Billionaire Ashley £378m richer
Monroe Transfer replied to Dr Kenneth Noisewater's topic in Newcastle Forum
Does he not own a property in the N-E? Or does he just rely on his helicopter to fly him up and down the country when we've got a match on? -

Andy Carroll....Local Hero! O̶r̶ ̶J̶u̶d̶a̶s̶?

"allegedly"!? You're sounding like a Shepherd apologist. "They said the object was to finish tenth or higher, which when you remove the trademark ambiguity translates as 'not lower than tenth'." No, you're choosing to read it as that. It's not a fact that this regime have said that, like you said. Honestly, I can't stand the current regime and the jaded, cynical and somewhat negative persona some have attached to me on here (regardless of whether I was being serious or not) is more or less down to them and what has happened since Ashley bought the club. But I couldn't stand the previous regime towards the end either, and whilst they were the lesser of two evils, I really think some people allow them too much respect purely because of what they had done early on as opposed to what ended up happening. -

Surely that was just the minimum long-term objective? -

Where and when did they state that finishing higher than 10th was their long term objective? -
They're now called Esperance Sportive Troyes Aube Champagne. Catchy name.

This was on the BBC live text before this match. So jammy.

Brilliant stuff.

Fair enough. Oh and

You make it sound like adidas didn't deliver some poor efforts too. Not entirely comfortable with the lack of stripes myself, but it's still identifiable as an NUFC top and I like the look of it. It's simple.

Not a fan of that personally. But then I'm not a fan of retro-looking shirts, or any with collars like the above. Still don't 'get' the hate some have for our new kit. Is is simply because of the thick stripes and blank black patch on the back?

to be fair - that would take revenue away from the club shop.

Sigh. I'll be gutted if Blackpool go down. Genuinely gutted.

Ranger gets ticking off for lateness

Exactly. Bit unfair on Pardew that. The season didn't end the moment we were safe, and him saying "we're safe" shouldn't have any affect on the player's application in the remaining matches of the season. -
Going to get abuse for this, but I don't think the fact that we sold Carroll automatically makes us a selling club. The view that Ashley will do things on the cheap if he can get away with it is a fair one, though.

The Metro are in the CaughtOffside, tabloid papers, TribalFootball category of football writing. Thankfully.

Give it a rest for once, Leazes. -
Make that 3. Kaka. Incredibly bad defending from Sevilla. They've been woeful.

I'd like to think that Pardew has learned from the Stevenage debacle not to risk him.
