  1. I do listen to the radio at times, but when I come to a part I would like concentrate on, I cant have music / 5Live on. I need to make some phone calls but the radio is on the desk next to mine and so can't as it's too loud! I just complained and said at least switch it over to a better station and got told no by the boss!!!! Fucking joke!
  2. Put my headphones in and had Foo Fighters blasting out but had to have it on so loud to drown out Robbie Williams it was hurting my ears
  3. Smash it to bits and then get your cock out and wank on one of their desks Already been warned about that unfortunately
  4. I work with a load of middle aged women who love nothing more than putting the radio on and worst of all on Metro FM!!! Really winds me up as I have to sit there and listen to shite music which then makes me find it hard to concentrate on my work / skiving. Tomorrow I'm going to bring in a screwdriver and remove the fuse when they are all out of the room... that should put a stop to it!
  5. Went to a shop in that bit of Eldon square just next too John Lewis (not sure what it's called is it Eldon Gardens?), and they have an art shop up there with loads of paintings etc but also photos... it's like a shop / gallery and some cool pics in there. You should print a few of your best landscape one's off and take them up to see if they'd sell them... I reckon you've defo got a few that people would pay good money for
  6. All good but top 2 really are excellent!
  7. Lovely pics... this one I really like as it looks like you've taken it half way up everest!
  8. A country built on debt - Nearly every major economy is built on debt. Had we not used debt then we would've been lagging behind every other country in the last fifteen years as far as GDP is concerned. A country who would rather pay people not to work than work - Simply not true. A benefits system that allows people not to pay tax but still use all public services - People on benefits should be allowed to use street lighting? The NHS? The education system? 3 very good reasons why we are in a recession, so yes people on benefits is one of the reasons we are in a recession. the only reason? no, but it certainly contributes Firstly, we're not in a recession. But we will be if we slash benefits. Consumer spending would fall sharply. An economy built on giving people more debt than they can ever hope to pay off isn't a stable economy. Sensible lending would avoid the whole boom and bust scenario. Those who can't afford to borrow shouldn't be allowed any debt, those who can should be allowed an amount that is payable. I dont believe as a country we have taken great steps forward by allowing people to rack up so much debt they are either declaring themselves bankrupt or using debt management companies to pay off tiny amounts and having the rest wiped out. Benefits are far too easy to come by in this country, too many people can choose not to work and live off the tax payer. they dont contribute to the public sectors they use, they dont contribute to society and they breed a level of lazyness that is passed on to their multiple offspring. Working class isn't a real class any more as what would have been working class is now a sub class of this called non working class. The issue isn't whether people on benefits should be allowed to use public services/utilities... the issue is how many are allowed to just sit on their arses and claim benefits, use public services and not put a single penny back in to the system that they abuse. More people working = more tax = more money to be spent on public services. Instead we have people not working, claiming benefits and then using the public services they pay nothing in to, thus stretching the system to breaking point.

  10. True but sadly there a sooo many people out there who live their lives this way... they think it's fine to get in to debt, get in to more debt, buy things they can't afford and then just delare themselves bankrupt. Really boils my blood! I actually admire here for saving up £500 from her benefits... but why does she then have to spend nearly 3k she doesn't have? fucking cretinous people like this are a why the country is so fucked and the rest of us suffer as a result.
  11. Not sure how this ended up in here as definately posted it in the general forum?
  12. ON the Christmas list for her three young sons Siobhan Cady has an Xbox 360, a Wii, games for these consoles, a flat-screen telly, laptop and designer clothes. Reading it you would think the 23-year-old has a stash of cash to be able to afford the £3,200 she will need for the extravagant presents. But the stay-at-home single mum has not earned a penny of it. She will be using her benefits and thinks she has the same rights to have a good Christmas as those who go out to work. Siobhan, whose sons are between five years and seven months old, says: "I won't have my kids going without or getting bullied because they don't get what the other children get at Christmas." Siobhan does not pay council tax or rent for her two-bedroom house in Truro, Cornwall, and receives Jobseeker's Allowance and child benefit. She feels she should not be criticised as she has saved her benefits specifically for Christmas. Siobhan says: "I am sick and tired of people with jobs moaning because I am on benefits. "My family and I deserve it, I am a fantastic mum. I choose to spend time with my children and be a stay-at-home mum. I don't want to leave them with strangers and benefits means I can do this. I've saved for months to give them what they want this Christmas. "Being on benefits doesn't mean I'm thick or lazy — I take the option because it is there. I am not lazy and I don't sit around doing nothing. I work 24/7 as a mother." Siobhan admits she is not what most people consider a stereotypical benefits mother. She says: "I was a great student at school and had big dreams. I got three As and two Bs in my GCSEs and went on to get an NVQ in childcare with the aim to set up my own business. "I had big plans for my career but I accidentally fell pregnant and motherhood became my life. "At first I didn't want to go on benefits and did everything I could to avoid them because I was too proud. But there is no work here and now nearly all my friends are in council housing and on benefits. "I even see wealthy people in expensive cars at the DSS collecting their benefits — there are no jobs for them either." Siobhan had her first son, Reece, five, when she was 18. She went on to have Kai, three, and Finley, seven months. Siobhan has split from the boys' father because they no longer get on. She says: "I am a dedicated mother. That's my job and I am raising three lovely boys — which means being here every hour of the day for them. "Receiving benefit allows me to do a brilliant job at being a mum, so why shouldn't I use it? "Obviously I want to get a bigger house, because having three boys sleeping in one room is really difficult. But the council don't think I am a priority. "This is why I have saved my benefits to make Christmas so special for my boys." Last year, Siobhan spent £2,000 at Christmas — £500 on each of her two sons, £400 on herself and the rest on her family and parties. She says: "The kids got toys, designer clothes, Nintendo DS handheld games and DVDs. I got myself a designer outfit and shoes and the rest went on food and parties. "I saved a little and borrowed £1,500 on credit. I still owe £1,100 of what I borrowed but it doesn't matter. If I had a job or not, I'd still be in debt. "I plan to do the same this year. I have been saving some of my benefits — around £10 to £20 a week — for months and will pay for the rest on credit. "There are people on benefits going bankrupt, which says a lot. Larger housing needs to be provided, especially for people like me." This year Siobhan has saved £500 for Christmas and will raise the rest by using high interest loans and credit cards, as well as some money lent to her by a relative. And she's not alone — 33 per cent of Brits will cover the entire cost of Christmas on credit cards. Siobhan says: "As long as I pay the minimum monthly payments on my credit cards, I am able to get more loans and cards. I also get money from local loan sharks, but they have higher interest." Siobhan, who is given £359.10 a week by the Government — including money for her council tax and rent — has worked out that she would be £227 a week worse off if she worked and had to pay her own bills. Stocking up ... Siobhan will fork out on gifts for her sons She says: "If I got a job, it would only be on minimum wage and I would have to pay rent, bills and childcare. It would be a stupid thing to do. "Why on earth would I want to work 40 hours a week, never see my boys and earn no money when I can pick up benefits every week and be a full-time mum?" Siobhan's sons have all written their Christmas lists and the single mum admits she can never say "no". She adds: "They tell me their mates at school have new trainers or the latest Xbox and Nintendo, so I want them to have that as well. It's only fair. tagDart.wo({url:'http://ad.uk.doubleclick.net/adj/woman.thesun.co.uk/mainhomepage;pos=mpu;sz=300x250;cat=;tile=2;ord=1323172796814;'}); "If they don't have all the newest, coolest things, they will be a target for bullies. It would break my heart to know that they were getting picked on for going without. "Luckily, picking up benefits means they don't have to. The rest of the world is doing it and if I can't pay it back, I'll simply do a Kerry Katona and go bankrupt. "I read about one girl going bankrupt twice before she was 30 recently and as I'm on benefits I know I'll never lose my house. "I live in one of the poorest counties in England. There is no work and even if I did have a job it would be minimum wage and I couldn't afford childcare. "Being on benefits means I can buy what I want and be with my sons all day. "It's the best of both worlds and will mean we will have a very happy Christmas." http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/woman/3979976/Im-spending-3200-on-Christmas-its-paid-for-by-my-benefits.html
  13. Only listened to it a couple of times but "Blood Pressures" by The Kills is a really good album from this year. Never bothered with them until the other day but there's a few excellent songs on there Satellite being one such example
  14. Yeah something soft would be good... probs needs to be white as thats the original colour and putting a different colour in even if i've removed the old background wouldn't work too well (I tried it with black and the results looked like I'd switched the background). I like the idea of faint feathers though, a soft and light coloured texture would work well
  15. Over 5000 complaints to the BBC about a daft tongue in cheek comment?! I honestly dispair about this country sometimes! Do people really have nothing better to do than ring the Beeb and complain about something that quite clearly wasn't meant to be taken seriously?! Despite being a public sector worker I agree that the strikes were a joke anyway, the amount of people who actually picketed outside my work (which employes 1000 people) were a massive 10!!! The rest went xmas shopping!!!!!
  16. Fucking hell this place is full of house wives or something. Are you all pre menstral? Why should he be sacked? Because he made a joke in bad taste... one which despite being a public sector worker made me laugh. Honestly get over yourselves!
  17. I love Clarkson... Far too many touchy people on here!
  18. Ahh ok I see what you mean... not sure whether these would be suitable for the child pics but I get where you're coming from
  19. It's not something I've tried before tbh... how would I go about it?
  20. Cheers mate, not given them to the people yet as still debating on making a couple of extra changes... although I think its getting to the stage of diminishing returns so not sure it's really going to make much difference. Yeah backgrounds are a problem... I have to remove them and they end up too bright then as they are just pure white. I've experimented with off white etc but that looks too gray. The problem is that I know how to keep the background in, but to do so I'd have to blast it with 2 extra flashes and position the subject further away from the baxkdrop to avoid the light spillage. Unfortunately I neither have the extra flashes nor the room to move people further away from the backdrop
  21. Did another home studio shoot at the weekend, but got my lighting set up a bit wrong and had the lights too high, so over exposed upper half of heads and lots of shadowing elsewhere. Not my best work by a long way, but lots of photoshopping just about saved the day (so glad I know how to use the dodge tool!!!). Compared to last weeks shoot these are pretty substandard IMO but you live and learn, and I now know the limitations of my setup and what to do to avoid the problem next time:
  22. I always seem to get in to albums a few years after they were released... so my picks of this year would be: Manchester Orchestra - Mean Everything to Nothing The National - High Violet Biffy Clyro - Puzzle Not a single one from 2011
  23. Aye i'll let you know mate, skint at the minute anyway but am thinking of getting some of my photo shoot pics done at some point. Also might start offering them to customers... Would your bro be interested in offering a good rate to me if I helped promote him to my customers? I.e. make sure they know where the canvas came from, talk about how good they are on twitter etc?
