The OFFICIAL Transfer Rumours Thread 2018 -2019
trooper replied to Anorthernsoul's topic in Newcastle Forum
14 days to Rafa's July 2 deadline he wanted 5 players signed & ready for pre season training. According to various reports we haven't made a single offer for any of Rafa's target's. Also it's reported Rafa has given up his summer break to sort transfers out I really feel for the bloke. -

And the best day will come when someone buys it from him and runs it the way Newcastle should be run. The club can never go anywhere under Mike Ashley. I promise you that"- KEVIN KEEGAN -

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/rafa-benitez-learns-could-shop-14783650 Rafa Benitez is believed to have been told he will be operating at the lower end of the transfer market this summer. Ideally, Benitez wants to sign four or five new faces - to go with permanent arrival Martin Dubravka - in time for the start of pre-season training on July 2. Here we go again no wonder Rafa won't sign an extension. The guys given up his summer break again this year allegedly to sort transfers out to now be told this. -

"Roll up roll up get yer tickets now "https://www.themag.co.uk/2018/06/revealed-mike-ashley-hasnt-allowed-single-offer-made-rafas-targets-report-newcastle-united/ Prices in every stand and in every age group surprisingly going up, some fans finding out that they have to pay over 20% more compared to last season, if they want to renew. Coinciding (badly) with this unwelcome news, was a report revealing that a month into the transfer window Mike Ashley has so far not allowed a single offer to be made for any of Rafa Benitez’ transfer targets.

I always thought Pardew was the perfect manager for Ashley. Always fanking Mike, never questioning the budget, taking the flak from the fans a perfect yes man. The grim reality is if/when Rafa goes we can probably expect the return of Pardew or someone of that calibre -

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/uncomfortable-truth-newcastle-uniteds-transfer-14780261 It is believed that Benitez was keen to have four or five new faces through the door in time for the first day of pre-season training on July 2 but that now looks increasingly unlikely to happen. Benitez’s back-room and scouting team produced a lengthy shortlist of targets to bring in this summer but there has been no progress in the transfer market so far for the Magpies . -

https://www.themag.co.uk/2018/06/rafa-benitez-now-told-summer-transfer-budget-report-newcastle-united/ Wednesday lunchtime has seen The Chronicle report that Rafa Benitez has now been informed as to what his summer transfer budget is. However, that looks to be where the good news ends…. The newspaper says that the budget is believed to be very similar to what Rafa Benitez was allowed to spend last season. -

In a worrying update from the Chronicle’s Mark Douglas, it’s been revealed today that Mike Ashley is demanding that Rafa Benitez signs a new long-term contract before he’ll hand him money to spend this summer – leading to a stand off between the two parties. In short, Ashley won’t back Rafa until he agrees to a new deal, but Benitez won’t entertain any new contract until Ashley proves he’ll show ambition this summer. This really is frustrating. Given their previous failings and the broken promises Benitez has been dealt, it’s to be expected that Rafa wants to see proof of their intentions and ambitions before agreeing to any new deal. It sounds like Ashley is being awkward and unreasonable once again, however, leading to a stand off between the two parties. -

This from the Chronic Newcastle United skipper Jamaal Lascelles is a target for Tottenham and Chelsea according to reports in the Capital. And they intend to test Newcastle’s resolve – with an initial bid of £30million mooted but the possibility of bumping it up to £45million. -

First interview for ages Lee Charnley: “It (failing to get promotion) would have been a catastrophe, a bloodbath, the manager would likely have gone. “It was a one season gamble from his view as well. “Some of the players would have wanted to go…Matt Ritchie for example, he bought into this on the basis of, one year in the Championship then going to the Premier League. “Then we would have had Financial Fair Play, you cannot operate a business continually that has a wage bill higher than its turnover…it is not sustainable. “We would have had no choice but to recruit Championship players and three teams then come down with more money than you. “You end up on a cycle of trying to catch them and you have to reset financially – it would have taken years to get out of the Championship. “We had planned a conversation with the manager after the (final) game (of the season against Tottenham). “Mike (Ashley) said ‘We are going for it’ and we talked through the game….’get the manager to stay, get off to decent start, the fans behind you, build momentum and it can develop a life of its own. “Mike’s priority was to keep Rafa and he said I’m going to support you, and come next year I do not want to be in this league. ‘It’s not like we’re sat on a big pot of cash keeping it for a rainy day,’ said Charnley. ‘Money comes in, money goes out and what’s left is available to spend, it’s that simple.’ “This year was about staying in the Premier League, and now it is about growing and improving year on year, but doing that within our means. “Not to say there is a lack of ambition, because there definitely is ambition, it will just take some time. “There have been a lot of briefings and information out there (about a possible takeover) but we are planning and assuming Mike will be the owner of this football club. “We are moving forward assuming Mike Ashley will be the owner because what’s the alternative?”
