I don’t think anyone wanted him to stay. I think it’s more the fact we’ve sold him to Liverpool (who have instigated this) and we don’t have a replacement in.

It’s not though. Wissa is valuable to them staying in the PL and they have decided he is under contract and will stay to achieve this. Whether it works out is another matter.

And we’ve also let him go without a player through the door. We’ve basically caved on all of our criteria.

A loan is looking likely now. To source a new target, agree fee & structure of a deal and get a medical done in ~12 hours is pretty ambitious.

CN saying Wissa and JSL unlikely so fuck knows where we are going to get anyone in 13 hours.

I was looking forward to transfer deadline day. I thought we’d let him go but didn’t think it would be for that money or before we’ve got a striker in the door. I can’t believe we’ve blinked first.
