“There is nothing in fact and there will be nothing done. There is no question he leaves now.” ”I did not want to pay huge taxes this year, because the budget comes to an end on June 30.”

“I prefer it to be from July 1. Here, if there are good deals, it will enable us to have a financially good next season.”

Isn't the tax in question based on footballers' wages rather than profits?

Though if his aim is to defer the transfer in order to minimise profits in this financial years then it's kind of understandable.

Ah, so it is the seasonal business thing. Ta. :good:

It's the same in the UK, business pay their corporation tax based on their financial period of accounting. The April-April tax year is only for personal tax.

Speaking of which, is there any real reason we hang on to the April-April convention? It seems odd.

Iirc its an anomaly that dates back to the dawn of income tax. Changing to a sensible date is avoided due to the hassle involved for taxpayers employers and hmrc

Changing the financial year to the actual gregorian calendar year probably wouldn't be very convenient. April makes sense, not a lot of any note happens in the three months prior.

So is the consensus on the board that nobody will be signed this window but certain individuals seem to be getting lined up as replacements for Cabaye & Remy in the summer ?

No doubt we are holding off a couple of bids for Shola - we'll obviously sell him after he helps Nigeria win the WC.

Be interesting if he got him who would make way, Sissoko or Gouffran? (Assuming we stick to 433).

Temptation would probably be to drop Anita and move Sissoko back which would be a shame as I think we look better with Anita in there.

He'd probably play backup/plan B to Remy, till the summer anyway. Cant see us switching to 442 or dropping either of Gouffran or Sissoko in their current form.

Monroe Transfer

Beat PSG tonight in the cup. Cabella MOTM.

Really hope we sign him, and then never have to deal with that club again.

You kidding? I hope that they continue to field good players that we pinch for less than their value because, Fuck 'Em.
