Probably Kevin's finest moment on this forum. Not a lot of competition for that spot, mind.

3 in 3 for Sturridge now. We should have been in for him.

The above post is surely the cue to nuke this abomination of a thread from the internets.

The Joorabchain thing was paper talk.

Why does this dribble keep getting spouting? 'The Carroll situation' is having a negative effect on the our performance because we sold him without any plan for replacing him before the end of the window. For me the thing that bothers me most is that we didn't get another striker in regardless of Carroll's situation. I was asking for the same thing in the summer because I knew we couldn't rely on Carroll, and that our other strikers aren't enough on their own. I realise that the market makes it difficult but a good 5 Premier League strikers moved to other PL clubs on loan in January, all of whom would have improved us. I imagine only Keane would have had extortionate wages, but perhaps we should have taken a risk and paid over the going rate just for a few months. We seemed to be concentrating on wingers (Larsson, Bentley) and then ended up with a ACM in Ireland. I don't believe that Pardew really placed that much faith in Best et al, or that he realised Carroll would be out for so long (which of course became a moot point in the end anyway).

Andy Gray sacked by Sky over sexism row

Worth reiterating that he made that comment 11 years ago, that's a long time for someone to keep that to themselves. Very calculated timing, being right before he starts on his new show. -

Oh dear oh dear. Keys is now involved in a racism row after someone leaked a recording of him calling a possible black Scottish international a "choco jocko". http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2...15875-22919246/ Someone really has it in for him. He starts his new show on Talksport on Monday. Can't wait to see how he handles this one. -
The one thing that impresses me most about us this season is that in all honesty - in terms of the season as a whole up to this point - we've rarely been genuinely poor. Truly bad performances are Man Utd away, West Brom away, Bolton away, most of the Wigan home game and the first half of the Arsenal match. Other than that we've done alright. Defensive lapses cost us against Stoke at home and Blackburn at home. We've drawn games we deserved to/should have won, and won games we should have drawn. It's been a weird season but for a newly promoted side we've shown real quality at times. Don't forget that 4 of our 5 summer signings have done next to nothing for us (Perch, Campbell, Ben Arfa and Gosling), and we've got a weaker strikeforce now than we did in the Championship with Carroll gone and Shola injured. I just hope things settle down in the summer, and we can build on what hasn't been a smooth first season back in the Prem. This is assuming we survive, which I think we will, but honestly try not to think about too much in case I get too nervous.
-
Really hope this isn't the case. To be fair we've shown we can score goals even with our strikeforce (5 against West Ham, 4 against Arsenal etc).

I'll give you 20/1 Min bet a tenner No deal, I won't ever bet against the club and I do think we'll stay up.

No danger of relegation, ASM? Much as I'd love to believe that...

Mission successful! Well played mods. -
Oxymoron? defo the worst misuse of that word I've ever seen btw, no offence intended None taken. Not a word I use often, guess it showed.
-
Poor Smoggies lost 4-3 after being 3-1 up at one point. 94th minute winner for Swansea.
-
Oxymoron?

I'd prefer not to gauge our results off our possibly worst performance of the season. ...and Carroll scored in that match. The worst performance, by a mile, was the Bolton game. Man Utd away wasn't great either but that was the first match of the season and against a great side away from home so it can easily be excused.
-
Getting a bit sick of people criticising him instead of other more deserving players. He hardly had a chance, wasn't on for very long and was on for perhaps the only period where Blackburn put a bit of pressure on us.
-
We haven't won since the 5-0 West Ham game. That's 6 games or thereabouts. I want to be positive when I can but that's a damning statistic.
-
Difference between us and Birmingham; they have someone capable of getting a 93rd minute winner (Zigic).
-
This is what happens when your strikers just aren't good enough. A point gained away from home I am happy with but in reality it's also 2 points dropped because we couldn't finish moves off. Very worrying. But as always as long as we don't get relegated I don't mind how many no score draws we play in. In my opinion, a better striker would have gained us 6 points (2 at Sunderland, 2 against Spurs, 2 today).

They've done it. 3-3 Good for us.

Finally. Go go Nile Ranger
