Andrew correctly termed the scorers of the first goal Athletico..or dont they like being called Athletico?....

Called em Athletic, getting me excited for a few seconds before I turned on the game :(

He did in his post but its different when you quoted him...am now confused but never mind.

Athletico were founded by Basque students too....

Meanwhile, sons of the Basque educated classes had made the opposite journey and went to Britain to complete their studies in civil engineering and commerce. While in the United Kingdom these students developed an interest in football and on their return to Bilbao they began to arrange games with British workers. In 1898 students belonging to the Gymnasium Zamacois founded the Athletic Club, using the English spelling. In 1901 a meeting was held in the Cafe Garcia which established more formal rules and regulations. In 1902 the two Bilbao clubs formed a combined team, known as Bizcaya, in the first Copa del Rey. They returned with the trophy after defeating FC Barcelona in the final. This would lead to the eventual merger of the two clubs as Athletic Club in 1903. In the same year Basque students also formed Athletic Club Madrid. This club later evolved into Atlético Madrid. The club's foundation date is a subject of debate among football historians. The club itself declares 1898, but others claim 1901 or 1903 as the true founding year.

After being down 3-0 on aggregate, Birmingham need an extra goal in the last 5 minutes of stoppage time to send it to extra time. Come on Chrissy Hughton!

Falcao is awesome. He'll get a move to a big club this summer I reckon. Barca beckons.

Unfortunately I think West Ham will beat them. In their two games against each other this season, West Ham won them 4-0 and 4-1. Birmingham on the other hand drew 3-3 and 1-1 with West Ham. But anything can happen in the final!

Brilliant, he'll do well for them. He's the perfect manager for that type of club, and I'll be happy to see Chris back in the Premier League

Yeah, Athletic is Bilbao and Athletico is Madrid. Madrid pretty much copied the name but put an O on the end and call Athletico Athletic around Euskadi and they wouldnt be happy. Don't think the Madrid fans give a shit mind.

Channel 5 hardly helped matters by displaying the score as "ATH 0-0 ATL".

Or was it the other way around?!

Toquero came on last night to a load of whistles and the commentator once again came out with 'he's a cult hero, they love him'. :D Truly dreadful commentary team of him and Collymore. Oi fink yow should be qwoiet Oolrika, I'm angroi an I'm gowing to tayk it owt on yow.

Toquero was utterly hopeless in all their Europa games, like a spanish Shola.

Muniain looks like a very handy player though.

Sad to see Chrissy Hughton lose out last night but if he's off to WBA I s'pose we can be pleased Brum are staying down (although we have had a habit of beating them in the last couple of year). Would much rather see Blackpool back up next season but if West 'Ammmm do make it, I'll be more than happy to give Kevin Nolan a standing ovation at St. James'

Quality 2nd goal from Huddersfield, hope they win this. MK Franchise are a despicable club.

Dortmund (Kagawa inparticularly) are brilliant here, it's 4-1 now vs Bayern in the cup final. Doesn't bode well for the CL final, like!

Think them playing in the Champs league final might have something to say about this game?

It's a cup final, shouldn't matter! Finished 5-2 to Dortmund.

Coquelin and Jenkinson both starting for Arsenal. Didn't they get beat 8-2 last time that happened?

Santos and Gervinho playing too. Trying not to get my hopes up here!

Bale starting at left back for Spurs too.
