infinitely upwards and downwards. This is infinite without encompassing the areas to the north, south, east and west of the cube.

Good analogy. I like that.

It's not a cube then though. <_<

TBF a straight line would have sufficed. The whole cube thing has confused Fop.

Are you saying it is a cube? :D

Why would the universe expand in two directions only if that is what you're saying?
