What I DO like about this years version of the team is its ability to create many many chances.
-
The fact that Arsenal's bid for Cabaye before the game "unsettled" him is, to me, insane. Are you serious? He couldn't play? This whole club is fraught with prima donnas and robber barons.
-
it's one thing to be outclassed, it's another thing to leave any doubt about your classlessness.
It's official, Tiote is no longer a holding/defensive midfielder. He may be something else but defensive, no.
What is different about this team, NUFC Board of Directors (yes, including the lot you brought in in January), than the one that barely survived relegation? Nothing. More Sissoko's please. Better Defenders please. Better play makers please. Better strikers please.
Haha...what a dreamer I am.
-
I've looked and looked but have yet to find any video combining NUFC and The Animals. I would love it, absolutely love it, if someone made a video of St. James' Park and football highlights with the song "House of The Rising Sun" in the background. Two great things that came out of Newcastle.

Why does the idea of just a one year loan for Remy want to make me puke just a little.
I would have felt better identifying a young stud and signing him to a proper contract instead.
Like Dan Gosling?
No smartass. I don't ever recall Gosling described as a young CF stud.

1 down to whatever the other team's name is.
Yeah we don't need defensive help. Pfft...we just need a striker.

Frick all y'all naysayers! We signed Midfielder Olivier Kemen from Metz! Put THAT in yer pipe and smoke it!

Whose career has not been enhanced at Newcastle over the last 2 years?
Okay, but surely you're not suggesting Pardew has some magical affect on players? I would say two seasons ago Ba and Cisse and that's it. Tiote had his best season under CH and we all saw Ben Arfa's brilliance before Pardew got here. Ba scored for fun for two halves of a season, but he scored everywhere he's been. Same with Cisse - same type of player for us as he's been for his other clubs even though we think he is a revelation. Then who? Anita? The dime-a-dozen mf? Please.
Colo? I think last season was his worst ever. I think Cabeye also has had his career enhanced, yes.
Anyway, this post was written more out of frustration than anything else. I, like all of you, just want our club to succeed.

All "major sports" in North America have the benefit of instant replay for crucial decisions to get things right and no one is complaining, in fact, we want more of it.
Also, as far as North Americans are concerned when looking at footy referees and rules, they have to make some of the harshest decisions in all of sports. Red card. Penalty. What other sport would let one team play all or some of the game a man down or two down? Harsh. Too much for humans to judge fairly week in week out if you ask me.
-
Also looking foward to seeing more of Anita, there's definetely a player in there somewhere!
For the club's sake I do hope you're right. I've watched almost every game this season and I just don't see what you are seeing in Anita. So far, midfielders like him are a dime a dozen. You can find many like him all over the world.

Well that's fucking that. Fuck off Pardew, fuck off Llambias, fuck off Ashley.
-
I think it was CT last week who posted something about staying away from Pardew and staying on the pitch at the half. He was right I'm afraid.
-
How on earth would we have any chances in and around the box without HBA? We don't play any clever little one-two's or triangles up the middle and never have the past few years. I'd be looking for clever midfielders during the summer transfer season. Along with a quality striker and defender. Oh I'm in la la land, aren't I?
-
Sunny and 14 degrees according to my phone.
What does twitter say?
-
And, another reason Rooney won't come here is because he doesn't want groin & hamstring problems.
-
April 1st is it? Fuck off Ashley you're not that ambitious about OUR club!
-
No way are Wigan beating Arsenal.
They don't have to if they beat Villa and we lose to QPR and Arsenal.
-
One of the games to keep an eye on Saturday is the Chelsea vs Villa game. If Chelsea win and we beat QPR we clinch survival.
-
Yeah, as it stands now.
Not sure why you and others are so certain we're down. It really isn't a foregone conclusion and it won't be even if Sunderland and WIgan win their games in hand.
Beating QPR is essential regardless though, that much is true. I reckon Wigan will get a win, a draw, and a loss from their 3 games. So one win for us will be enough.
Not sure if this was directed at me, but I never said we are certain to go down. I am suggesting that it is viirtually out of our hands as it stands now, today. Let's just hope that we take care of our business and the fuck!n mackems lose tomorrow as well as wigan and a few other teams that are in this battle.
-
That's not really true though, since some of the teams in the relegation battle have to play each other. Sunderland v Stoke, Sunderland v Southampton, Southampton v Stoke, Wigan v Aston Villa.
EDIT: Or what Andrew said.
Well, there is only one team between us and Wigan, if there were more teams between us and Wigan we would have more control. AND, all teams in the battle have a better goal differential as it stands now.,
-
I am sickened by the fact that, as it stands now, it is totally OUT of our hands. Even if we win the rest of our games and the other teams in the relegation battle win theirs, we go down by goal differential.
Well done Pardew and management from the begining of the season till now for thinking we could go through the entire season (Carling Cup, FA Cup, Europa and League) with a poor thin squad. Well done, well done.

As we Canadians say:
OOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTT! OOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTT!!!
-
Like Gary Neville says, we are about to lose our identity (or change into a new french one), and thats why he thinks our club are hurting. Should we just fuck it, sell our most ambitious of frenchman and give the club time in the lower leagues to get players like Shane Ferguson and Sammy Ameobi to play like Wilshere and Phil Jones? (very very ironic this)
Heck NO! We should build a new CANADIAN team. Just think of all the possibilities.

Many many many chances.
