Pattison called up by South Africa

World Cup 2010 hosts South Africa have handed Newcastle United midfielder Matty Pattison a first squad call-up for a friendly against Egypt in London next month.

 

Pattison, born in Johannesburg but who left for Britain while still a child, made his Newcastle debut at the end of last season.

 

The Belgian-based pair of Jeffrey Ntuka and Elrio van Heerden, former captain Sibusiso Zuma and the French-based striker Katlego Mphela have been recalled.

 

The Nov.15 match has been scheduled for Brentford's Griffin Park.
