The Beeb again. Today's headline reads: House prices 'to recover slowly'. But then the first paragraph reads: "House prices in England will fall this year and next before recovering, the National Housing Federation forecasts." So not so much a slow recovery as... a continued and protracted slump for at least the next 18 months, then? I'd seriously love to know what the BBC's vested interest is in making things seem rosier than they actually are.

The nearest thing I've seen to a "joke" so far is a b3ta image of a young Bobby in his playing days preparing to take a corner, but doctored so that he's kicking a bucket rather than a ball. I won't post it here, partly out of respect and partly because it's not really all that funny, but in a strange way it says a lot that even the traditional sick humour bastions of the internet haven't come up with anything "better".

I realise many of you are stuck at work until whenever you can get away, but I'm raising a glass now and to hell with the consequences, and I'm sure you'll do the same later on. Bobby himself was such a selfless man that he wouldn't have wanted people to dwell on the sad side of his passing, so let's celebrate a life incredibly well lived and give him a hell of a send-off.

Still in shock, condolences to his family. If it's an annual thing, there's no reason it can't rotate between four of the teams he was involved with each year. Keeps it fresh too.

The upper tiers were shut but I got the impression there were a reasonable number of empty seats dotted about in the lower levels. Might just be people who bought and didn't show up though. I was in the posh seats on Sunday because the council had some visitors over from Gelsenkirchen (one of our many twin towns) and they needed someone to interpret for them as and when. Anyway, Sir Bobby wasn't far from us during the match, and even in his frail state he spent more time chatting away to people as they came up to him than he did actually watching the game. People kept bringing their kids up to him and he'd spend a few moments ruffling their hair and having a natter and a play around with them. The Germans were amazed, they knew he was a popular figure (and had some lovely words to say about him themselves) but I don't think they realised just quite how much reverence there was for him. Harper was the only current player I spotted around the place all day, for what it's worth - he had his lad with him.

RIP Sir Bobby. He did amazingly well to battle cancer the way he did, and with a smile on his face right to the end. The word "legend" is overused but we all know it couldn't be more apt in his case.

Another streaker? There was one during the Sir Bobby match too. Let me guess, we're cutting back on security costs?

Not sure he'd do much of a job for Ferrari.

I always think Rosset was Swiss too. I blame Marc Rosset, the Olympian tennis player. Thinking back to my glory years as a racing nerd, I think Gregor Foitek was Swiss, but calling him an F1 driver might be pushing it a bit...
