Ashley actually got rid of a manager that everyone liked, someone still very new to the managerial game, and replaced him with someone who has never shown any signs of making himself look any better than he has at any of his other clubs. It still hasn't sunk in how awfully Ashley has dealt with this situation, a situation entirely of his own making.

A win against a similarly awful Liverpool team doesn't hide how bad a manager Pardew is. Our second half performance against Man City can be attributed to the strength of our team spirit as opposed to any tactical or managerial decisions made by the manager. Put simply, he hasn't got a clue and nor do our half our team.

We are truly woeful. I haven't seen a thing in the last 3 games to think we're better off with Pardew. He'll take us nowhere. Perch, Smith, Routledge, Gutierrez, Lovenkrands and Ameobi are simply sub-standard and have to go. The rest of our lot are average at best aside from Barton on his day, Enrique, Carroll and Ben Arfa.

Come on boys, take it to their remaining men.

At least Pardew now has first hand experience of how useless Perch is. No excuses if he starts again.

We haven't got many like, tbf. That's the problem. We haven't got many, no, but what I meant by that is that we've not been forced to play Perch and Smith.

It's not like we haven't got other, better options. That's what annoys me about that line-up.

Williamson on the bench while James Perch starts. I don't care if it's not his natural position, put Williamson ahead of Perch every time. Not giving Kadar and Ranger a chance is completely wrong in my opinion.

That can't be real. Perch and Smith should be nowhere near a starting 11. Give youth a chance, i.e. start Kadar and Ranger.

Generally whilst watching the Toon as of late.

One of those losses that I'm not as down about as I might be. As has been said, aside from the first 10 minutes, you can't really fault our lot too much today especially in the second half. Like I said the one thing we lacked was luck, and perhaps we should have been a bit more clinical because we certainly had the chances. On another day we'd have won this.

Sickening stuff tbh. We were all over them for a while, eventually got a goal back. Continued battering them and they launch a counter attack and get a third and now it's game over. For most of the match we've been twice as good as they've been. Their first 2 goals were lucky in the sense that we gifted them to them, and this last goal was a deflection off Coloccini. Second best in general just like they were at their place, but yet again they get the luck. I hope they're nowhere near the top come the end of the season.

I've actually been quietly impressed by our performance so far, goals excluded. Good spirit not to collapse. I'm not sure how anyone could blame Pardew for the goals, a case of Man City being jammy and us making needless mistakes.
