Now I'm going to plant a horrible seed of doubt, what if it's crashed...
-
Yep, there we go, under Latest News. http://www.theonion.com/content/ Great read, I've just bookmarked it again, had forgotten about it somewhere along the way.
-
I think it's a joke Mags, I'll go check the onion. You're right either way!
-
Cheers Barney. Just listening to that Owen when questioned about Shearer's influence says: "It will be a great honour to play for...play with him in his final season" This is how rumours get started!
-
The onion?

Again - true though wasnt it? A bit like Andy Gray's "Game well and truly over" after Milan's 3rd... These things happen in football. I'm not bitter about it and Newcastle fans shouldn't be whatever the opposite of bitter is 25026 At the end of the day, we're taking a lot of flak from the media and liverpool fans for signing a world class british striker at a reasonable price. You are one of the few putting your opinion across without malice (there's a few professional institutions on Fleet Street could do with your professionalism). All people are saying is it's a bit of a disgrace that people can't be a little more courteous - it's embarrassing tbh. Oh and that word would be smug.
-
Yes, of course we have, but as that money hasn't been recieved, it does make it easier though. 24768 How? 24774 From a cash flow point of view it does make things a bit easier. 24777 That's exactly it. 25002 I'm surprised to hear someone seriously saying that cash flow concerns, at least as they're being suggested here, would play a major part in a 16m deal, I thought Gem was taking the Michael.
-
You asked to be taken seriously, I took you seriously. I've tried to explain something to you using examples that are easy in my world, but not in yours. That's why I asked if you were self employed. If you'd been honest I would have used a different example. I notice you're more interested in slagging the shite out of people on another thread than explaining yourself here. So you've been taken seriously and you've acted exactly the same. Enjoy your charade.

I still don't have an answer as to why you don't offset the cost recouped by Jenas against the price you paid for Owen. 24967 Care to explain your basic accounting blunder to me first Mr. Branson? I was in the midst of explaining it to you.
-
I want him to employ me tbh, I'll just start selling off company assets for beer. No, no boss that company car wasn't real until I converted it to liquid assets. What's that? Beeeer.
-
No. So Owen "cost" £16m. What do you think happens to the £8m for Jenas? 24855 You don't include assets on your balance sheet? What manner of balance sheet is this? You're not even self-employed are you? 24859 The funny thing is he's actually taken the time to google for a balance sheet and probably got all mixed up with the language. I am pissing myself. Are we even old enough to drive AF? Really?
-
You include assets on the balance sheet do you?

Yes, of course we have, but as that money hasn't been recieved, it does make it easier though. 24768 How? 24774 We bought Woodgate for £9m and sold him for £14m: £5m profit. We bought Jenas for £5m and sold him for £8m: £3m profit. It's not like we're £16m worse off. 24779 No, you see that's exactly what we are. We ultimately paid 16 million for the player, don't confuse the issue with where the cash is resting or what form it's currently in. 24809 I see, so if you buy a new car for £5000, then sell your old one for £2000, you are still down by £5000!? 24830 How much did the car cost? 24835 To you £3000. You already owned an asset worth £2000. 24838 You said you're self employed - can I just ask if you do your own accounts?

I have to say I think alex is right here. Normally when you talk about tactics with football managers you mean on the pitch. It's to do with the context you see. If I started going on about tactics in the context of Rommel and Montgomery you'd be very unlikely to think I was referring to the football tactics of the yearly officer's 5-a-side now would you?

I thought you didn't like management speak, David?

I can't understand that logic - that money was money owed and therefore Newcastle's money. If Fat Fred hasn't enough money in his wallet for all those pies and has to quickly run around to the ATM to withdraw a bit more cash - did he only spend the money in his wallet?
-
Ah he's edited it, cheers Pricey. It had said: Thank fcuk for that. Solano - YES....
-
I got that, but it reads like we've signed Solano - don't you think?
-
No - we haven't got Claus Lundekvam is the story - might want to edit your post mate - getting people's hopes up!
-
Are you posting a link to it Sima?

Hmm... anyone else think that this proposed deal makes it look like O'Dreary believes he could be taking over the reigns here? O'Leary: Now if I let them take Nobby back for the peanuts I payed for him and only borrow Milner for the season then I get both players when I take over from Sourpuss. Mwahahahaha!! 24620 You've made the classic blunder, confusing David O'Leary with Dr Evil.
