I thought it was absolute genius to leave our best player out of the game until almost the 80th minute. Pardew wants to make sure he keeps him fresh for the last game of the season, which could be the most important game of the season.
And now there is only two teams between us and relegation. Brilliant.

It's not all Pardew's fault, of course, but I can't get my head over a team with the (on paper) quality of ours looking so inept and clueless in the final third (save for a couple of Cisse chances and the 'offside' goal).
When have we been ever good in the final third? Last season? I'm going to tell you what last season was in a nutshell. Demba Ba the first half of the season, then Cisse and HBA in the second half of the season. That is it!
Our only play in the final third is over the top to Cisse. We have never, under Pardew, played nice little one-two's or nice triangles in and around the box. Never. I dare anyone here to say otherwise.

I really don't think it's been that bad. I thought our possession has been good, but could be used better. Simpson is crap - enough said. Shits himself when he gets the ball in their half. But we've been good at the back, closed players down all over the pitch. We'll get the result. Mon th Toon!

Cabaye has looked more comfortable. Just winging the ball out wide at will. Not seem him doing it like this for a while.
Granted he's good at it, but the guy has NO motor! Don't expect him to bust a gut going forward or back. Sorry, it has to be said.

Whatever you think of his managerial abilities or lack thereof, which I'm in the not so great camp, I just think he's an idiot plain and simple. He thinks he is great at mind games and most times I wish he would just keep his mouth shut. He is terrible at it. Other clubs don't need further incentive to play well against us, but Pardew seems to think otherwise. Just read all the nonsense he said prior to the Benfica game for proof.

Can NUFC support a 75-85k seat stadium? As a Canadian fan I would think definitely yes easily. But I don't really know the demographics of the area so I would like to know.
It's sort of like my favorite college team - Syracuse University. They can pack 30 - 35k for a damn BASKETBALL game and currently have a 50k seat on-campus dome stadium for both basketball and football. They have a wide North American fan base, but I don't think the Syracuse area would be able to fill an 80k seat stadium. You guys get what I'm saying? So, could Newcastle upon Tyne support a significant expansion to St. James` Park?

Thank bloody goodness for that! Nervy affair at times but the team always seemed to have the belief to go on and win it.
Tiote showed signs of coming back to his best. Debuchy probably had his best game for us so far.

Agreed about Debuchy. He hasn't been fireworks offensively yet, but if you've noticed, he has been pure class defensively. Knows how to play his position and doesn't run around like a headless chicken.

I didn't want him gone in favor of Pardew in the first place. Perhaps some other manager but NOT Pardew.
