Yep, everything I've posted on here I took with one of these: http://www.dpreview....s/panasonictz5/ They're a bit better than a standard point-and-click but they don't give full control. I obviously use a tripod for the low light ones, and give my pics a bit more pop with lightroom, but other than that, it just learning to get the best out of a compact. Looks like a nice camera but like you say you'll always be limited by its functions... but just shows it's not all about equipment and if you have a good eye for a photograph you can sometimes achieve better results than someone with better kit. Have you not considered upgrading to a DSLR? I think it'd be a good move and something you'd enjoy

You took them with a compact? hats off to you mate they look DSLR standard and so I'd say you've done extremely well to capture such good pics. As for the laptop screen I had the same problem for a while, I ended up investing in a £250 screen as I realised that laptops aren't really the best thing to edit pics on but obviously thats a pretty major outlay and not for everyone.

Nice shot, I like the fact the sky isnt completely black and the reflections are very nice! Slopes ever so slightly to the right again tho ;-)

Nice pic... is this high force? Do you own any ND filters? I got a 4 stopper for xmas and might head down somewhere like this to try it out and blur the water. Could be my monitor again but the water in the foreground seems a tad underexposed

Great pic again, lovely capture of the sun breaking through the hole in the clouds. Think the whole thing leans half a degree or so to the right again though (if you look at the water especially towards the horizon)

I like the angle you've shot this from and the daffodils (spelling?) add some nice colour... not sure but it might be a taf under exposed but could just be my crappy monitor at work

Nice pic of the castle there... I love Durham but haven't tried to photgraph it due to harldy ever going there, I need to get over more as it's such a lovely city. Only slight thing I can fault with this pic is the castle and house seem to lean to the right and it throws the whole thing off a little.

Blur had great singles but I always found the albums to be sub par compared to Oasis' As a teenager I actually preferred Blur (1st gig I ever went to) but it was much more about singles back then... If I was going to sit and listen to an album I'd always put Definately Maybe or Whats the Story Morning Glory on over a Blur album any day of the week. When you then look at the singles Oasis had on top of a couple of really outstanding albums then Blur weren't as good despite still being an excellent band IMO

Tbh it was more that it was disrupting my internet reading than anything else, but was more the principle that I have to listen to shit music when I dont want to, yet they would go mental if I stuck mine on.

Put my headphones in and had Foo Fighters blasting out but had to have it on so loud to drown out Robbie Williams it was hurting my ears noise cancelling earphones my man Aye might be the way forward! Someone's actually turned it down now as I made a few phone calls and they must have taken the hint. I can handle it being on quietly but when it's on loud it winds me up something rotton!

I do listen to the radio at times, but when I come to a part I would like concentrate on, I cant have music / 5Live on. I need to make some phone calls but the radio is on the desk next to mine and so can't as it's too loud! I just complained and said at least switch it over to a better station and got told no by the boss!!!! Fucking joke!
