  1. Took the bairn to the L'al Ratty railway on the west coast when we staying in Elterwater last year or the year before. It's an amazing drive but my lass was shitting her pants. Amazing view of the Isle of Man at the top.
  2. Might be worth mentioning that you should go via the west coast rather than over Hardknott and Wrynose Pass, Meenz, if you've barely driven in the last 14 years.
  3. Used to love shrooms. I would do them again nee bother. Fucking hilarious
  4. Think I like just about everything they did up to and including Zooropa. Although that was a bit patchy. Achtung Baby was quality. Agree with the other ones you mentioned. Unforgettable Fire is brilliant. Under A Blood Red Sky is a great live comp as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfUUt4RLgak And Bono is obviously a knob, but that goes without saying. Which reminds me of this: @Dr Gloom Aye, quality. Love Victoria as well. They did loads of good songs.
  5. I think Bell should play at 3. You might be right in that Root gets the job in the long run (the reason I'm against that is purely his doing so well at 5) but Bell is the senior middle order batsman so I think it's time for him to stand up and be counted or, if he doesn't do the required job, then maybe it's time he was dropped. The problem is the lack of experience in the batting line up though if Bell does get dropped. In any case I agree with Michael Vaughan in that the Aussies would've been delighted to see the same batting line-up at Edgbaston so don't give them what they want. The opposition definitely strengthened their hand with the changes they made for the last test.
  6. I think it's a good idea to pick Bairstow. They've obviously fancied him as a player for a good while and he's in unbelievable form. Averaging over 100 in first class cricket iirc (in Div 1 as well).
  7. Re: 80s stuff, used to love the RHCP back then, before they went shit. Think up to about Blood Sugar Sex Magik they were canny good. Used to love a bit of U2 as well. Must be about 20-odd years since they've released owt I thought was decent though.
  8. Leave him alone, he's found his niche
  9. Can you post the first 227 of those please?
  10. Love a bit of the Kinks as well.
  11. That's a shame. The first one was quality.
  12. Speaking of which: http://www.hendrixnortheast.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/hendrix/newcastle.htm
  13. I would say, because they don't have the pace of Johnson and Starc, Broad and Anderson in particular need a pitch that gives them a little bit of help in terms of lateral movement, whether that by swing or seam. So I don't think there's a problem with the attack in 'normal English conditions' but the Lord's pitch offered them nothing. They didn't bowl anywhere near as well as the opposition but I think it's a good bowling attack. Perhaps the option of an attacking spinner like Adil Rashid might help but it's the batting at the top of the order that's the big problem.
  14. Thompers just exudes cool.
  15. Shush, you don't even like cricket.
  16. He's shite like. That 'Well Good Show' he did. Fuck me I'd heard before he was a doctor. Talk about don't give up the day job.
  17. Blatter looks quite upset, which is nice. Amazing how thin skinned some of these absolute twats are.
  18. Solid, solid as my cock... ....was the school yard refrain iirc
  19. Got to be Juan's Magic Mix of Big Fun if we're talking Inner City, Gloom (not that yours isn't a quality track). Had a bit of crush on Neneh Cherry too
  20. Really like that. Reminds me of something else but I can't remember what exactly atm. Edit: bit like some DeepChord stuff but with drums.
  21. It's not really. Driving is more dangerous. I can understand the fear but it's still an irrational one given the actual risks.
